  4. FYI: Did you know that cordless phones can be monitored by anyone with a HAM radio? When I was a police officer I knew of another officer that would carry a hand-held HAM radio and monitor the phone calls of known dirtbags.
  5. Um, did you miss this part? "The judge in the appeal case, Judge Richard Posner, agreed that the officer had to search the phone immediately or risk losing valuable evidence. Judge Posner ruled it was a matter of urgency, arguing it was possible for an accomplice to wipe the phone clean using a computer or other remote device." IIRC police can search without a warrant if they have probable cause and there is valid risk of distruction of evidence.

  13. Because I doubt the company is against guns per se; they are against the liability. I believe the company should either be 100% liable for what happens to their employees and customers, or they are not liable and the onus is on the employee/customer for their safety.
  14. So, you won't buy gas at a station that has its building posted? Do you check with every property owner to see if they have a problem with your gun? What if your employer was the only one employing your position and you knew you couldn't get a job anywhere else, would you still quit?
  15. I think this is a great idea if you don't want to spend the time or effort to do it yourself.
  16. There are cases where employees were fired after the fact because it was clear a gun was in the car. In one case that I remember there was a car broken into on company property. The company obtained a copy of the police report that listed a handgun as stolen from the car. They fired the employee. In another case a person went to a range from work. The company fired that person because it was clear they had a weapon on their property. There are also cases of employers conducting random searches of employees and their vehicles while on company property.

  19. I disagree, obviously, because your rights cannot infringe upon another's. Like yelling fire in a crouded theater. When you open up your property to the public to do business you forfeit SOME rights, and the government sure does exercise control there by telling you what codes and laws to follow be it safety, convenience or discrimination. Now if you would agree to assume ALL liability for those you employ or invite onto your property to do business then you would have a point IMHO, but that's not reality.

Not that this hasn't been argued ad nauseum on this forum, but where does it say that in the constitution?The Declaration of Independence doesn't say anything about property when they talk about the unalienable rights. In fact it says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Gee, Life is listed first indicating highest priority, because without life nothing else matters. Then there's the sticky little "We The People of The United States," that says nothing about businesses.

Predators The predators beavers face will vary from region to region, but include wolves, lynxs, bears, coyotes, common red foxs, bobcats, owls, otters, minks, alligators, wolverines, weasels, hawks, eagles, dogs, humans, and most other large mammalian carnivores. How about some decoys around the area???
