6.8:__________ Thanks for posting this article. I fully agree. Barak Obama is, I believe, our second (...maybe our third anti-american president. There are some who would class Woodrow Wilson our first because of the "League of Nations" thing. Although Wilson just sold out the Germans, not his own country..). Jimmy Carter was the second and Obama the third. Obama is, by far, the most Anti American in thought and speech, and he has surrounded himself with folks just like him. On a personal basis, he is simply overberaring and unlikable. Neither Carter nor Wilson were that way. The good news is that most people have come to understand that and they will very likely see to it that he will be a one-term president. I know i'll do my part to see that he is. Barak Obama represents all that is wrong with the one worlder, secular, socialist trash that populates much of academia and the Demorat Party these days. Barak Obama's "Hope and Change' message is one of "Hope for the perverted and non producers" and "Change from dollars in your pocket to the pockets of those on the dole". Food for thought. Leroy

My favorite so far!! Spend big on rifle (...especially the hard kickers -- 7 mag/300 Win. Mag and up...); save money with BB gun scope! Another great one by Deerslayer: Keep up the good work! Leroy

Mike:_____________ You may want to take a look at the round freefloat handguards. You can put a small peice of rail where you want it and leave the rest of the handguard for your hand, and not spare rail. I like the free floats. I believe they are the best accuracy improver you can do to a non-precision AR (...or any other rifle, for that matter...). RE: Saving money. I agree, we have done a couple or AR's. The great thing is that you get what you want. Keep up the good work! Kind reagrds, leroy

This is great advice for anyone who loads ammo that needs to go off every time you pull the trigger (....hunting, SD, etc. ...). The surest way to get ammo PROPERLY PRIMED is with a hand primer. PS-- i fully agree those who opine that .005 is a miniscule oal difference with the reloaded ammo. Dont worry about it. Thanks for posting this great info. Kind regards, leroy

Some great wisdom in this post. Especially the words about the "perfect candidate". There aint any. RE: Ron Ramsey:____________ I have hesitated greatly to say this; but i believe it is worth consideration. Could it be possible that Haslam used Ramsey as a willing accomplice to split the Republican Primary vote in order to beat "Stateline" Wamp in this primary in exchange for his (...Haslam's...) backing sometime down the road (...say after two Haslam terms as governor....)? I don't want to think that because i like Ramsey on a personal basis; and there is no way to know for sure; but politics is a dirty business. Dont discount the possibility. It has happened before. Food for thought. Leroy

Good advice. We always used Balistol (...it must be a water soluble vegetable type oil...). Dont use a petroleum based oil with black powder/pyrodex type powders. They will make a hard fouling that you will have to work hard to get rid of. We always used bore butter soaked patches under the bullet (...or ball..) in our percussion revolvers. To clean after shooting; we always scrubbed with a mixture of equal parts of water, non ammonia windex, alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide (...got this recipe from the North-South Skirmish website--- dont know what the hydrogen peroxide is for. ....); dried the bore, and wiped it down with balistol. We always swabbed the nipples with the same cleaning mixture and wiped them dry with pipe cleaners. PS: I think rabatatoo is right about this too. Black powder shoots better and doesnt choke you to death with the nasty fumes from the black powder substitute stuff. Black powder also cleans up better. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

Conrad and all:___________________ Here is a link giving some historical data on the 257 Roberts. It is probably the greatest of the 25 caliber wildcats. Link here: Nazarian. I remember when the 257 came out in the Ruger 77, along with the 7X57 Mauser round. There was great excitement in the "real rifleman" (...no bazooka calibers or weatherbys; these were guys that actually shot their rifles on a regular basis ---target or hunting....) world about the indtroduction of these old time cartridges. When Bill Ruger was alive, Ruger did a great job of publicizing their production and mixing it up with the great old calibers. The 7 X 57 and the 257 Roberts were two of their best offerings. As I remember, they did them both in bolt action and single shot versions (...Ruger 77 and Ruger #1...). Enjoy your Roberts, it is a great thing. Kind regards, Leroy

Aaron:___________ Got the same problem myself. I dont like shoulder holsters, they can get uncomfortable. That being said; I carry a glock 33 in an Allen Miller kydex pocket holster (.... link here: Welcome to Aholster ...) in the hip pocket (...or front pocket...) of my dungarees (...shorts or long pants...). When i wear khakis or dress pants, i carry a sig 238 in a D. M Bullard roughout leather front pocket holster. They both work very well. By the way, im a gimped up 5ft 8in --300 lb round man who wears his clothes a bit loose. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

Dont worry about the UN. They are only in to stealin money, passing it around to dictators, and murdering and raping defenseless women and children in third world countries where the men have all been murdered off and the populace is too weak to resist. They didnt enforce the peace between Hezbolla and Israel in the south of Lebanon and they aint commin over here to enforce the "rights of the child" either. Leroy

Amen brother! Whatta truth!!! The founders did not want us to trust our government. They knew you couldnt trust it. Government needs to be watched and controlled. That's why you never allow government to take up your arms, no matter what the precieved justification or pretense. Unarmed citizens are serfs; armed citizens are, in fact citizens who can enforce their rights if necessary; including self defense (...even against agents of their own government...). Remember the Ambrose Bierce quote: "...There are four boxes protecting America, the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box." He was a very insightful man. Keep up the good work! Kind regards, Leroy

I fully agree. This has been going on for a pretty good while. There is a very powerful faction in the Demorat party (...and a few in the Republican party; sadly...) that has been working mightily to make everyone ignorant and poor (...just like serfs...) in this country; and to create a "privledged class" of insiders who run the "Socialist Workers Utopian Dream" state. Nobama is just the latest incarnation of them. I doubt they will succeed. We are still armed and have the vote. Keep up the good work. Leroy

Jeff:_____________ Got one comming on a custom 450 Bushmaster. I like the YHM stuff because it is steel. They make an excellent product at a good price. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

Folks:_______________ Dont worry about this: These folks (...for the most part...) are the sons and daughters of Tories who wouldnt fight their British brothers in the Revolutionary War and were too timid to help their Colonial brothers either. I aint too worried about them now. Both our societies (...American and Canadian...) are too feminized now to do much killing and pillaging. If the "New World Order" tough guys want real help, they better do the "Red Dawn" thing and get them some good ole comunist latino guys like Daniel Ortega's boys. I say:"...come on down boys; lets see what ya got! ...". Come up on the ridge and hunt us country boys down! "Hillside" Leroy

Greg has some great advice here. The only problem is that the old Ithaca 37's have become somewhat of a collector's item in some locations, and may bring a bit too much money for what they are. That being said, the Browning BPS is a great shotgun (...the greatest pump manufactured now, i think...). They are ultra smooth (...what the revered Winchester model 12 should have been...), eject to the bottom (...a great feature, especially for lefties...), are extremely well built, and dont cost an arm and a leg. There are lots of 'em out there. Take a look at the "lightly used" models. I like (... and used to shoot...) both. For a pump shotgun, they (...the Ithaca 37 and the BPS...) are the kings of the recent pump shotguns (...my all time favorite is the great Winchester 1897 hammer pump; the original "trench sweeper" and king of the duck blind!!...). Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy

Red:______________ My two cents worth: I really like the remington 870, the mossberg 500, and the browning bps. They are all great shotguns, no matter the model. Look around at all of them. Pick the best deal. Dont be afraid to buy a "lightly used" one either. By the way, load it with #4 buck or larger. I load 2 rounds of #4 buck and the rest with 00 buck. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Leroy (...with a Winchester model 12 riot pump (...lightly used, lovingly cared for...) in the corner and a 12 gage browning bps (22 inch barrel...) next to the bed...)

Dear Think:_____________ Model 15 has target (...adjustable...) sights; but is 38 special. They are good ones. The others are fixed sights. I like 'em all. Kind regards, leroy

Graycrait gives some great advice here: We are revolver guys. Done lots of shooting with smiths similar to these. Learn to shoot DA; that's what these guys were made for. They are fast, accurate, tough, and dead reliable. Every pistolero should own one. Keep up the good work. Kind regards, Leroy

Obama throws support behind controversial Islamic center
leroy replied to pegasusrider's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Folks:_______________ A few things to think about. First I agree with the idea that we have freedom of religion in this country; and that this freedom is guranteed by the Constitution. That means freedom to practice any religion, so long as the tenants and practices of that religion do not violate existing law (...e.g. -- child sacrifice, temple prostitution --- you get the picture...). That means that Islam, which I believe is both a religious and political world view can be practiced anywhere there are followers who gather together for worship. This brings us to the issue of the "Ground Zero" Mosque. Those who oppose the choice of this specific location of this project should buy the ground zero property. That is the best way to stop any project (...religious or otherwise...) which requires a real estate location. This has the effect of diverting that particular location to the uses of the owners. The government (...both federal, local, and state...) should stay out of the mosque location issue. All that being said; there is no doubt in my mind that the secret sponsors of radical Islam (...read that the Saudis and other oil sheik nations that we do business with...) are working mightily behind the scenes to give the nutty among their fiefdoms a tangible token of the "Victory of Islam" over the USA (...whether it is, in fact, a victory or not...). I believe that "token" or shrine is the proposed Ground Zero Mosque. If those parties that are interested in this issue wish to stop this project; land purchase is the solution. No courts, no political arguments (…and demagoguery…), no constitutional issues, no nothing except dollars to buy the property. My guess is that since that since the oil fiefdoms have plenty of money and that the folks who own the ground zero property worship the god of money, this aint going to happen. That means that the nutty will get their shrine, and New Yorkers will get a new mosque. Either way, I would much prefer no meddling in the constitutional issues in regard to freedom of religion and property rights. Remember, folks generally get what they ask for. Oh, by the way, I think it is great that Nobama and other foolish polititians are talking about this; even endorsing it. They are busy making more and more people mad about this. I say, never interupt your enemies while they are digging their own graves and making making more enemies out of former friends. I say; "Keep talking!!!". Food for thought. Leroy
