nice report! I noticed the 15 yard criminal faired even worse than the 10 yard criminal... Good shooting!
  4. If things ever go south, please forward her cell phone number! JK... You have a great lady there!
  5. You might suggest that she become a benefactor to this fine site. For a nominal and very fair cost, this would open several other forums including a very informative and easy to use "firearms for sale" forum where some great people would pay fair prices, or offer her other sources of valuable information as she decides whether to sell.
  6. mine makes a stylish cane and goes well with a tux.
  7. Very interesting.  Thanks
  8.   I volunteer to be Spot's lackey...
  9. Welcome... Guns don't rust as fast here.
  10. BTW, you ever heard of the (now former) boy scout camp - Camp Onway in Raymond N.H.?  My Grandfather worker there for 30 years.  I lived in Hudson for a couple years between company transfers.
  11. Wrong-wrong-wrong,   There is something decidedly and unequivocally better up north.  As a damn Yankee who loves Tennessee, I know that ice fishing up north kicks the sh*t out of ice fishing here!  I still love TN though.
  12. Glad to have you
  13. Someone who is confident that they will never get any lint in their pockets :)  Agreed that snags would be a concern.  They are good looking little pistols though.
  14. Kimbers have indeed gotten some criticism in some forums.  Mine is a full size Custom Royal bought new in Jan 1998 but made in 1997.  A real beauty.  I cannot recall a FTF or any other issue really.  However I only put 500-600 rounds through it and it then it lived in the locked case with occasional cleanings until I took my HCP class, then back in the case.. I carry A Kahr now (also a j-frame) so I have no real bias.  I'm betting you love it and it will perform well, but let us know!
  15. 1.  Practice working the thumb safety... Practice working the thumb safety, and while your practicing that thumb safety, practice working the thumb safety.     2.  Get a good sturdy belt and a good "leather" OWB or IWB, because 1911's are just that damn special!!!!! :usa:
  16. My 2 cents (matbe$.01)... "If" you prefer to stay within shouting distance to Nashville I would suggest anything 20-30 minutes south of 840, but not too far east or west of 65.  Depending on price range, there are nice rolling areas on both sides of I-65, but I really like areas west of Spring-hill/Thompson Station and Columbia.  Depending how far you go, it's not too pricey and you can stay within an Hour of Nashville and hit I-65 south for a decent long weekend drive to the coast. You can also hit the Natchez Trace and see some real nice country out there.  There are some real nice areas 30 minutes to an hour south of Murfreesboro off I-24 too!   Raoul has it about right in the end though... Except for Memphis (sorry Memphis, you have good BBQ though!)
  17. Welcome aboard!
  18. Sorry for lack of format as requested above. On an iPhone. Highly recommend "Condition-1" in Franklin. Took the HCP class and it was excellent. Many other training classes too with special guest trainers. Google them if interested.
  19. Pls excuse typos. I'm on my iPhone
  20. Like like you trainned with Mick Houston and the Condition 1 group. Great program. Got my HCP course through them. I was just looking up the same class this morning at work. What a coincidence. I was thinking of taking my S&W 69 .357 I bought in 20 odd years ago and a 642 I have for EDC. Can't wait.
  21. Welcome fellow Franklin member.    I used to flyfish myself.  Tied more than a few.  There's nothing like not catching fish elegantly :)   All kidding aside, my grandfather owned a stretch of land on the Boardman River adjoining Shumky's landing on the Boardman river near Mayfield Michigan.  Their land bordered the river for about a half mile.  I've fished it many times.  Just upstream is Mayfield pond, which was the birthplace of the Adams Dy fly tied by Len Halladay, who would fish my family's stretch of the boardman often.  I hope you find some good fishing here.  The Caney Fork has a good rep.  I've been here 9 years and have never gone though.  Good luck!   http://hatchesmagazine.com/blogs/Hatches/2010/04/19/the-adams-history-revisited-by-tom-deschaine/     http://www.flyfishtennessee.com/River_Descriptions/caneyfork.html
