  1. Try here. I've found it helpful in the past. Where To Shoot | Find a Range
  2. What type of luggage do you use for airline travel if you're taking a handgun with you. Hardside or softside?
  3. The really crappy thing is that all FFL holders have to abide by federal law, but If I'm out of state I can't buy a handgun without having to ship it back to an FFL in my home state. If I can pass background checks in one state I should be allowed to purchase and take possession in any state that allows handgun possession.
  4. Add me to the "likes". Having a choice of backrounds is really nice. Appreciate that!!
  5. Are you thinking you have to qualify with each weapon you want to carry? If you are, not necessary. You only need to get the HCP.
  6. Bradley County Sheriff does it a few times a year. It's cheap and you get to shoot at Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club.
  7. Have had ADT monitored system for years in FL and 4 years here and their service has been great. We changed this system around a little and the servicemen were here when they said they would be and the work they did was neat and clean. Have had no false alarms except when I forget the system is armed and they usually call before I get to the phone.
  8. Saw this ad in GOC this morning. Someone in the Nashville area needs to check it out as the asking price is half of the prices on Gunbroker. He's asking $800..... The ad is towards the bottom of page 2 Colt Python 6' Stainless Steel description Like New in Box Colt python 6" stainless steel, Goes with box, manual, papers and extra ammos. It is in excellent condition and has no wear or tear.
  9. Before you do anything make sure the leak is in the radiator. The weep hole in the water pump is in that area and the drips from that may mimic a radiator leak.
  10. TV and guns are quite the mix anyway. On a recent episode of of The Glades..." We know it was a 38 form the bullet and casing we found on scene". Sure enough, the murder weapon was a revolver.
  11. Always use the right tool for the job, so I will get a bushing wrench. I think the good oil is Kroil? and tnhawk I think that's the most important thing to do.
  12. Went to the safe yesterday to do some cleaning and oiling of some things that have been sitting for a while, one being a Colt 1911. That barrel bushing would not turn (sitting too long I guess). I pulled the slide with everything together and put the slide in a vise (aluminum jaws) Even used a wrench on it, nada. Then I remembered an old trick...... Put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and even though i still need a wrench, it turned pretty easy. I used a flat jawed monkey wrench. I then took some 2000 grit, oiled up wet/dry paper to the bushing and slide in case of any burrs. none found. Lesson learned....... Make sure everything is real clean and oiled before putting it away.
  13. I'm sorry I kinda hijacked the thread! To Brooks, I'm happy for you. Your new job sounds great and when the wife is looking forward to the move and a change, it takes away a lot of the stess.
  14. Have had fried bologna with eggs, the BBQ bologna sounds good. We don't like crowds, drunks or driving at night, so we'll be out of town long before dark. My EDC is like an AMEX card........never leave home without it.
  15. Read that the Commissary is real good, maybe we'll try it. Wanted to trythe cornish hen at Cozy Corner We wanted to be able to walk around see the Peabody, go to the fire museum, walk down Beale, etc. We'll be on our way to TX for a week the middle of Sept., hope it cools down by then:)
  16. We'll be passing thru Memphis and want some BBQ. Gonna stay at Tom Sawyer RV Park across the river.?? If you could only have one more meal of Memphis BBQ where would it be? And is the Beale St area safe to walk around? Started the google searching, so far Cozy Corner, Paynes and A&R.
