  2. using a .22 is not an option due to the centerfire notation. If Pie wants to open it up to include .22's that would be good. I'm still not going to try even though my .22 single action Ruger is up to the challenge...I'm just not.
  3. For me it hurts the concealment too much. Also, my wife had the Pachmayr Compac grips for a while and went back to the factory grips for the same reason. As we all know snub are not range guns so I ditch the idea of shooting comfort in favor of the best concealment and the speed of draw. If the current grips are not allowing you to shoot the gun effectively, go with something else. Just watch the size. For me I went with the S&W wood grips. It fits my hand well and doesn't snag on any clothing during a draw. Shooting is not at all uncomfortable for me. As a bonus I think they look great. I have no desire to try any different grips.
  4. Yep...That's my understanding as well.
  5. Why don't we get enough Republicans to swap over and vote in the Democratic primary just so we can vote against Cooper and get him out in the first round? That may be the best way to get him gone. Then we can determine who's the best person for the job after that.
  6. Some good advice has been given above. As graycrait said, practice a lot with the appropriate training drills for the gun. Regarding holsters, you will find it will boil down to personal preference. Some like Kydex as noted above. For me, I prefer just a cheap Uncle Mike's pocket holster, you can pick them up for around $10 bucks. You can find these locally so the following Midway link is for reference. Uncle Mike's Inside-the-Pocket Holster Ambidextrous 5-Round Revolver, Medium Frame Semi-Automatic 2" Barrel 4-Layer Laminate Black - MidwayUSA It's the soft style and has proven to be more comfortable for me and conforms to my body better. If you find for some reason that pocket carry won't work at times, you can use other carry options. For example if I'm going to be mainly sitting or driving for a long time, I'll go with ankle carry. I also have IWB and OWB ones if the situation requires it. I carry two speed strips in a pouch as well. If you go that route I would suggest you get some dummy rounds to practice reloading. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=444108 Good luck and enjoy!
  7. +1 without a doubt
  8. Very coincidental on the timing if I do so...maybe a little too coincidental.
  9. I agree with Pie on this one. No. 2 shows up at #13 on the list, compared to Win 296 at # 72, which is a very common powder for .357. Powder Burn Rates
  10. congrats to GGP2JZ for the win congrats and good luck to Tennesseevolz on the birth and thanks to Boogieman for the kind gesture.
  11. Count me in please.
  12. No. The .357 Sig will not work in a .357 revolver. It is rimless and made for semi-automatics.

  17. For sure. Plenty of places to see. Shiloh is a must for anyone that has never been.
  18. IMHO the following items put it well above the Saiga. Capable of full auto mode - 300 rounds/min Fires from an open bolt - (the best way to keep an auto cool in sustained firing.) Better recoil absorbing system Uses stainless steel construction While there maybe more, these alone are reason enough to rate the AA-12 over the Saiga. With that being said, we can buy a Saiga but not the AA-12.
  19. While the Saiga is a great shotgun, it's a runner-up to the AA-12.
  20. I'm thinking the same thing. Ricky Skaggs' sign is around # 2, TGO is around # 4, and the next one (in memory of someone), is between # 6 and # 7.
  21. Each is different enough I'm not sure you can compare them fairly to say which is better as a EDC. You can look at it this way. You've got a 642 wanting to trade for a 27, and the other guy has a 27 wanting to trade for a 642. The snub has been S&W's highest selling gun for years now for a reason, it's ability to be carried. If your mode of dress will allow you to pull off carrying the 27 everytime you go out, no matter what you're wearing, then get the 27. If there are times it won't, then stick with the 642. In my case I carry a 642 for the simple reason I have so many carry options it can always be carried somewhere on my body no matter what I'm wearing. As Cheez said, he's got both for a reason. Most folks will carry different guns for different occasions. If I'm going somewhere I don't feel comfortable with the 642, my M&P 40 goes along. With that being said, I'd keep the 642 and pick up a 27 when you can afford it to add to your carry options.
  22. It is ok to use blue loctite since it is not "permanent" like the red loctite. You may have to re-apply after opening it up. Another thought is that if you are only tightening it with your fingers, you might temporarly put some tape on each end and tighten it with pliers.
  23. It's on the east bound side around mile marker # 4 (give or take a little)
  24. Just noticed on my way into work this morning that the TN Gun Owners sign is up! Somebody needs to get onto Ricky Skaggs cause his section, which is the one before TGO is trashy.
