  1. IIRC, China and Vietnam have gone to war numerous times over the centuries.
  2. I dunno: those lead balls made quite a wound. :)
  3. No pictures, (I'm at work), but I have a male Rottweiler named Titan and a female Rat Terrier named Sassy, (yes, my wife's dog and she lives up to her name). My daughter has a male Rat Terrier named Ferdinand, (after Ferdinand the Bull). The two rats are brother and sister. My pack shrunk when I had to put my lab down a couple of months ago. :(
  4. What a great picture!!
  5. I believe that Marine Snipers have moved to 6.5, Jonnin, but that's more about ballistic efficiency than anything else.
  6. It's broketadid for sure! :)
  7. I just got back from vacation in Missouri, and that's how it is there. If po-po is called it's a trespassing charge.
  8. I bought a M&P .40 caliber compact a few weeks ago. Me being a rather large fellow with big hands the standard magazine just doesn't get it for me. I called into S&W Customer Service asking how I purchase a finger extension for the regular magazine since it wasn't listed online. They are sending me one without charge! That is great!!
  9. I wasn't aware that anyone but lawyers could address the Supreme Court.
  10. Goes earlier than that. My FIL had a 70 LTD that would kick out of park when you shut the door too hard. It did it on me when I parked in their driveway on the hill. I shut the door and the car rolled down the rather steep hill, across the street, and into the ditch. Fortunately, there was another hill on the other side of the road with no driveway. Scared the crap out of me!!
  11. I'd like to know how much before I'm in.
  12. It seems that they are out of stock of everything that I'm interested in. :(
  13. Don't buy a French gun; it'll just surrender when you need it.
  14. Mustang with dude's snake hanging out? Perhaps he thought that this would make his car a Cobra?
  15. There are some that I trust and many that I would not. As someone else pointed out we are all perfectly capable of making our own mistakes, so what makes the chance that we take with ourselves less probable than what it is with someone you trust? Why would you trust someone that you don't know at a factory more than you trust someone that you do know? Considering recent ammo plant explosions, disgruntled employees, etc, why would you trust any factory ammo for that matter?
  16. When I was a LEO part of my job turned into killing groundhogs during my shifts. The town that I worked in had a lot of very large gardens, (bigger than a lot of lots that houses are built on nowadays), and the little bastages tore them up. The Chief didn't want a bunch of people shooting at them in residential neighborhoods, so as the sniper for the department I was assigned the extermination duty. I carried a 10/22 with me, and when I saw one I just shot them in the head. If you weren't aware groundhogs have very hard heads. The typical .22 round bounced off their heads, so I had to use hot-loaded HP ammo. This method of getting rid of them certainly takes patience, but it worked to the gratitude of the garden owners.   For those mentioning Rat Terriers to kill the vermin you all must have some lite-weight groundhogs to deal with. In Missouri the groundhogs grew larger than a Rat Terrier and had some pretty large K9's that were used impressively to fight off the local's dogs. They reminded me of raccoons.
  17. Sure, if you want to get raped. :(
  18. I understand. My wife's granny made yeast rolls that were fantastic, but she made them the same way without a recipe. Granny tried to teach my wife but it didn't take. The rolls died with her. Years later we found the same rolls being sold at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, MO. My wife bit into one and started crying. She then asked how they got the recipe. It was coincidence.
  19. Sounds like a VERY subjective situation hinging on one's thoughts towards what's reasonable.
  20. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/fedex-facility-shooting-prompts-massive-response-shooter-found-dead-n92186   Doesn't FedEx prohibit guns on their premises?
  21. So, if for instance, a bank were not to employ armed security and a patron was injured during a robbery then the bank is liable for said injury since banks get robbed quite frequently? Or if a business receives threats and does nothing then they are liable? For the latter I would assume a reasonable timeline comes into play such as customer makes threats, walks out to their car to get a gun, and then comes back in and starts shooting versus the same situation but the customer goes home to get the gun and comes back an hour or day later?   And thanks for chiming in, Chip. It's nice to see a lawyer's opinion in this matter.   EDIT: Doesn't employees being locked into Workmen's Compensation Laws effect this as well? An employee that's injured by violence cannot sue their employer like a customer can, correct?
  22.   You mention the government should not control the interactions between consenting adults, so you must believe that a psychiatrist should be able to have sex with their adult patient, or a pastor should be able to have sex with an adult member of their congregation, or a judge should be able to have sex with an adult prisoner. So rape of an authority figure shouldn't be a law with your stance?    Does this sound absurd to you? Employers are an authority figure with the same type of psychological power over their employees, and they have used that power to abuse employees on numerous occasions throughout history whether it be for sex, uncompensated work, or unethical/unlawful purposes.   The concept of someone opening up their property, (and in most cases it's not even their property to begin with since they LEASE the property from another party), for business with the public somehow trumps the rights of the people that they've invited onto their property to do business is absurd. This is not your home where everyone has an expectation of privacy - the exception being where someone does open their house for business traffic.   The SC has long held that one's right does not trump another's rights such as your 1A right to free speech doesn't entitle you to yell "FIRE!" in a crowded theatre when there is no fire.
  23. I think that he was referring to an employer claiming intellectual property of an employee's idea even when the idea did not occur at work, but I could be wrong.
  24. You're right; why do we need a government at all?
