  1. Like others, I've found the show lame and thankfully, I use DVR, using it, I fast forward the chatter parts.     Travis:  I know where this is going, a "B" type positive personality, tries to appease everyone.  He's almost useless.  Overall, he does not get it.   Strand:  "A" type personality, want's everything his way.  Doesn't care about anyone else.  What is his goal?  Something is up with him as for he to end up in the military jail.     Daniel:  He gets it, but not a good chaperone.     Nick:  I still have issues that a herion addict is to become the hero.  To give benefit of the doubt, he does grasp the entire situation.   Rest of the kids, especially Travis' boy, they are grasping the situation.     Slotted for another season?  I won't be suprised it ends after this season.  I'm watching it since there is nothing else on.
  2. Over the weekend, I visited the Carroll County Shooting Park located a couple of miles off Highway 22 north of Huntingdon, TN.  It's a large park that include two shotgun ranges, 300 yard rifle range and a competative handgun range.  I competed in the handgun range where some events were timed, others for accuracy.     The park is fairly new and additions are coming to include a 3-gun range.   Park is not open during the winter months and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.   Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, open 2 to dusk.   Saturday, 10 am to dusk.   Park phone number is 731-418-1813
  3. Rick and/or company has dealings with Negan's faction twice.  1) Darryl, Abraham, Sasha run into some on way back to Alexandria (about 2 months prior), and they kill about 1/2 dozen of them.  2) Night before last (March 6), Rick's & Co. hit the compound, kill about 24 of the "Saviors".  At the end, Carol and Maggie are captured and according to the teaser on TWD, there are about 4 and not any of them are Negan.   I believe Alexandrians made the right choice to make the pre-emptive strike.  It would only be a matter of time before the Saviors found them.  Other than attack, an option would be for the Hilltop community abandon the site and move to Alexandria.   One question Rick had was not answered, "How many?" in reference to the Saviors.  In 2 months (TV time), they lost about 30, how many are out on supply or rogue runs?     What's left of the Saviors will figure out the Hilltop were involved in the attack, they could very well expect a revenge attack.   I will re-watch the episode, at the end the team left the building through the motor pool, the vehicles were backed in (In Army, we called it "combat roll") .  How many vehicles were there?  Were there any impressions of missing vehicles?   I am concerned about one thing, 2 members of Rick's group left in a Savior camper for a 2 week supply run.  That camper truck will stick out like a sore thumb and be easy prey of any Saviors running around.....
  4. Last night's episode, I thought I was watching the PC game "Age of Empires".
  5. I work at DCS (Dresden Office), only situation we've had was a foster parent (whom was a police officer, but not an Officer in Weakley County) had his service weapon on him during a meeting.  There was a fuss about the matter, I don't recall what ever happened.   DCS Youth Development Centers, such as Woodland Hills in Nashville, Wilder in Somerville and Mountain View in Dandridge, on occasion will have THP come to the parking lots and do mass searches.
  6. After Sandy Hook, there was an attempt for the "Universal background checks" thus would end private transfer.  From my observations, the gun dealers didn't object, heck, they'd cash in on the background checks.  What I found most disturbing that is a gun owner left home for more than 7 days (I think that was the number), he would legally have to transfer those weapons to someone, and then upon return, transfer back.  This could be a cash cow for gun dealers.  I am retired from the Guard and no longer go on deployments, annual training, etc.  I pointed out to my former Guard company Facebook page to ask the bill was opposed, since comply with the law would be costly, but also if the Spouse, girlfriend or significant other had a arguement with you, he/she could sell the guns at yard sale prices and when Private Smith returns, guns are gone and nothing can be done about it.   From what I can see the proposed EO is a water down version of the Senate bill that died.  ATF is under the Executive branch.  Now, how to enforce all the sales between Joe and Fred, who knows?
  7. Like one earlier 3 out of 4 people won't notice anyone "printing" or OCing in the first place.  While on vacation in May, I had my Glock 17 concealed by a shirt in Orange Beach, AL.  While driving around, we crossed into Florida and while there we made our grocery store stop.  I store clerk noticed my Glock, I told him I have a permit to carry and conversation ended soon afterwards on a positive note.  Then I remember, I am in Florida where OC much less "printing" is a no-no.  We went on your way back to AL.     I've tried the IWB holsters and they don't work for me.  I am currently a big fan of Undertech shirts and it works very well for me, both winter and summer.
  8. "Was that zombie blood leaking through the wall or the wall cracking?"   Good question
  9. 60 minutes of my life I won't get back, back-to-back episodes that did very little for me.  Well, Maggie is pregnant, no suprise there.  Deanna going around shell-shocked, confirmed my suspicions, she was a Democrat while in Congress.
  10.     Internet Movie firearm database for TWD Season 6     http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Walking_Dead,_The_-_Season_6
  11. When Morgan left the house in Georgia, he was carrying the AR-15, I don't recall if he still had the weapon.  I did observe that some of the survivors don't have the weapons with them when they left somewhere and re-appeared somewhere else.  For example, Beth had an AR when she and Darryl left the prison in a hurry, but didnt' have it later.     I am the first to discard something when it's no longer of value or use.  But an AR even without ammo, it's totally useless in that at some point down the road, .223 or 5.56mm ammo can be found.  Rick's Python would have been traded for a 9mm in Season 1.
  12. From over 1 million view, this is an old story, but nevertheless important.  Not, that the thug's family had a say, but why they had a say at all.  Family raised a thug and they can reap what they sow.
  13. I agree, I ended up fast forwarding the last few minutes and didn't bother watching "Talking Dead".
  14.   Last season, I wondered the teenage girl was a Wolf spy as well.  Back story shown at beginning of the episode proved to be the opposite.  She has severe PTSD which causes her to be distant to everyone.     The Wolves had information of the town but not good intell, if so, they would have headed straight to the armory.     Wolves spent a lot of time dismembering people instead of taking control and later return to dismember.     Morgan was the only one from the group herding the walkers to get to the town to fight the Wolves (However, Carol could do without him)   With a major operation (herding the walkers away from the town) 1/2 the townsfolks involved in that operation, rest of the town should have been on full alert.   The few Wolves that Morgan let go, one of them restrieved something from a body, what was it?
  15. Wait for it to come out at the Redbox and don't have to worry about being wanded.
  16. Finally caught up on the episode, we arrived home late Sunday night to watch the episode.   At first, I thought the Wolves put the walkers in the quarry, however, it's been there since the beginning and Rick was right, that was the reason the community survived was the walker were lured elsewhere.  However, senior leadership at the community were basically unaware of the large number of walkers.  I recall at the beginning of the Alexandria episode, that the supply runs were going out 50 miles in a half-moon shape from Alexandria.   Having to do something with the walkers, I agree, but to try to lure them 20 miles and hope they don't come back????  I question the decision.  What about setting up barriers such as what Morgan had in King County, but in muliple layers?   Overall, walkers will need to be killed off and luring away or trapping is only temporary.   All appeared to go to plan and sirens at Alexandria......I assume the Wolves are involved in that.
  17. Gun matters going to the Supreme Court does concern me.....all the eggs in one basket.
  18. I believe Strand is a user of others and he'll keep the group around as long as he needs them, but when he doesn't he'lll boat away.
  19. “Cobolt” episode begins to make sense of the entire season.  I recall in the first episode of TWD when Rick leaves the hospital goes outside to see row after row of bodies with a blood mark at the head of all the sheets.  The undesirables were put down by military order.   The con man in the detention center; he got the bearded mentally challenged guy worked up to get him out of the cell.  Can’t figure out if this guy was a business man making big $$$ deals or a pimp with street wise sense???  If a business man, why he is in the undesirable center?  True, the heroin addict can get and find things of need, but that is from an addiction.  I could imagine once out of the cell, he’ll be kicked to the curb.   Daniel has a grasp of the entire situation and will do what it takes to survive.  His wife is gone, (but doesn’t know it yet) but can he go on when is daughter doesn’t make it.  She is not cut out for it at this time.   Now that we know Travis and Madison know what the military is up to, what will they do next?   I liked the idea of the military squads going out on the hunter-killer mission seeking out the walkers and killing them.  But with the “Cobolt” code word and they will kill the non-walkers, how long will the military stay on focus?  Remember when the Gov. and company ran across the Guardsman in Georgia?  They ambushed them immediately, maybe this was the standard practice nationwide and why survivors later didn’t have any trust with those wearing ACU’s??
  20. “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes”   I’ve been playing the geocaching sport for 10 going on 11 years.  And, one of the very positive aspects of this game are the people I’ve me and befriended.  Prior to my consolidation of my work phone to my personal phone, there were more cachers in my contact list than family.  Outside of finding caches on private residential property, I have been to more homes of fellow cachers than members of the church I attend.   As a whole, we help each other out, via phone-a-friend, tagging along on cache runs and just plain ole fellowship.  Once, prior to a trip to Michigan, I contacted cachers in the area where I would be hunting and one replied giving me his phone number for PAF.  He asked about my agenda and on a Sunday, he suggested that we meet and I along with my daughter got a personal tour of Windsor, Ontario that was very enlightening.  When asked I have provided personal cache tours of my home region.  I have called upon my caching friends when my truck broke down in Millington, provided transportation from Memphis to Jackson when I returned from Kuwait on R&R and last year, asked a geo-couple from Nashville to keep my truck at their house as my family flew to Florida, saving me over $70 in parking fees.   Because of the game I have re-taken/taken up/ or increased my activity:  Scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and disc golf. As for my geo-accomplishments:    I am one of less than 1% in the game to complete the 81 terrain/difficultly grid. Have over 4,800 finds in total, occurring in four countries (US, Canada, Kuwait, Iraq ((last country earning me the title of combat cacher))), 26 US states and one district.    Been to and experience the sites of: Fall Creek Falls, TN USS Alabama in Mobile, AL Empire State Building, NYC Disney World Magic Kingsdom Alien Museum in Roswell, NM Southern most point in US Carlsbad Caverns, NM Grotto in Memphis St. Louis Arch Elvis Presley birthplace in Tupelo, MS Covered Bridge in Trimble, TN Lamberts in Sikeston, MO Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, TN   Battlefields at:  Yorktown, VA, Paducah, KY, Franklin, TN, Hartsville, TN, Nashville, TN, Confederate Mass grave near Hatchie River   Final resting places or places of death of: Chicken George (of Roots) Alex Haley Gen. Forrest Birdman of Alcatraz Stonewall Jackson (to include his main grave, where arm is buried and where he died) Johnny Cash Minnie Pearl
  21. More of my focus was being armed with a rifle when LEO arrived.     Geocache has been in my yard 9 years and if the cachers had come by 3-4 hours earlier, this would have been an uneventful encounter.  As stated, the cache in the yard has been found about 70 times and never had any prior issue.      As a whole, geocachers are the most friendly people around where I have met players while on the trail and others as they seek the treasure.
  22. My wife and I geocache and she set up a 2 stage multi cache in are large front yard in a rural area and it's been there for 9 years and just about 70 visits.  About 1/2 of the finds, we never knew anyone was there and most come in daytime or during early evening hours.  It's a general rule in this game not to seek hides on private property very late at night, such as midnight.   Last night, my wife awoke me about midnight or so, I look out the window and see tail lights leaving my driveway; it registered a moment or two later that if I saw tail lights, it meant the car came all the way and turned around.  This alerted me and I got the AR-15 out.  I keep an eye outside and see people heading up on foot, this got my DEFCON alert at a higher level, I went outside to watch.  Wife was on the phone with dispatch.  Being that I work Juvenile Justice with DCS, she is always concerned we'd get a visit from a current or former case that we had negative relationship and I do work the county that I reside.     When I saw the flashlights, I eased my concern and knew they were geocachers, and swung my AR on my back.  Deputies showed up and intentionally kept my rifle slinged on my back with barrel pointed down.  The deputies saw me and I kept my hands in view, weapon on my back.  They were not alarmed; the questioned the cachers, running the ID's and counseled them about playing this game this late at night, pointing at my AR, that they could have been shot.     I spoke to the cachers after the deputies departed, they were very new to the game, I've played for over 10 years and since they used smartphones in a low or no signal area, I counseled them that they get a real Garmin to obtain better readings and not be playing this game after midnight in most areas, like residential and urban parks and etc.     Further discussion, 2 of the 3 cachers were carrying long knives in sheaths, in which, I don't know much about the knife laws and I usually carry a handgun when I play.     Only other time I had an LEO visit and came out armed, we found a car parked in my driveway.  At the time (many years ago) I didn't have the toys like I have today and came out with a .357 mag revolver in my hand, saw it was LEO; I left the gun back in the house and asked the deputy if everything was OK.
  23. At first read of this article, I am about to go ballestic and ready to email my State Rep.   I am wondering the creditablity of this article.
  24. I’ve caught up on the show; it’s been a busy time last week and weekend.  Glad to have a DVR and with few of my Facebook friend watching or commenting on the show, it’s not being spoiled for me. I’ve concluded, in some form, that I am reading:  Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, after already read Revelation….knowing the much outcome before knowing the beginning, having watched “The Walking Dead”.     Show begins very slowly for me and at times I am losing my interest, especially when the women are talking to each other.  Again thanks for DVR, I can fast-forward.  I have had some moments yelling at the TV:  “Loading with bird shot??”  “Going back to a house to get ammo, alone??!!!” What appears is going to be the main cast and possible heroes are questionable to me, but one thing I look at and like “TWD” where middle guys become the leaders, such as the Governor, etc, is that when TSHFT situation, the people who deal with problems head on are or will be gone:  Such as police, fire fighters, EMT’s, military people especially the Infantry and other combat arms.   Madison Clark, like Andrea, appears to have some grasp of the situation, but will she toughen up like Andrea?   Travis Manawa, has a level head, but concerned if he can make the tough choices later on. Nick Clark, the heroin junkie and show is leaning towards he being the hero, what a joke.  I’d pay-per-view to seek him eaten by a walker. Alicia Clark,  maybe the next Beth, needs a dose of reality. Daniel Salazar the barber appears to really have a grasp of the matter, I’d look to him to be a leader, but he has a daughter who won’t listen to him.  He’ll do what it takes to protect his family, but when one of them goes down, what then?
