I have had my XD45C for a couple of years now with flawless performance and decided to do some work to her. After having my 1911 reworked and the trigger set extremly light (3.5 lbs) and no take up and only a hair of reset I knew it was time to tackle the trigger on the XD. I researched on xdtalk and found great reviews on Powder River Precision and some awesome walk through. Got everything ordered last Thursday and was here Monday. Install was easy. I opted for the Easy Fit M/T (Sear/Safety lever and trgger springs). All I can say now it this thing is AWESOME!!! Only one scary part. My XD did not have an over travel stop in it from the factory. I can only say the trigger was long before but now is nice and short. I did not buy the gun new but a friend of mine did and I know he never more than field stripped it. I put 50 rounds through it yesterday getting use to the new trigger but more time will have to wait. It now sets at the gunsmith who is putting the new Truglo TFO's on. I should have it back by luch tomorrow so not to long to wait. Verne

I placed a order for a rifle kit through them on Jan, 4th. I hope to have it by next year maybe even September or October this year. When I ordered I knew it would be a long wait so no biggie.

Accuracy International: A little piece of Sniper/Precision Rifle history
Verne replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Long Guns
That is very interesting. Really like the history behind firearms. This something you are wanting to add to your collection? -
If you looking for selection try Cycle Gear in Rivergate * (nest to Buffalo Wild Wings). They have a pretty large selection. Then price shop on line also. I have found better deals other places but usually buy locally from either Cycle Gear or Sloans. If you go to the dealer you can haggle with them on the price depending on what it is. As far as Middle TN forums I post at Nashville/Mid-Tenn - Cycle Forums: Motorcycle and Sportbikes Forum Great group of locals over there. Verne Edit: Typed this over an hour ago and forgot to hit post. Dooohhho.

You are never too old. The red VFR in the pic with mine belongs to a my riding buddy who is 54 (I'm pretty sure). If you ever go to Hunter's in Nashville he is the cranky old guy in the left corner. Tell him I sent you if you want a smart remark for knowing me.

Wish I could say I put them there but I bought it in mint shape with 46k on it in 2006. I have changed out gauge clusters to the newer Superhawk one. I believe I should be in the high 70k's, maybe even the 80's now but not for sure. I had all the data on the conversion on a old computer and it crashed and still need to get the stuff pulled off of it.

Here is mine. It's the one on the right. 1998 Honda SuperHawk. 70k plus on the odometer and still going.

I can always bring my XD45C down if you want to check it out. I'm about 45 minutes out from the 'Boro so not that far and should have the bike back up this week.

I have a XD45C and my buddy has a XD40SC. I EDC my XD IWB, not a big problem if you are use to carrying a 1911. I prefer the .45 but my buddy prefers the .40. Shooting wise I like my follow up shoots more than more ammo but that is just me. Not saying I wont own another .40 but I have yet to find one I like. Have owned a Beretta 96 and a Springfield P9C.

Me and a buddy are planning on heading up Saturday. Don't know how much I can afford to shoot but he was telling me they are going to have a Flame Thrower for rent up there. Now that sounds like fun.

Hero-Gear 3rd Annual Customer Appreciation Event: March 27-28
Verne replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Events and Gatherings
I had a great time. Picked up a Stainless Beretta 92FS. Two of the guys with me had never been before. One of them made the comment "If I win the Lotto I would never leave this place." Made me laugh. Thanks for the great deal Joe. Verne -
Thanks guys. I have been keeping tabs on prices for a year or so. Even got my C&R license so I could just order one from CMP. Then my buddy spotted this one. The price was well below what I would have invested in a CMP rifle counting the membership for with a affiliate group but I can use my C&R for discounts other places and to order a Nagant 1895. Now the only question that remains is "Will it stop a llama?"

I have been looking for one on and off for about a year and all my buddies knew. I did not want a reproduction or a Universal. I wanted a WWII era M1 Carbine, like the one I stupidly got rid of years ago. So the other day a good friend calls and said he had found one. So one things leads to another and last night I picked up a 1943 build Underwood M1 Carbine. Just took it out and the rain for a test run and performed flawlessly. Didn't realize until I pulled the trigger how much I really missed this rifle. And now for a pic.

Past Master Hartsville 113 (2008) Scottish Rite Yellow Dog (Woof, woof, woof) That cover it all for now. For some of you wondering I was 29 when I installed Master of the Lodge. My two best friends family were Masons and I have helped with the Shrine Paper sale and Circus since I was 13 or 14. They both joined when they turned 21. I waited a few more years to subdue things and was Initiated in 2003 and made a Master Mason in 2004. One of greatest memories was setting in Lodge with my best friend just weeks before he pasted away at eh age of 26. All I can say is I have greatly enjoyed my involvement with Lodge. I due understand it is not for everyone and keep a very open mind. I have even had people blatantly condone me for being a member. I just tell them they are more than welcome to there opinion and wish them the best. And eyebedamn I have sent you a PM. Verne

I second checking Cheeks. I was up there today and they had a couple. One was a Yugo with the launcher sight on it. If, and I do mean if, I remember correctly the price was around $250. I don't remember if it was new are used. I know Trantrum mentioned seeing a few others on our way back.

How many 1911's do you have now? You trying to buy up all in the mid state area? It sounds like another nice one.
-
Thanks again Mitch. It works great with my 1911. Too much gun talked must of got things crossed up, I live in Hartsville. Hopefully we can make it shooting one day. Verne
