  1. Congratulations.  Coming up on 54 years with the same woman for me.
  2. Ahh, the Ministry of Truth at work.  Orwell was so accurate.
  3. Firearm rule high on the list:  Make sure of your target...........  That was funny, EssOne.

    Ruger LC9

The mag release on my LC9 is smooth and takes no  major effort.  The release hits mid way between the tip of my thumb and the joint.
  5. The wife recently had both eyes done in Knoxville by Dr McDanials. (sp) She now only needs glasses for close work and reading.  The out come made a spectacular change.  I call her Hawkeye.   I am next.
  6. Good eatin', them there bunny rabbits. Don't think I would want to mess with them in this heat.  Probably full of warbles.. wolves, what ever you want to call them.
  7. There is a fairly decent greasy spoon restaurant where the wife and I used to frequent for breakfast. New management decided the coffee should be served less than hot.  We no longer eat there.   We go where the coffee is served hot.
  8. About ten years ago I bought good titanium frames.  Got tired of the cheap frames bending, etc.  I've had replacement lenses installed in these frames at least three times, maybe four.  Of course, the eyeglass vendors want to sell me new frames, with the "If your frames break, we don't have parts to fix them".  So far they have not broken and I am still happy with the frames.  Edit:  I have an independent optometrist with an in house lab here that I would recommend but logistically it would be impossible for you.
  9. Good advice and comments.  . We were W O power for 50 hours, one night where it was  0 deg. We have auxiliary heat from a wood stove and was glad to have it.  We closed off the rest of the house and concentrated in the large room where the stove is located.  The wife slept in the loft and I slept on the couch to keep the fire going.  It helps to have lots of good seasoned hardwood. If you live where downed trees could be a problem, be sure to have a good chainsaw ready to go.  I spent first morning after the ice storm cutting my way out my road. Runco, I am just down the road a short way from you.
  10. We were without power for 50 hours, including one night at -2 deg. Very thankful for the genset and a big wood stove..  No pipe problems.
  11. As of Wed evening, we have an inch of snow over an inch of ice. I spent much of yesterday clearing my road and then another hour today.  Chainsaw is my friend. That ice is nasty heavy stuff.  Been without power 48 hours.  Thankful for a good wood stove and a good supply of wood.
  12. In addition, any one on assistance who sports new tats or hog rings should be removed from assistance immediately.
  13. I have a free standing Jotul clean burn wood stove installed on my stone hearth. It was professionally installed with a liner running through a large field stone fire place and lined chimney. I also have S.F. insurance.  The S. F. agent took pictures, looked around and said there was no no increased fee related to the wood stove.   Edit:  And in keeping it gun related, I figure the wood burning stove keeps the humidity low.
  14. Sounds like that could have been  my wife, without the cane.
