Sorry, but this isn’t about permits; this is about money. You are a Tennessee resident and Tennessee wants paid every four years. Also if you were to be stopped a few years down the road and you had a Tennessee driver’s license, no THCP and an old permit from Indiana; depending on what the cop wanted to do it could end badly for you.

In your short time here you have single handedly started more threads about cops (good or bad depends on the spin you decide to put on the story) than the rest of the forum combined. (That may not be accurate, but I lost track while counting them) Why would you single this particular thread out to post here? This is political drama and nothing to do with bad cops. Are you planning to run for Sherriff of Rutherford County?

Okay… If a state was being more aggressive about going after bad cops; would they not have more certifications revoked than other states? Since you are the Charlie Eppes of the bad cop data… give us an idea how these county's compare. Shelby, Davidson, Knox, Hamilton. I’m having a little trouble with this. “Criminal investigator†implies that you have Police powers of arrest and you arrest bad cops. Investigating bad cops would fall on the department, the TBI, the State Police or the Feds. Since you say you work for the state that rules out the Feds, I don’t think any other state agency would hire someone from Atlanta into a position investigating those kinds of crimes; so what do you do?

Sorry I didn’t know I needed to add a disclaimer. I do not mean to imply that I speak for anyone other than myself, only that when you start making dumb azz statements about cops it is usually going to be a mostly one way street, as they can’t say too much. Nickel holds up well in use; I have carried them and I have one nickel gun that is over 30. It holds up far better than bluing, but not nearly as well as stainless. Nickel will rust.

How do you like it? Does it get in the way or switch on/off while holstering or carrying. I have both the Full Size and Compact .40 and am thinking I might want to trade for these other models.

He then seems stunned that a local forum cop would take offense at his ramblings; and is whining because he thinks he was threatened. WTF did he expect? I feel sorry for you that you live in an area where you have to put up with Police corruption. (If that is the case) I was not a cop in Tennessee but I have trouble believing that they are a bunch of redneck thugs as TMMT is suggesting. He claims a high number of POST certifications being revoked. Educate me as to what this means. In Illinois you can’t be certified as a Police Officer unless you have a job as a Police Officer, working for a Police Department. You also can’t go to the Police Academy unless you are a Police Officer. It is my understanding that is not the case in Tennessee. Apparently you can attended the academy and be POST certified without having a job as a cop, and possibly never getting a job as a cop, which I assume would cause the certification to expire or be revoked. Could that be the reason for Tennessee having a higher rate of revocations than other states? I have offered explanations several times before on how to deal with a bad cop when you encounter one. What to do both on the street and later. The most popular option around here seems to be to do nothing except get on the forum, make up a bunch of crap that can’t be verified and start a cop bashing thread until it is locked. Now maybe someone would like to discuss some ways to fix the problem. I have a few ideas. But I have a feeling this will be reduced to name calling before we get to them.

I think you are confusing models. A J-Frame is the same size whether it is a .38 or a .357. K-frames and L-frame “Snub Nose†models are bigger. I doubt you will enjoy shooting either a J-frame or a Colt; I have owned both. They aren’t target or range guns; they are belly guns. 2 ½†K frames (IMO) are enjoyable to shoot and are accurate enough for fun at the range.

Just curious. There is a U-tube video of a guy shooting at G18 at Knob Creek. Unless he is a cop shooting a department weapon, how can he legally have this?

Because you actually are familiar with the special laws that pertain to threats against the President? No, you don’t have a right to be offensive, and many states have laws against it. Disorderly conduct, “alarmed or disturbed†ever heard of it? I have absolutely no respect for this President. But I wouldn’t run the risk of being arrested if the right person saw it as a threat.
