  1. I have a CZ 455 and and a Savage Mark II FSVR.  Both are exceedingly accurate.  The fit and finish on the CZ reminds me of a Marlin or Winchester made in the 1950's.  The fit and finish of the Savage reminds me of a Chicom AK battlefield pickup.  I paid $360 for the CZ and $250 for the Savage (both NIB).
  2. I purchased the  .22 LR/.17 combo.  Changing barrels is easy.  You will need an accurate torque wrench, however as accuracy is very dependent upon setting proper action and barrel screw torque.  The YoDave trigger bushing/spring kit ($25.00) results in a trigger that rivals the Kidd in my 10/22.   Jack
  3. Just got my shipping notification.  Back ordered on 12/19.
  4. Ordered a rifle from Bud's via the internet on Friday, 25 January.  Shipped today.  UPS has delivery to my FFL scheduled for tomorrow.  No complaints here.
  5. I have placed a dozen or so orders with Bud's, five of which have been firearms.  I have had no problems.  I would not consider them to be outstanding, but more than just satisfactory.  PSA is currently running 10-15 business days on ammo shipments.  OTOH, I ordered a case of CCI .22 LR from SGA on Wednesday and it is scheduled for delivery on Monday.
  6. I have a Kimber Ultra Carry.  For concealed carry the grip length is ideal and fits my size 10 1/2 hand just fine.  The pistol balances nicely with the 3 inch barrel.  If you want/need a full size grip, I would recommend a commander length barrel as opposed to a 3 inch barrel.  The extra barrel length isn't going hinder concealment, the full size grip already does that for you. The 4 1/4 inch barrel will enhance accuracy.   My Kimber is my primary carry gun in .45ACP.  It has been 100% reliable for the past 15 years. I also own, and shoot regularly, a DW VBOB and a DW Guardian in 9 mm.  They conceal carry fine under a jacket, but not as well under an un-tucked shirt.  Needless to say, I shoot more accurately with the commander length barrels on the Dan Wesson's.
  7. My latest Form 4 submission was received by the ATF on 30 November.  Payment cleared bank on 4 December.  ATF is now processing checks as ACH payments.  According to my bank, I will never see my cancelled check.  Payment showed on my bank statement as "ATF NFA Payment.  Check your statement.
  8. They used mail order flyers and, I believe, advertised in Shotgun News. Made a big deal about once you spent $1,000.00 with them you received a minimum preferred buyer discount of 10%. That program was abruptly terminated after a short period ot time (about a year). Charged for items not in stock and it took weeks to obtain a credit. Not a nice place with which to do business.
  9. They pulled the same crap in '94.  I haven't spent a dime with them since.
  10. The Dan Wesson factory was destroyed (fire) last month. Production is expected to resume by mid 2013. New DW's are becoming very hard to find and are commanding inflated prices. Damascus Gun Shop in VA has a few compacts in stock. If you want one, don't wait.
  11. For the price, you can't beat Primary Arms red dots. I use their 30mm tubes on my 12 gauge, AR's and .40 carbine. For my pistols, I use their Microdots. Well under a $100.00 each and never had a problem with any of them.
  12. Form 4 Trust submitted 1 May, pending 6 June. Approved 9 November. Dealer waiting for paperwork.
  13. 617. I have the Ruger SP101, a Ruger Single Six and a S&W 617 in 4 inch. I would never sell the 617. It is the perfect plinking revolver. The SP101 would be my last choice. I had $75.00 worth of trigger/action work done to the Ruger and it still doesn't equal the out of the box action on the 617. Close second choice would be the Ruger Single Six convertible with a 5 1/2 inch barrel. In a semi, my favorite is the Ruger 22/45 with a 4 inch TB.
  14. Since I don't have a photo on my DL, I successfully used a 45 year old expired passport issued at the US Embassy in Saigon in 1967. My HCP was to be my back-up photo ID but was not required. I am sure the voter Id lady was rendered speechless and misty eyed in looking at the 25 year old stud in the photo.

I run Federal 36 gr HP bulk through mine. No problems.
  16. On the eighth day, God created Paratroopers and the devil stood at attention.
  17. A primary reason to purchase as much uninsured/underinsured motorists coverage as your inurance company will allow.
  18. Two suppressors, F4 Trust. Pending 10/31/11. Stamps received 4/30/12.
  19. Bob Howard, Predator Custom Shop in Knoxville.
  20. I bought one last October. Quite nice, especially after an action tuning and a set of Hogue soft rubber grips. I shoot in Knoxville every week, PM me if you want to meet and check it out. I should have a new Ruger SR22 Pistol tomorrow. Be glad to bring it along with the 101. - Jack
  21. 100% reliable at 400 rounds. My primary carry firearm.
  22. Although the CZ 75D and P01 are both 9mm compact size alloy frame pistols with decockers, they are not exactly the same. The 75D (AKA PCR in Europe) has a loaded chamber indicator and a rather unusual style rear sight. Replacing this sight with a Meprolight or Trijicon tritium will leave a gap in the top of the slide which, to some, may be cosmetically unattractive. The 75D does not have a rail. The P01 has a rail, no loaded chamber indicator and has a dovetail for a standard rear sight. It is exactly the same size as its .40 cal brother, the P06. As such, custom holsters may be easier to find. The 75D seems to be hard to find right now. Czcustom has them in stock at a substantially higher price than when I purchased mine two years ago. IMO, the P01 is a better buy. You can't go wrong with either model. However, keep one thing in mind. You will not own a single CZ for very long. There will be more.
  23. I have a 617 and a SP101. The Ruger will need an action tuning if you plan to shoot a lot of double action. The Smith is almost a pound heavier and will cost you quite a bit more. Recoil is not a factor with either firearm. I would suggest you let the wife handle and, if possible, shoot both. Let her make the decision. My wife prefers the Ruger and I prefer the Smith.
  24. Nothing. However, million dollar plus awards against individuals are extremely rare in Tennessee. And, if you purchased the right coverage, legal defense costs are not subject to the liability limit specified in the policy.
