  1. If it were me I would MUCH prefer 7.62X39 upper. It would not match the distance I could reach with the 5.56, but would fill more roles for me. Only one way to solve your problem, get one of each
  2. Folks have them, except for hunting there is not much else to do with them around here. Fun to shoot from 22 LR to 45-70.
  3. Gonna be filmed in the Vegas and Ghost Ranch areas like the last one?
  4. Not even close to enough detail to make a rational decision. In the box where the vote is called for.
  5. bloomberg, new york city . . . And you try to apply logic to the siuation. Wait there is logic, new york city buncha shootings and so blooberg wants help from Washington DC . . . Yeah right! On one the celebrations where shootings occurred have had fatal shooting in at least two previous years. On my "Bucket List" of places to visit it is yet another I can leave off.
  6. My first guess would be to wear plugs or muffs when shooting. Next suggestion requires NO expenditure of ammo, Remove loaded magazine and get it away from the area where you plan to do the following drill Clear gun, remove magazine, Clear gun check chamber to assure gun in unloaded, Practice trigger control Then throw in trigger control and sight alignment and practice, then trigger control, sight alignment and sight picture and practice, Then throw in live fire exercise Low volume of fire, but well placed shots is your goal for a long time with a pistol.
  7. Really close to where they used to be, but you "can't get there from there". Next street up the hill to the North, wander around back behind the bowling alley to the old "Uncle Buds" building and you are there. Too bad they couldn't convert that back parking area into a building containing an Indoor range.
  8. NM governor gets perfect score on renewal of her concealed-carry permit NM governor gets perfect score on renewal of her concealed-carry permit (12:36 p.m.) - Las Cruces Sun-News I swear I saw misses, but then not sure how they score the session out there.
  9. Went there, very nice staff to work with/help us when we went. I was showing someone who had NEVER shot in their life so there was far more instruction time than shooting time. Unless things have changed, I would recommend them if you are in the area and need a place to shoot.
  10. Contacts are NOT shooting glasses just as anything other than ear plugs or muffs are are NOT hearing protection.
  11. Improper signage my be there to cover them and yet NOT exclude carrying. Sometimes when one demands a clear ruling the answer is NOT what one wants to hear. So let's not force them to answer. Ambiguity in posting may be more of a friend than many realize.
  12. Radio show weekends? ? ? When? What station? he does a goo job of representing shooters on the tube
  13. Can a NOOBIE to competitive shooting pay match fee and do a slow to fast (depending on comfort level) walk through the courses of fire? Would assume to do this after all the real competitive shooters got to run and gun their way through the course of fire. Course of fire where the gun is already drawn and the draw does not play into it are even more attractive
  14. My biggest concern is the 11 LEOs. Want to know the whole story on that. That aside, I figure that figures don't lie, but then . . . so many are misused
  15. I went ot a local Franklin shop and asked if they could order a Charter Arms Bull dog since they had none in stock. They conferred and allowed that they just could not get one n from any source. Beleshire had it ready to pick up 3 days after my inquiry with them.
  16. Two of them sure look underfed, no wonder they came to the call. How were the pelts?? You gonna sell em or make pelts for yourself
  17. This used to be the type of firearm I recommended to people until I noticed a class member at a range I used to oversee. The Lady did not have much strength ( young, but apparently little exercise/work) and could not pull the trigger to the halfway point of fifty rounds. The person teaching these classes required double action fire if one had a double action firearm. A little exercise could also make the trigger squeeze an non issue.
  18. RevScottie hen teaching the HCP class one does not in any way represent the State, they are an instructor there to teach a basic curricula fulfilling the State's requirements for a citizen to be issued a HCP.
  19. I guess I ave a slightly different take on this. Most jams seem to be ammo or magazine related. As for MEM range; Tell her to call the range and ask to speak to the manager/owner. Tell them what happened and ask if that is the ranges policy or just one of the employees running off customers. IF that is their policy then another memphis location or one of the courses of instruction here in Nashville area is where she needs to be.
  20. http://www.newschannel5.com/story/13916455/gallatin-homeowner-shoots-at-would-be-burglars Too bad they made him fear for his wife's life. I bet the sound of rounds hitting the trunk are real loud when one is driving down the street after a botched burglary.
  21. I wish all classes would mention that it can be ordered at the time of application, i did not see the box, but would have checked it when I was there. State could make some additional money by mentioning it to the applicants also.
  22. First picture I have ever seen that is clear enough to recognize the person, usually one can barely be sure that it is a human being in the fuzzy picture. We all know that posting IAW the law will prevent anyone . . . EVERYONE from entering with a firearm:rolleyes:
