  1. Got the cath out Monday and doing well. Not a lot of pain at all. Cath was a real bother. Now hoping for good results. Dr said we will know in a month. Got some residual swelling but should go away in 2 to 3 weeks and things will be back to as normal as possible. So far, I would recommend the Resume procedure and for sure if good results happen.
  2. Going to get my Deer Rifle out and sighted in for deer season. May take a poke at one this year. If not, will enjoy sighting in the rifle.

    Ruger LCP-Max

Colt Pocketlite for me when I carried a 380. Worked fine for years. Edited to add; never felt totally comfortable armed with the 380.
  4. Granddaughter got the shot but grandson refused. Get the shots! It ain't going away and the shots are your only defense against it. Most who get Coved, and are vaccinated, are NOT dying.
  5. Our 2 children got their first shots this afternoon. Now should have 70% immunity. Need other shot, after one month, for possible 90 to 95% immunity. Most of the people who are passing away have not been vaccinated. My other 2 daughters have been fully vaccinated, including my wife and I. Get the shots! We are working on our twin 17 Y O s, and hope they get it. Our Rutherford County schools are rotten with coved right now. Their mother is trying to get them Phyzer now. Other two vaccines are not approved for under 18.
  6. Nothing wrong with a 40 and the recoil is a bit heavier/snappier, but no problem to control.
  7. I am truly thankful my last 2 daughters have decided to get their families Vaccinated for Coved. We have been pleading with them. My wife just lost a great nephew and his dad is on a ventilator now. Both were not vaccinated, and one has paid a great price because of it. We are praying for the nephew and things are not looking good at present. He has been on the ventilator for 2 weeks tomorrow. I just hope my daughters, and their families have time to get this accomplished and get fully vaccinated. I am going to try and get a booster in October.
  8. My experience with trading, they will allow you half what your gun is worth on trade-in. I have always had better luck selling myself.
  9. Not a lot of pain this morning. Got a cath and feel like I need to urinate constantly. Other than dealing with the bag doing great. Expecting a more pain after the cath comes out on Monday, so I have been told.
  10. Wife just lost her great nephew (41 Y O) to Coved this morning in Lebanon TN. His dad, in Murfreesboro St Thomas Ruth, was put on a ventilator this weekend and getting worse. His wife, and Charlie's mother had the shots. GET THE SHOTS. Best chance to survive coved, IMO.
  11. Had the procedure this afternoon. So far so good. Took about an hour with the DR in the his office. Got there at 3:30, home by 5:30. Not a lot of pain. Came home with a cath and bag on my leg and need to keep it until Monday then go back to have it removed. Said may have swelling and blood in urin, but not to be overly concerned unless excessive. So far, not a bad experience.
  12. Not a pleasant subject BUT, having a procedure done on my prostate this afternoon. Called "Rezum" and is supposed to relieve the pressure on my bladder (going often) and the restricted flow. Not looking forward to having it, but best of the 2 options I was offered. Didn't want the "Roto Rooter" process. You young whipper snappers enjoy your youth, but I will let you old guys know how it goes.
  13. Sorry he died with Coved, Seldom listened to him. My advice, GET THE SHOTS. I did. Edited to add; My wife has a nephew and great nephew, his son) with coved and one is on a ventilator and the other in intensive care 3 weeks now. Both said they wished they had gotten the shots. Sadly, too late now.
  14. Listened to a podcast on "Buckeye Firearms Newsletter" and they said the reason for limited ammo is in 2020 there were 8 and 1/2 million new gun owners that purchased their first gun and just to allow one 50 round box of ammo per new purchaser, it took all the extra ammo in stock to supply them let alone us who have been purchasing all along. The prices asked today is because of supply and demand. Supply has increased, a little, but ammo is still at a premium in price and slowly beginning to come down. Said it may be 18 more months before supply catches up with demand. My small stash is sufficient, but I have slowed my consumption in order to conserve what little I have.
  15. Pardon my ignorance, but does anyone know what Di Cut H P ammo is? S-G ammo advertises it for sale and it is advertised 50 round box-9MM Luger + P 124 Gr Di-Cut Jacketed Hollow Point Black Dot Ammo, by IMI of Israel. Anyone have any info on this ammo? It is half the cost of premium S D ammo.
  16. I am not shooting as much all the while trying to conserve my small stash. Didn't get caught this time and do have ammo on hand this time. Besides it is to hot today to get out and shoot outside. Just looked at the thermometer and it is 99 in the shade. Don't quit on me now AC.
  17. I have taken 100's of squirrels with a 410.Had a man that once purchased every one I brought to him. He kept me in money for 3 years killing rabbits, squirrels, and quail. I used Remington 3" # 6 on all, but 7 1/2 on quail. Out to 35 yards, always worked. Gave the 410 to my grandson last fall. He paid me .50 and gave me a replacement shell for every animal I brought him. Hunted rabbits with the 410 not too long ago. # 6 Remington 3". Have killed with 2 1/2" but not as good.
  18. We went to the BPS at Springfield Mo. last week. They have opened the Wonders of Outdoor Life Museum there this past fall. This store is their Nat Headquarters and is the Biggest I have been in. The Museum is great. Just for instance they have replicas of every Buck Deer that is in the record books with the info on each one. The Bone Room is big. It is worth the trip to go see it. It is first rate and the aquariums are heugh, both fresh and salt water. A multi floor experience. Spent 4 hrs there and was pressed for time. At 40.00 for seniors I thought I would be disappointed, but was not in the least.
  19. Don't know why, but the Donner Pass thing really sticks in my mind, I guess, because of what "allegedly" took place there. Yes, yes, yes, this was a great trip, a trip of a lifetime for us. YMMV
  20. Well, we are back from our 5 week trip out West. On our way out I40 we visited the Murrow Building NP in Oklahoma city and eat a steak in the remaining steak house cattle drovers eat in back in the late 1800's. Yes it is still there and serving Rattlesnake, Rocky Mountain Oysters still. Been to the NP there 3 times and it is a somber place. Also stopped by the Petrified Forest N P this time. We spent two weeks around the Grand Canyon, Page Arizona, and Kanab Utah area. There were 11 of us. My wife and I and two of our daughters and their family's. We had a great family vacation time. Those youngins keep one moving. Had 107 degree days at one point around Zion N P. Explored Zion, Bryce Canyon N P, and all the surrounding area. Our kids left us after 2 weeks. Had to go back to work. We decided to travel on and took our traveling grandson Cody with us. We traveled up through Utah and spent time around Salt Lake City. We visited Temple Square and they were working on the foundation of the Temple. Visited within the area for a couple days. Nice place. Missed seeing a keyboard friend while there in SLC, Bandaidman, who I really wanted to meet and greet. Never got his reply until it was too late. Left there and traveled across Idaho, and went through Central Oregon on to the coast. Was really surprised at the topography in C Oregon. First desert then mountains farther west. Coos Bay was a charming town along with the rugged coast of Oregon. Next was Crescent City California and we visited the Redwoods NP and was amazed at the size of those trees and the forest. My sweetie wanted to see El Capetian, so we left there and traveled south of Sacramento to Yosemite N P, and explored Yosemite Valley but did not hike a lot. Got too old for much of that. Left Yosemite and traveled back across the mountains through Donner Pass and seen the history surrounding the Donner party and their ordeal they experienced there. Snow was 22 feet deep while they were there. We then crossed north Nevada then the Salt Flats back through Salt Lake city on the way back east. Came across Wyoming and camped at Laramie. Just so happened that Cheyanne was having their "Frontier Days Festival" they have annually. Man was that a real treat. Was not able to get rodeo tickets, at 200.00 a pop, because they were sold out. My sweetie was worried because of coved and there were wall to wall people there and we were amongst them. Left there and traveled through Nebraska and there was not much to see there and we were running low on time. I was on the way to Springfield Missouri because I wanted to see the Bass Pro Shop there and the Wonders of Life Museum they have just opened there within the BPS. By the way that is their Flagg Ship store and it is a very large store. If you ever get a chance go and see that museum, it cost 40.00 to get in for seniors, and worth every penny. Spent 4 hours in there and never seen the same thing twice. It was a real treat. This was a trip of a lifetime. Cost me a bunch, but I had to pay 5.30 per gal for Diesel Fuel in California, if that tells you anything. Here in Mid TN we are paying 2.79 per gal. I am a little sad it is over because it will most probably be our last out west adventure. Kinda glad to be home for a while but will hit the trail again in Sept, L/w. Now going to get to some light farming, for a little while.

    Trunk gun

Was 107 last month in Zion N P. I was there. It was HOT!
  22. Have a Mossberg mdl 500 in 12 Ga. Had a 20 ga Mossy but ordered a long brl and gave it to a grandson to hunt with. Good shotgun at reasonable price, or once was. I gave 350.00 new for the two I had.
  23. 7 shot Taurus revolver in 38 Spl/357 Mag. Pocket carry 357 DPX in it. Second choice is MP 9 C 2.0 in IWB Aherns holster w/top strap.
  24. 45guy, 25 an hour is a bargain. Last time I checked, years ago, around Mid TN it is flat rate 100.00 per hr and lots of bond and liability ins must be provided. Plus must use off duty officers. That was several years ago. For our church just labor cost for 3 hrs on Sunday was 300.00 and bond and insurance was very expensive. We were a church of 220 nd we simply could not afford armed security at our congregation.
