I'm developing a decent list of reasons.

Start making friends on this site then. That includes the LEOs. And me. Mostly me. Because the LEOs will just kick your ass on a dark road somewhere. I'll ban you. :D

NFA Trust for $100?
TGO David replied to GlockSpock's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
You don't want to be the guy who finds out his bargain NFA trust doesn't hold water. I'd go with a local pro over a remote whomever any day of the week. -
Kids talk. Stupid kids talk more. Sooner or later you'll find out who did it.

I don't blame the entire black community but the fact remains that there are certain societal problems... certain ideologies... within it that allow subhuman behavior like this to fester in people's minds until thoughts eventually become actions, and the entire black community at large allows it to persist. You only have to take a listen to some of the more popular rap music from the past 20 years or so to get a glimpse into the things that are important within the vast majority of the black community. Violence, money, intimidation, retaliation... just to name a few of the things glorified. Why hasn't the black community ostracized those who glorify these things to the point that a clear message is sent that those things aren't guiding principles by which decent people live? All I ever hear are occasional remarks against heinous activities by a few community leaders, celebrities and media darlings... and then it's back to the old system of "That's life on the streets. You can't judge if you don't live in the hood." Politically correct statement? #### no it isn't. But brutally raping and then massacring two people like these animals did isn't politically correct either, now is it?

I've got lots of them. The vast majority are profanity. Some of them involve a wood chipper.

Well... I learned something new. Glad I moved when I did. Those roads still lead both ways though right? :D I go back to Kentucky every now and again. Less often now that my dad's gone. I always look forward to seeing that Welcome to Tennessee sign the most when I start driving back this way. The only thing Kentucky lets a handgun owner do differently up there is carry one openly without any sort of a permit. The permit is required for concealed carry only.

You have 30 posts. You don't get to tell people to relax.

You wouldn't have to retake the class if you had a current Kentucky CCDW permit. Kentucky and Tennessee have reciprocity. I moved here from Kentucky in 1997 and simply paid the fee, got fingerprinted and waited for them to mail my HCP to me. <-- I was wrong about this part. Outdated info. My age is showing. By the way... the roads run both ways between Tennessee and Kentucky. Since it's better up there and all that.

Nice!

They should all die exactly the same way their victims did, be resuscitated and the process repeated. Over and over until their CNS or cardiopulmonary system can no longer sustain life. And then... life support, and repeat. When there's nothing remotely resembling a human form left, Hell can have them.

Finally enough clear weather that we're making some progress at the new HQ. Footer poured, foundation blocks to go in next week.

I'm sure the world -- and everyone else who shops at The Buckle -- waits with baited breath to see what firearms get the Yeager Stamp of Approval.

Survival Store/Training in Nashville - Could it work?
TGO David replied to Peace's topic in Survival and Preparedness
There aren't many REIs across the country, period. We're fortunate to have it here. Why is it here? Williamson County is one of the wealthiest in the nation which means a store like that can sell their wares pretty easily. -
The banana hammocks are a big seller this year.
-
Did anyone say that? It sounds like you're picking an argument.

Survival Store/Training in Nashville - Could it work?
TGO David replied to Peace's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I never said they weren't. The assumptions and rationales may be different but those are superfluous to the equipment necessary to achieve it. The equipment crosses over very easily and that crossover is what makes a more widespread marketability possible. A store such as this, whether online or brick and mortar, would do well to sell to the wider audience yet have certain things catering specifically to the survivalist. -
Let's be clear: This isn't about the right to carry arms, it's about you essentially wanting permission to carry them openly to enlighten people. This has nothing to do with a person's legal permission to carry a firearm openly as granted by the state of Tennessee so long as they have a Handgun Carry Permit. You can buy that permission from TDOS already. There's no need for me to fight for you to obtain the permission to do something you can already do. As has been stated, Tennessee does not recognize the Second Amendment as the only legal authority you need to carry a firearm on your person in this state. If you want to fight something, fight that. That being said, my handgun isn't a political podium. I don't carry it to make a political statement or to enlighten anyone. I carry it for my self defense, and I carry it in the means that provides me the most strategic advantage. If you want to carry yours openly and scare the sheep, just keep in mind that you run the risk of scaring them straight to the closest sign-maker to whip up another "SHALL NOT CARRY" posted location, or to the nearest politician who will promise them to make it all go away if they vote for them. Or you'll end up like this assclown: Whether you want to believe it, or like it, openly carrying does inspire a reaction and it may not always be the one you want. You will pass by dozens of people each day who may not say a word, but you've inspired a reaction with them and it likely won't be a positive one. You have no control over what someone else may think or do as a result of your choice to strap one on and walk around with it visible. And their reaction may not come in the form of a question or even a terse word to you on the spot. It may come later in the form of a ballot being cast against visibly displayed firearms for HCP owners (it's illegal to let your concealed weapon be seen in some states) or in the form of yet another retail store or restaurant being posted as anti-gun. I support your right to make dumb decisions. I just don't support your exercising that right when it harms my ability to exercise the same one a little more discretely.

Survival Store/Training in Nashville - Could it work?
TGO David replied to Peace's topic in Survival and Preparedness
That was my first thought reading this thread. The reality is that survivalism is an extrapolation of recreational "roughing it" for camping, hiking, hunting, etc. A store would do well to cater to those activities broadly rather than try to advertise itself as a Prepper HQ or something like that. -
Yep. We've got a really nice piece of land with some dirt shoved around on it right now. Just waiting for a few dry days so they can pour the footer and lay block.
-
Being a pro-2nd Amendment group of people does not require that we all support your method of carry. It's a nice tactic to try and shame everyone into agreeing with you, but it's been tried before and it doesn't hold water.

This rain has delayed constructing of our new home for the past two weeks. It's got to stop sooner or later or we're going end up moving about 2 months later than originally planned.

Yeah, you know... I'm just not tactical enough to support a .50BMG habit. I'm not going to be shooting hadjis at 1,000yds anytime soon and I figure if someone wants me to start, Uncle Sam can foot the bill for it. That's just a crazy amount of money for 10 rounds of ammo. :)
