  1. Dear Stranger45:___________ To understand TN politics you need to understand that TN is basically divided into three separate and distinct regions (...people and territory--almost like different states...) as follows: East Tennessee-- From the Tennessee River east (...really about the Cumberland Plateau east...) is republican territory; and always has been since the Civil War. Middle Tennessee (...runs from the Cumberland Plateau about to Camden, TN, where the Tennessee River flows north toward the Ohio...) is a mix; with (...in the old days, a distinct Demorat flavor...). Luckily, that is changing due to the buildup of folks in the Williamson Co area (...and other areas im sure...) who are actually trying to better themselves and are capitalists at heart...). The rural areas appear to be a mix of old time "New Deal" Democrats who are slowly finding out the "New Demorats" are selling them into slavery. Notable exceptions to this are the inner city areas of Nashville and the other usual places where folks are "on the dole"; plus the usual boschelvic trash around the colleges. West Tennessee is dominated by the Memphis metro area which is clearly Demorat. To summarize; the further west you go and the closer to the large metro areas such as Nashville; the more Demorat things become. Having said that, there are lots of good folks living in all those areas that are waking up to what the current crop of Demorats stand for. In modern times, Tennessee has tussled back and forth between "Blue Dog" Democrats and Republicans on the national scene. But the current trend (...since about 1970, i think...) has been that it is becoming more and more Republican at the Federal level. At the state level, things are also turning more and more Republican. The current governor (...Bredesen---) is a Demorat thru and thru, but he won on the heels of a RINO Republican (...Sundquist...) that was a dufus for sure. Bretesen is, for the most part, a pretty good fiscal policy governor; but he is a Liberal Ideologue thru and thru. He is, however, smart enough to keep quiet about it. Now, regarding your questions: · Governor --- I like Wamp. He is currently a republican congressman who is for the most part fiscally conservative, pro states rights and progun. I DO NOT LIKE HALSAM. SEARCH THE POSTS ON THIS FORUM FOR THE WHYS. · Senate--- Hot topic here. Our present Senator is Lamar Alexander. He is a blue nose Republican with overbearing tendencies; but, overall, he is a rabidly partisan Republican. SEARCH THE POSTS ON THIS FORUM FOR SOME INFO AND GOUSING ABOUT HIM. · Representatives -- The Sevierville area is in the territory of Jummy Duncan. A staunch Republican and fiscal conservative. He is a great friend to gun owners. I'm sure others will have additional information and opinions as well. This should get you (...and them...) started. Glad to have ya! Kind regards, Leroy

  5. Dear fellow gun aficionados:____________ I believe that the overwhelming reason that revolvers have been pushed to the background in the "main stream" of new gun sales is as follows: Revolvers have been cast on the scrap heap of the police and military sector. For the military; since about 1911 and for the police since the 9 mm revolution of the early eighties. The gun press has spilled tank cars of ink telling folks that they need a pistol that shoots a gigillion times at all times. A revolver shoots 5 or 6 times. The big hitter: CNC machining technology has improved the manufacturing processes for all small parts to the extent that semi auto pistols that used to cost several thousands of dollars from custom gunsmiths who were relatively few in number, can be bought in today’s market at about $800 to whatever you are willing to pay, and are off the shelf items. Makers like Glock did something that no one had thought of before. They made a pistol with a frame made out of used plastic coke bottles that was ultra reliable and cheap. This is a great technological break thru and a revolutionary concept. For the most part, the big names in revolver making were traditionally headquartered in the North East. That means the union has had them organized for years. Union labor contributes to the cost of production. If it weren't for government contracts (...which give incentives for union labor, and punishments for foreign production, by the way...). Colt and S & W would already be dead. Nobody wants to give $1000 for a revolver that ought to cost $500. Now, having said all these heinous things about the poor revolver, i want to say some good things: I_Like_Pie hit the nail square on the head here; and summarized the whole issue as well as it could be said: Revolvers are dead reliable for several lifetimes if taken care of. Revolvers are as quick as anything out there if they are shot double action. A revolver will be in a dead heat for shooting with any semi auto IF the revolver man knows how to shoot double action. Every real student of handguns should own a revolver or two so he can really appreciate how well they work. Every student of history should own a revolver because they are a genuine part of American history. I say: "Collect 'em all"! Thus endeth the dissertation. Kind regards, Leroy
  6. More interesting reading from "The Hill" blog (...link here:Mack ® compares Ariz. law to Nazi Germany - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room...). Spoken by US Congressman Connie Mack, Jr, Story here (...note the "money" sentence in red in the article...): Mack is the sitting Republican Congressman from Florida's Fourteenth district. West coast of Florida. Naples to Port Charlotte. A couple of things about this "opposition" interest me about his outraged pronouncements: 1. He aint got the problem that the folks in AZ have; yet he is "outraged" by their solution. There aint a common border between Florida and Mexico. Why is it that as smart as Congressman Mack is, he hasn’t thought of or supported the idea of enforcement of border security at the Federal Level? We used to do that (...years ago, of course...). I suspect that Congressman Mack is aware of that. 2. Plenty of yards to mow, beds to make, retirement cottages (...and palaces...) to build in his district --- you get the picture. Recon where that labor comes from? My take is Connie Mack Jr. could care less about anything other than cheap labor and Hispanic votes. Pandering, pure and simple. Notice Rubio's objection ---He is a Republican from Miami. He needs votes too. Interesting isn’t it. It appears to me that both Mack and Rubio are guilty of shameless pandering. I also find Mr. Mack's "Nazi" comments offensive. I suspect that the real residents of his district will too, if they get widely reported, that is. How about you? Food for thought. Leroy
  7. I think this is a great truth; but I believe there is another component of this issue that has not been discussed nor reported much. I believe that one of the greatest factors in this move is that AZ got tired of their citizens being murdered and pushed around in ranches along the border by the Mexican Drug Cartel and other Mexican trash that own the border now and continue to operate with impunity (...and seeming immunity... from being punished. Remember, there are still two Border Patrol officers sitting in jail over this --- it happened on the Bush watch---he refused to pardon them----they were jailed by justice department bureaucrats….). The Federal Government has continued to refuse to do anything about it. This whole issue is being perpetuated to large extent by a political class that does not have any problems on their borders (...read that all the states that don’t border Mexico who have foolish representation, both Republican and Demorat, who are courting the Latino vote with an eye toward politics...). The fact is that an overwhelming majority of the citizens of this country DO NOT WANT AN OPEN BORDER BETWEEN MEXICO AND THE USA; but the political class has allowed a "shadow" open border thru refusal to act and orders to the bureaucracy. The current administration certainly doesn’t want to close the border because of the obvious pandering to the illegal Latino community with the goal of adding more serfs to govern to increase the voting base. An important, but secondary, effect of it is the reduction in illegal labor in the construction, yard mowing, and other such industries. I firmly believe that it is a start in the right direction for individual states that are much closer to the voters of the state than the federal government is. This issue aint about putting illegal day workers out of a job; as some would have you believe. It is about a combination of the abuse of federal power by individuals in both political parties and the use of federal authority and power to punish any within government who would presume to actually enforce the laws of this country. It is about the will of the individual people in individual states to feel secure in their own property. Food for thought. Keep up the good work, Leroy
  8. I like it!!! It is, in fact, a "proscecution for profit" scheme. Leroy

I like the glocks to carry. Any of the 1911's to shoot and look at. Kind regards, Leroy
  10. Dear fellow shooters:___________ I have decided to build a long range precision AR. I will be shooting from 68 to 80 grain pills thru this one. I am seeking your opinions on barrel length, twist, barrel manufacturer, ect, ect, and good loads for this combination. This rifle will be a flat top with a 6 power or above scope. I would like to see a .5 to .75 moa rifle at 300 + yards. Please provide your opinions on these weighty questions. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Leroy
  11. Amen brother!! What a truth. I (...and many others, im sure...) are joining you in lining up to pee on this piece of trash's grave. His legacy shows what a public relations makeover can do. He has been rescued from: Murder or at least criminally neglegent homicide. Treason Extreme debauchery The upside is that he is finally gone. Good riddance. Leroy
  12. Thanks for the post. I saw the article the other day on Drudge. Didn't think to post it. Kind regards, Leroy
  13. Amen brother!! I heartily agree. Maybe we should start on the Great Danes now. I vote for the size of the Great Dane and the disposition (...toward aliens...) of the great German Shepherd (...the nuclear guard dog type...). Keep watching the skies!! Kind regards, "Tinfoil" Leroy
  14. Greg:___________ I bought too many too!! Sixty eight grainers and seventy fives. Thanks for the "heads up". Kind regards, Leroy
  15. Sad story about the "killing" of police dog. Link here: No charges in stabbing death of police dog Text here: On a more sober note, this is a sad story. I am a great fan of the fearless police dog. He will readily give his all to defend his master and eat up bad guys. It is a sad day when they get out of their pens and eat up the neighbors (...which appears to be what happened here...). It is sad, indeed. Yoris -- Rest in Peace Leroy
  16. Emily:____________ I would let it soak until all the buildup is soft and can be wiped or swabbed away easily. The Hoppes will not hurt anything like the blueing or parkerizing. Hope this helps. Kind regrds, Leroy
  17. Fellow believers; more valuable information on the subject of extra terrestrials by that noted gimp and pseudo scientist Stephen Hawking: Link here: Don’t talk to aliens, warns Stephen Hawking - Times Online Story here: Remember, they are out there and they are comming here. Dont talk to them, you may make em mad. Watching the skys. "Tinfoil" Leroy
  18. All:____________ This is posted in a spirit of "know your enemy". It is an interesting read from a noted commie philosopher and MIT professor, Noam Chomsky (...bio here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_Chomsky...). Chomsky is 81 years old, an avowed hater of the US, and a socialist at heart. He is the pinnacle of academia in the US. The link to the essay is here: Facing the Threat from the Far Right, Noam Chomsky Says He 'Has Never Seen Anything Like This' | | AlterNet In true commie form; he has made the Pravda blog. Link here:Noam Chomsky Has ‘Never Seen Anything Like This’ Text below: I believe that it is a good thing to have socialist trash like Chomsky afraid of the "far right". Keep up the good work. Remember, there is an election in November. Vote early and often!!! Keep up the good work. Leroy
  19. Thanks Curious. Sorry to make ya have to work to find out. I really appreciate it. Kind regards, Leroy
  20. Curious:___________ What taper crimp die do you use (... ive got an RCBS and Dillon...); and what diameter reduction do you crimp to? I'm about to load some 200 grain Rainiers. Havent looked at what the reduction diameter should be. Kind regards, Leroy
  21. Glad it worked. Drop us a note and let us know if the pistol will feed reliably when you take it to the range. Kind regards, Leroy
  22. I love this post!! Funny and full of truth!!! I salute you!!! You need to be wary of unelected bureaucrats. Do a google search on New Orleans during Katrina. A little closer to home; listen to the pronouncements of the various chiefs of police in Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, and Knoxville --- then decide for yourselves who is the greatest threat. RE: Young military leadership: Right on target. I personally know several of these kids!! They give me hope for the future (...and im a terrible cynic...). Thank God for these great young people. Keep up the good work!! Kind regards, Leroy
  23. You might try seating the front edge of the wadcutter exactly flush with the edge of the brass and see if they feed. Sometimes that will work. Hope this heips Kind regards, Leroy
  24. We use oooo steel wool and truoil. I like this cleaner too; per Bearman's post: Lemon oil is good stuff. We use it on banjo and guitar fingerboards. If things are really dirty, you might want to use Murphys Oil Soap to clean the stock up first. Hope this heips Kind regards, Leroy
  25. Thanks for posting the pictures. Great looking bunch of hardware. Kind regards, Leroy
