  1. What we know from the neighborhood in Richmond it was hit by a group calling themselves Werewolves.  We will see it again soon.  I agree the reserved teenage girl is up to something and could be a 5th column for the Werewolves, who could also be part of the 3 exiled men.     I agree with Carol and Carl, the people in the community are soft and really not experienced what is really going on in the outside the walls.  The ROTC wannabe LT is as ate up as a soup sandwich.  I agree with Glenn, he did something to get 4 people killed.  Being a LT doens't impress me and many of us on the forum who have military experience, an officer who doesn't listen to his experienced senior NCO's is a moron and will get people killed.   Walls?????  Braces on the outside?????  I am wondering how the community made it that long???? Anyone notice there was no line of sight from the walls???   Congresswoman in charge.  I checked the 15th Congressional District, it's a back and forth district going from Dem to Rep, and back.  Could anyone imagine going to a camp and Nancy Pelosi be in charge?     Guess we will learn more in the next episode of two.
  2. At this time, I won't win any Wild West quick draw contests.
  3. Browsing the 'net I came across this company:  http://www.undertechundercover.com/   Company specializes in clothing for conceal & carry.  I have the problem of trying to carry when I have to be in dress clothing, such as church, funerals, etc.  I've tried inside the waistband (IWB) without any success.  I ordered a black V-neck t-shirt and it came in on Saturday.  I am 5'9" and about 185 pounds and wisely selected the large shirt.  Like under armor, it's mosty polyester and rest if spandex (yes, kinda looks like something from the Hair Band era!)  I wore it under my dress shirt yesterday at church and gun and shirt fetl fine.  I was concerned the weight of a Glock 17 with 17-round magazine would make the shirt sag and that was never an issue.     Before I made the purchase, I went to Amazon and found the shirt there along with many positive reviews.  For those of us who try to bridge the gap between normal day wear (bluejeans/ti-shirt) to more dress type wear;  this product maybe your solution.
  4. S5 E9 What Happened and What's going on?   Watched the program on DVR running about 25 minutes behind, staying off Facebook during that time to not have spoilers.     Episode was confusing from the start, going back and forth, did see a road sign in South Carolina.  I knew from last episode, they would not stay in Atlanta.     Rick stays in touch with Carol on handheld radio.  Commenting they were 5 or so miles away.  Myself being a Vol. Fire Fighter, I know in best conditions my radio can function to about 15 miles, but works best when well under 10.  I did wonder how they charge the radio?  I assume, they grabbed some ideas from the hospital where the people there used excersie equipment to produce electricty.     They wisely park by some wrecked vehicles to make it look like their truck is part of the wreck scene.  Walk up to Noah's old neighborhood, he wants to look around.  Even finding his own house.  What got me that in all the other episodes, it was ordered at beginning of the outbreak, people should head to areas such as refugee camps (in which that was the worse thing to do) but Noah's family and possibly neighbors stated put.  They also fenced in the area.  But, (unless I missed something), did little for fortify their own houses.  Also, did anyone notice, of Rick's group, only two had firearms, and those being handguns????  I am assuming the ammo has run out.     Michone is getting fed up with being on the move, which is very much unlike her since she has been a moving type since we first met her.     Noah, very doubtful he will survive the season, he is more useless than Eugene and can't take care of himself.     Tyress, has fought up to a dozen walkers with a hammer but is taking down by one of Noah's twin brothers who is a walker.  He knew there were walkers in the house and didn't clear the house before making a search.     The episode director intentionally mislead the viewers during the entire episode with many sub-mystery plots to be solved later.  There is also something about wolves.  Something we didn't think about, What about the wildlife?  Of course, domesicated animals, pigs, cows, etc would be found and eaten by walkers.  Deer would be eaten by walkers, until they learn to stay away.  Wolves, a natural predator, fast enough to get away from walkers, go in packs for protection and hunting more effective.  Wolves will figure out which humans are walkers and hunt the non-walkers.
  5. In next few days, I am going to draft a letter to my rep. about this situation where two groups are advocating the harrassment and even violence towards legal handgun carriers.
  6. My wife, 12 year daughter and myself fly from Nashville to Panama City Beach, FL last Oct.  I've flown many times, my wife twice but that was 20 years ago.  On the way, I was giving instruction of what to do and not do.  I said that since I was checking in a gun (my first time on commercial and not as military) I didn't want to be bothered with silly chatter questions.  As we headed into Nashville to meet with friends where I would keep my truck (I didn't want to pay $75+ for long term parking) my wife asked about some lotion she had out.  I told her to place in check bag and everything will be fine.   It wasn't fine, she didn't inquire the difference between checked bag and carry on bag and TSA took two bottles of lotion that were over 4 oz.     As for myself and my gun....we were fine.
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4bC8M7ZcRg&list=UUruQg25yVBppUWjza8AlyZA   TV report from near Dallas, TX.  Officer has his sidearm out, pointing at the kids and they act really stupid…only second(s) away from being shot.     I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and when Iraqis were doing something stupid near my, I'd point my M-16 or the M-2 at them and they stopped being stupid.  The clowns in the above video don't seem to care one bit that someone has a gun pointed at them.
  8. "how does that work what do you have to do or not do"   There is a trend "Flying Commerical" that I posted before my flight.  This was the first time as non-military, that I flew with a weapon.   Flying Southwest, we did not do the curbside check in, went to inside counter.  First thing I said when placing my bag on the low counter "I have a weapon to declare"   Using a two lock plastic hard case (bought at Rural King for about $15) I displayed the weapon from the box, never picking up the gun.  Had slide to the rear, action where the agent could see the gun was unloaded.  Magazine was unloaded, box of ammo in the case as well.  Use the box that the ammo was purchased, NEVER use a plastic baggie to store the rounds.  They tagged the box and off went the suitcase.   I was asked by the agent to stand around for 15 min before going through TSA if there a problem, I could be contacted.  Waited 15 min, boarded out flight.  Arrived in Panama City Beach airport, picked up my bag and off to the hotel.   Trip back was about the same, only the agent didn't ask that I stand in lobby before going through TSA.  I guess it was such a small airport, I wouldn't be hard to locate.  Arrived in Nashville, grabbed my suitcase and went home.
  9. I get hit with the urge often and I try to be very selective of my location.  I have found Lowe's to have the best restrooms, followed by a Wal-Mart Supercenter and using the restroom in the back area not the front.  I carry a Glock 17 much of the time and when loaded with 17 rounds, can be heavy.   Going to a restoom with multi-holes (accomadates more than one in the room), even taking a leak, I will use the stall to keep my weapon hidden.  I attempt to use the last stall or a stall where my gun side is against a wall.  Since, I am a pull to the knees type, I don't worry about what is seen from the floor.     Never to I leave my weapon on the TP roll or somewhere in the stall.  I have been having problems with memory and the through of leaving my gun at a public restroom would worry me very much.
  10. News was all over Facebook yesterday.  News today, the police chief withdraw his idea.
  11. Took the family to Panama City Beach, FL by air from Nashville in October.  We flew commercial and I had no problems checking in my handgun at the airport.     I have a TN HCP and Florida does not allow open carry, even the shirt rising up can bring problems.  Left the Glock 17 at home and went with my smaller Kel-Tec P11.  Carried the entire time and everywhere we went and didn't have any problems.
  12. I haven't been to a hockey game in Nashville, but have been to a view Titans games and it get wanded every time.
  13.   Michonne used two walkers has to haul her bags.
  14. Watchiing last week's episode prior to the new episode, something dawned on me.  When Abraham and Co. topped the hills and saw the hordes of walkers, I figured it was a FEMA camp, but after seeing it again, it was a massive hog farm and the large amount of hogs lured the walkers to the site.   Darryl and Carol go into the city to find Beth, more flashbacks in the episode; Carol has to deal with being a beaten wife syndrome once again visting the domestic abuse shelter, which was amazingly mostly free of walkers.     Walkway between the buildings, good place for temporay refuge during the early days of the outbreak.  Controlled access from 2 points and off the ground.  However, with walkers in the sleeping bags, it's apprarent, the group was murdered, I didn't see any weapons lying around.  (That segment is the main reason I will re-watch the episode this week).  Later, Darryl, like he did at the funeral home, someone (or somethings) gets the best of him and he is not following situational awareness.  Noah who is following them without a weapon, doesn't realize who he is dealing with.   Was caught by suprise that both survivors would upend themselves in a van to get away from walkers, but being without any weapons, there were not many options.   They both end up at same location of Noah once again.  I've concluded that Noah has not plan at all and the surviviors will not be able to depend on Noah.   After being saved by Carol, Noah gets scared knowing the police officers from the hospital will be on them soon.  It's not like Darryl to run from a fight.
  15. Show is at a turning point, what will Abraham do now?    I have not read the comics but feel like some of those, that Eugene was full of it.  I really sensed something at the church when Eugene didn't want to go.  Then later he tells Tara ( was was horny) that he sabatoged the van, Tara lost her mood at that pont.   As for Abraham who wanted to drive through the horde of walkers, he has lost it at that point.....if not before.   Can Eugene be of benefit for the group from here on out.....very doubtful.    I am a volunteer fire fighter with some pumper training and can tell you the deck gun won't shoot out water without the engine running (but I know it's Hollywood).  Truck has a 500, or 1000 or 1500 gallon tank, depending on the model.  A deck gun will run out that tank very quickly.
  16. I was not very impressed with the episode; I hope it will add to the storyline at some point.   Group at the hospital savenaps (kidnaps) survivors, help them out so they can "owe" back later.  OK, going around kidnapping survivors, give them medical care so they can mop floors and iron laundry?????  Sounds like Dawn is on a power trip.  I did notice her uniform and other police officers were very clean and pressed.  When Rick left Kings County for Atlanta, he was in a clean and pressed uniform.....it didn't stay that way long.  And other than the belt for his gun and handcuffs, there is no more indication of his law enforcement past.  Carl wears the hunt and there isn't much left of that hat.    I am not making sense of the episode, but can see that if the powers to be are getting survivors to join them, they would want people that will submit themselves.  Dawn is looking at Beth as being weak, which she makes a valid point of the scar for the past suicide attempt.    Of the prison escapees, I considered Beth to be the weakest, If I were in that situation of being overrun and had to chose one other to make a run with, Beth would have been my last choice.   I figure Joen has been a past guest of the hospital and didn't leave a good comment on the survey.
  17. "Hey, this is the walking dead with the black man replacement plan. Bob dies, Gabriel is there to take his place."   Affirmative action in the Walking Dead world????  Guess we will know in a couple of weeks.  Next episode will center around Beth.
  18. Tainted meat scene angered the Terminates and they had to do something with Bob.  Take him back to terrorize Rick's group, Bob die/turn against Rick's clan?   Glad to see that the Terminates were finished off and not keep going for several episodes or to next season.   Abraham and co. left, that I predicted, he is on a mission and he'll stick to that mission.  Has good company with Maggie and Glenn, I think Tara is along for that ride.  If I would Abraham, I would trade Tara for Michone or Sasha, either one of them can get nasty when the time comes.     Darryl has returned, but unknown who is with him (Carol?, Beth?, Morgan? or someone else?)     Rick and co. may depart soon.  Question, would he take Gabriel with him?  For me, a solid hell no.  Gabriel sold out his flock about 2 weeks into the virus breakout, (to save himself) IMHO, he loses his standing Man of God.  He would not appear to be an asset.  But I do see something.  Throughout the series, there has been an older man to be the moral compass, such as Dale and Hershel.  Gabriel could provide that, but I don't think Rick would stand for it.  Maybe best to depart, leave Gabriel, some supplies, a weapon or two (ammo) from the terminated Terminates and say "Have a nice day".
  19. In TWD episode when we learned of SGT. Abraharm, Eugene and Rostia, they showed up in a 5-ton cargo truck.  As for vehicles, I would avoid military vehicles, they are rugged, but I have deployed to Iraq (1991, 2013, 2010), military vehicles require a lot of maintenance.  Hummers break down very often.    Going back to the 5-ton cargo, it could be an anti-walker vehicle.  Since it has power and is high off the ground.  Bed is high off the ground for wallkers not simply climb in.   Driver with his own weapon.  Co-driver with a semi-auto rifle (such as AR-15), front window can be pushed up to shoot forward.   In the bed for the truck: (No need for a ring mount .50 caliber or other type of automatic weapon, since they are nearly useless against walkers)   Nest of shooters: One facing foward shooting over the top of the truck. 2 shooters on each side. 2 shooters in the back.  one person in the center of the bed to help out as a shooter and supply ammo.
  20.   As for the scratches on carvings on the church, I think the pastor barricaded himself into the church hording the food and his flock was attempting to get in.  I did notice the walker church lady was in the main food pantry in town and the pastor was not going to defend himself.
  21. 2 years onto this Walker world and group runs into someone (Father Gaberial) who does not have a full understanding of the walkers.  I would figure that within 6 months after the outbreak, 100% of survivors would have an understanding along with several traumatic events dealing with walkers or rogue survivor elements.    Group goes to the church which does not have the first form of any defensive measures.  I am getting the feel that something ain't right????  I feel the same as Rick, the pastor is hiding something.   Group sub-splits into small groups for supply runs.  I could understand Rick taking the pastor with him.  It almost goes really bad at the food pantry.  Group gets back together for a good meal, Abraham uses the right time to give the D.C approach.  All in favor.  Overall, sounds good, might as well hit the road and get further away from Terminus.   After dinner, people split up.  Carol sneaks away to the car, she decides she needs to make a path of her own.  Darryl is smart enough to know that Carol is up to something.  She starts the car and they see the car going by that Beth was taken.  They'll go after it, rest of the group has no idea where they are.  This will begin a plot split like we had when the prison was overun.   Bob goes outside crying about something, he has past demons he can't seem to part with.  Gets knocked out by Termites and leg eaten.  With 3 people missing, the group will have to decide what to do.   The carvings on the trees have me puzzled.  I feel the Pastor is hiding something, I am thinking he sold our survivors to Terminus.
  22. Delayed response, I've been on vacation in Florida, did watch the show at the hotel, will re-watch on DVR again this week.   Rick's gun is not a .44 mag but a .357 mag Python.  But maybe Rick was playing into Gaerth?   Carol is much desired now, from meak beaten housewife to a leader and fighter.  It's been a while since a survivor masked themselves completely as a walker.  I assume she grabbed the scoped M-4 from the Terminus guy at the shack?   Terminus folks ran the place like an SS death camp, efficient, business like and no feelings.  The dude on the slab being carved up was the one that Rick was holding a .45 to in last episode.  I did notice the kill floor was very clean, looked it could pass a USDA inspection.   When Terminus folks were fighting off the walker herd, shooting from the hip??? in auto fire????  Like Darryl said in first season's epside one or two, "ain't you guys learned nuttin'?"    The scientist: either is a good at dazzling with brillance or he is baffeling with BS.  I hope it's the former.    Group broke out of Terminus, glad that happened first episode and not drag out through the season.  I feel the group will regret the decision to move on and not take out the folks (especially Gaeth).
  23. Currenty stil in Panama City Beach, FL.  Yes, I checked my Kel-Tec at the Southwest counter and was a very painless procedure.  TSA didn't bother my anymore than usual....I get padded down every time.  Only issue was my wife had hair spray and foot lotion in her carry-on and pulled to the side.
  24. I don't pay much attention to actors and their political views.  But on a positive note, here are many of Norman's (Dixon) Walker kills on TWD.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iStg0LHLK1I
