I would think that a thread in the Lounge area might be suitable. Just be sure to state what group the mission trip is affiliated with (i.e. what church, what mission organization, etc.) and what the focus or purpose of the trip is. Most organized mission trip groups already have a "mission statement" prepared for people to use when they are soliciting support for it. That would be a good start.

That's why everyone needs to get off their asses during elections and VOTE the anti-gun politicrats out of office. Conservatives lost the '08 Presidential elections; Liberals didn't win it.

By way of an update to this thread... A few hundred rounds and a pair of Warren Tactical dot-on-dot night sights later, and the M&P 40 has quickly become as much of a favorite of mine as my Glock 19 is. It has been 100% reliable out of the box and is a smooth, straight, easily predictable shooter. I was doing rapid double-tap drills with it today and grouping all of my shots within an 8" section at 15 yds. It is easily the smoothest recoiling .40SW that I have ever fired. I'm very, very pleased with it.

Gentlemen, I feel lead to remind everyone that we should stick to debating the issues and not attacking each other. So far only a few posts have carried a slight tinge of personal attack but nothing worth me or the moderators getting worked up over. Let's keep it that way and treat each other with tact and decorum.

My wife's co-worker is on one of the local school boards. The co-workers told her that the schools around here are barely able to keep the temperature inside within 20 degrees of the temperature outside. Single digit temps outside = 20's inside. That's pretty damn cold. Apparently many of the older schools just don't have adequate heating or insulation. Couple this with the security risks associated with letting kids wear parkas and such indoors (many schools won't allow that for fear of students smuggling weapons) and you've got a pretty good reason to cancel classes I guess.

Man, I can't believe anyone likes Nancy Van Camp. She is as flaky as a snowstorm, and that's just the impression I've gotten from watching / listening to her on TV!!! Anytime Mr. Tim isn't doing the weather, I turn over to another channel.

I just googled this "Vince Offer" (Shamwow / Love my nuts) guy and found a PR Newswire hit detailing his destruction-by and fight-against the Church of Scientology. After reading it, I have respect for the guy.

If the spring were weak, it wouldn't have any problem locking back. If the spring were too strong or the ammo charge too light, that might prevent the slide from fully cycling and locking back.

Someone should just go out to the facility and start shooting. When the owner shows up, ask him what the deal is.

FWIW... I believe that The Outpost restaurant is owned by none other than Mrs. Barrett, wife of Ronnie Barrett. If they are in any way connected to the gun shop... it's going to kick all sorts of ass.

Ggun has been given a temporary 30 day ban from the TGO community. If he comes back and continues to treat others rudely, he will be removed permanently. No more strikes. Just one more screw-up and gone forever. Apologies to all whom he has been a jerk toward.

If I were to buy another right now, I'd opt for the open design with the replaceable light pipes. I really liked it. No snags to speak of, but I always carry my firearms in holsters. Edited to add... If you are going to carry it, ever, I would go for the Tru-Glo sights so that you have a tritium light source to back up the fiber optic. I'm not a fan of fiber optic sights for carry purposes, but the Tru-Glo is a nice design.
