  1. I can't see this getting off the ground but nowadays you never can tell. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Secretary of the Interior have been petitioned by two environmental groups seeking to ban all interstate transport of wild mammals and almost all birds, warns the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance. That includes all parts—such as meat, hides, and antlers—even if they’ve been properly processed by a butcher or taxidermist to comply with current CWD transportation laws. https://www.outdoorlife.com/conservation/petition-could-ban-game-transport/?fbclid=IwAR03d6ziKcIEvYnu_s11MoQ7BQ5xfk4WdpwSBycv27oTSF0gy_Pp-FLwQRU
  2. This article is a year old but it shows how the CDC thinks. This document presents considerations from the perspective of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) for implementing the shielding approach in humanitarian settings as outlined in guidance documents focused on camps, displaced populations and low-resource settings.1,2 This approach has never been documented and has raised questions and concerns among humanitarian partners who support response activities in these settings. The purpose of this document is to highlight potential implementation challenges of the shielding approach from CDC’s perspective and guide thinking around implementation in the absence of empirical data. Considerations are based on current evidence known about the transmission and severity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and may need to be revised as more information becomes available. Please check the CDC website periodically for updates. What is the Shielding Approach1? The shielding approach aims to reduce the number of severe COVID-19 cases by limiting contact between individuals at higher risk of developing severe disease (“high-risk”) and the general population (“low-risk”). High-risk individuals would be temporarily relocated to safe or “green zones” established at the household, neighborhood, camp/sector or community level depending on the context and setting.1,2 They would have minimal contact with family members and other low-risk residents. Current evidence indicates that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.3 In most humanitarian settings, older population groups make up a small percentage of the total population.4,5 For this reason, the shielding approach suggests physically separating high-risk individuals from the general population to prioritize the use of the limited available resources and avoid implementing long-term containment measures among the general population. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/global-covid-19/shielding-approach-humanitarian.html
  3. If you really want to throw them off use one or a combination of these. One dollar coin (choose which one, or a combination), two dollar bill, or a 50 cent coin.
  4. Thanks for jogging my memory, I have a Norinco buried somewhere in my safe that's only had one box of ammo through it. Although SA autos are not my cup of tea, I do have a few.
  5. Not really an interesting article but when I got to the last paragraph it made my mouth drop open. Is the upcoming generation really this stupid ? McDonald’s is facing a bag shortage due to pressures in the industry, the Wall Street Journal reports. Over the past year, the majority of restaurants across the country saw most of the business coming from take-out or delivery orders, which required them to use more bags than usual. About 81% of restaurant business was take out or delivery over the past 12 months, Yahoo Finance reports. During the prior year, it was just 18%. As restaurant dining rooms across the country are reopening, McDonald’s workers are serving more orders on trays. McDonald’s policy is to serve in-store meals on trays. The increase in tray service is not connected to issues with the supply of bags. According to the Wall Street Journal, some restaurants have reported issues with workers who haven’t had to serve orders on trays before. New employees hired during the past year would likely have served primarily to-go orders and transitioning back to trays is reportedly more difficult than expected. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/mcdonalds-bag-shortage-industry-pressures
  6. Here we go again !!! 10. This should really test the "Super Spreader" theory. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota as more Americans attend large gatherings this year following last year's coronavirus lockdowns. The rally kicked off Friday and will last over 10 days with 700,000 people expected to attend. The event was widely criticized as a "superspreading event" last year amid the pandemic, when about 460,000 people attended. https://www.foxnews.com/us/sturgis-motorcycle-rally-thousands-coronavirus
