  1. where God meant for it to be, according to Mars...
  2. I thought I did ok on the poppers, especially drawing from concealment. After watching Springer and Sevigny, I wanted to quit and take up archery. [ame] [/ame]
  3. Memphis Mechanic put Sevigny Comps on my Glock 34 with a brass punch, and I think it's harmless. Banging on tritium sights may not be as wise, though.
  4. I went in half on an MGW w/ Memphis Mechanic. I think it's an MGW--I haven't even seen it yet. Anyway, they screwed up and sent him the tapered pusher. We both use squared sights (Warren Tactical Sevigny Competition), and they wouldn't quite fit into the sight channel on the tapered pusher. I THINK the MGW square pusher will work with both styles--I'll double check w/ MM.
  5. either that or www.highpowerriflematchscoresthatnobodycaresabout.com
  6. Well, the margins won't let me line them up just right, but you get the picture.
  7. Also, be aware that not all sight pushers will mount just any sights. For example, some aftermarket sight pushers will only push square sights, or only tapered sights. Stock Glock sights and some aftermarket replacements are tapered, and the Glock pusher will only work with these, I believe. If you are sure that you will always use one kind of sight, then it's not as big a deal. FWIW, I've heard that the Glock pusher is not as robust as some of the aftermarket pushers. By tapered sights, I mean sights that are shaped like this: _______ /xxxxxxxx\ as opposed to this: ________ lxxxxxxxxxl
  8. glockfaq says lci is worth 5 BATF points (about 2/3 the way down): http://www.glockfaq.com/models.htm
  9. Come to Bartlett--you can enjoy Germantown-wannabe codes, cops w/ radar guns and a dozen doughnuts behind every tree, and ever-increasing crime spilling over from bordering Memphis...
  10. and a functionally worthless idea it was, but it did get them a couple points for importation purposes.
  11. +1 Even more so with me since my religion is a combination of IDPA and football.
  12. The third generation Glocks came out before the LCI (loaded chamber indicator) did. So your G23 was probably one of the early third gen. guns, although someone may have swapped extractors. You didn't necessarily get screwed. I would never trust a loaded chamber indicator anyway.
  13. I feel where you're coming from--we just weren't able to make it work. It's sometimes tougher for women to dress for concealed carry. If she does, then congrats--she'll be better off.
  14. Hey man, you're the one who handed it to me and talked me out of that XD-M...if only I had gotten a gun with a grip safety!
  15. IMO, the purse has its ups and downs--Michele was working in one of those nice neighborhoods that turn to ghetto after dark. I wasn't nuts about the purse, but she would walk out with her hand on the gun (inside the purse--gun pouch unzipped) and her head on a swivel. She did this in most parking lots. A lousy way to walk to your car, but a blond-headed female in Memphis needs to be careful. A holster is definitely preferred, but a purpose-made purse and some practice and forethought are better than a gun in the glovebox, IMO.
  16. Same here--I'll freely admit that Glock sights need to be replaced before you even make it home with the new gun. Otherwise, they are just the ticket (for me, anyway).
  17. I have a feeling that many "professionals" unofficially carry whatever they damn well please.
  18. Not unless you get some receivers healthy...
  19. My wife has one of these, and trust me, she is the Chief of the fashion police: http://www.coronadoleather.com/
  20. It's the same in Memphis--if the Nashville Oilers are playing, they are on tv, even if they are 1-8. None of it matters, Dallas will win the SuperBowl anyway.
  21. Just as good as an XD or M&P or Beretta or SIG or H&K for some. Perfect by no means, but the best choice for my purposes, and I've tried nearly everything. I'm not a "professional" like Mars claims to be, but none of my Glocks have "kaboomed" or shot me in the ass. Defective maybe?
  22. CTAC IWB holster under an untucked polo-style shirt all year. Darker and/or striped shirts seem to reduce printing.
  23. Robbie, if I have my Glock 19 and we are shooting at targets 12 feet away, I bet I can give you a run for your money...
  24. In local IDPA matches, I have proven this theory wrong many times. It's definitely true in a gunfight, but not always so in USPSA or IDPA.
