OK, I had a definite expression of interest. He should be PM'ing you. I need more of your cards because the canary's cage needs changing.

If you look at Snopes she sort of said all of those. There was some issue with the context and some of it sounds worse than she probably meant it. But yes, she has a history of belonging to the hard Left. Only hope the press makes a big deal out of it sometime.

People die from bubonic plague but I dont see a rush of people going for an antidote. I dont see any reason to prepare for something that statistically isn't going to happen. Others feel different. That's what makes the world go round.

I couldnt name a gun store robbery in nashville during business hours. Some might remember Tommy St Charles from Law Enforcement Supply on 8th. He carried a .25acp strapped to his ankle. He was in a lousy area for 30 years and never had a problem. OTOH, my friend who runs a c-store on Gallatin Rd has pulled his gun twice since i've known him, about 3 weeks.

It generally is a safe assumption unless you are in the drug trade or jewelry business. Criminals are lazy cowardly people for the most part. They want it easy. Resisting, especially by slinging lead, changes the equation. And as I wrote, if there are multiple assailants determined enough no handgun is going to do you much good.

One is perpetually out of town. I'll PM the other to see. I'll have to check the pics of Raquel. Now, if it was Texan Lori I might just give her one...

Once one person goes down, regardless of calibre, the rest arent likely to stay around unless you have something they just really really want. And if that's the case no handgun is going to make much difference.

fwiw I'm getting one in tomorrow new, parkerized. I could name 2 forum members who have bought them from me. So I know people here have them.

Print T-shirts with Hugo Chavez' face and the legend underneath: Por que no te callas? (which is what King Juan Carlos said to him, why don't you shut up?). Maybe we need a king here after all...

I really don't care what you think about Glocks. Or any other gun for that matter. The fact is that your monomania for Glock-hating has cost this forum some valuable members and their input. I spoke to two today in fact who mentioned this issue specifically. Maybe we should poll the members to see how many find your comments valuable and/or insightful. I would set you to ignore but since you're a moderator that isn't possible. Maybe I'll need the virtual ignore feature.

What if 20 million illegal aliens went back home to Mexico

Canynracer, my sole purpose for being here is to entertain you. -
I dont understand that. Chrome is chrome. Nickel is nickel. They aren't alike nor would you apply one over the other. Nickel (electroless) is hard to find. I have a Walther P5 with a nickel slide. I prefer nickel to chrome anyway.

"Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire." "Unload gun before cleaning." These appear in almost every book or manual on gun safety I've ever seen. Nothing here particular to Glocks. Yes, Glocks will be less forgiving if you don't follow these simple rules. But those are basic rules.

What if 20 million illegal aliens went back home to Mexico

You've proposed your own solution better than the one you think you have. Putting up a wall 2k miles wide over desolate areas far from population centers is expensive with uncertain results. In addition to the initial billions of dollars necessary to build it you would need billions more to maintain and watch it. N.Korea shares a border with China which is much shorter. The Chinese are not especially particular about shooting people trying to cross. And yet the Chinese cannot control that border and have a huge problem with N.Koreans trying to sneak in. Why will a US fence be any more succesful? And even cutting off the land link will not stop illegals. There are unlimited points of entry to this country. Ask any drug smuggler. But you point out the solution: make it easier for people to come here to work legally. That is really the crux. There is a need, a tremendous need, for low-skilled labor in farming and service fields. Already farmers leave a fair amount of crops unharvested because they do not have labor to harvest it. The jobs are tough and relatively low-paying. Mexicans, and others, need jobs, prospects being even worse in their own countries. So they come here to take those jobs. Thus the problem. You could shut down those jobs but then the overall economy will tank. Companies will outsource all of it. Look at how much produce is already grown in SoAmerica. The solution is an easy to get visa with biometric ID. The current visa system is woefully inadequate. Even in the skilled worker market (computer scientists for example) the visas all get claimed within 2-3 weeks of availability. That is a system out of whack. It is even more so with the unskilled market. Change the visa system and you will eliminate the need for an expensive and unreliable fence and enforcement. -
Doc, you don't need all that money anyway. And if it hangs around you'll just blow it on luxuries like groceries and clothing instead of spending it on necessities like guns. And if push comes to shove you can always sell the gun and get money. Try doing that with a 3-pack of Hanes underwear, slightly used.

What if 20 million illegal aliens went back home to Mexico

How do you propose to "close the borders" when there are hundreds of millions of dollars of trade that pass that way every single day? Further there are thousands of legitimate businesspeople and tourists going back and forth every single day. Further, many illegals come from someplace other than Mexico, 47% of all illegals in fact. They come here and overstay visas. What will closing the border do to prevent that? The cure is worse than the disease. -

Actually your attitude and inability to read are annoying us. I'll add a staggering ignorance of law and facts. No one called you a nazi. I pointed out your views are not too dissimilar to those of the nazis. Not the same thing. I pointed out your proposals are unworkable and would result in the economic ruin and you rant and rave instead of answering the question. -
Bad guys are like crows. Shoot one and the others will leave post hast. I dont think it's ever been an issue.

I sold a customer this used Glock 36 a few weeks back. He and I have become friends (he's a Sunni Muslim from a Yemenite family I should mention). He came back and complained the gun wouldn't eject properly, causing stove pipes. I told him to bring it by and I would check it out this weekend. I also was curious to shoot the thing. I suspected (rightly) that the customer was limp-wristing the gun, easy to do with this model. That would cause the failures he mentioned. My gun smith describes this as "a loose nut behind the trigger." I took 50 rounds of American Ammo hardball and ran 5 mags' worth through the gun. No failures of any kind. I shot some of them fast and some deliberate with no problems. I like the gun, slim size and very compact. Recoil was satisfyingly hard. One thing I discovered I didnt like is that there is a small gap between the floor plate of the mag and the bottom of the grip. The gun pinched my little finger with every shot. I dont know if a mag extension would solve that or not. The sights, standard white cut out with front white dot, where very easy to use and acquired quickly. Overall if I were looking for a carry semi I would look strongly at the Glock. Of course I am not looking for a semi. I trust tried and true technology instead....

No, send me your Xmas list instead. Glad you are enjoying the gun Doc. In my experience .22 auto pistols are very sensitive to ammo. Some of them wont cycle worth a darn with some ammo and will do fine with others. The Beretta has been in production for a very long time. I think James Bond carried the .25 Bantam in one movie. Same movie where he shot people with it and they crumpled to the floor....

Rugers are nice but hardly pocket guns. I have made my comments on Taurus customer service. All of the wholesalers I have spoken with have pretty much the same experience. That said, they build a decent enough product at a good price. As for .357mag snub, I wouldn't do it. I have never seen the utility of something like that. The extra force mostly goes out of the barrel as flash and noise. Imagine lighting one off in your car. A .38spc with the right loading will do anything the .357 will do at a reduced price with greater controlability. The new Charter Arms (actually Charter 2000) are little like the old ones from the '70s. The last Bulldog I got I sent back to the wholesaler because the fit and finish were so crappy. I did get a Rossi in .357 in and thought it was pretty decent. Ditto the Armscorp .38 in 2" barrel.

I usually say, two to the body, one to the head and it won't matter if it's a 9mm or a .45, a Gold Dot or military ball.

Len, are you suggesting that it is acceptable that non-veterans should be homeless? Why aren't you ashamed that in this wealthy society there is even one person without a dwelling to call home? Where is your conscience?

People underestimate the .25 acp. I had a fellow in my shop a couple of weeks ago who told a story how he had bought one because there had been some robberies and he was carrying a lot of cash regularly working for a band. Sure enough a guy jumps into his car at a traffic light and brandishes a knife and demands money. My customer comes up with the gun and shoots him right in the face. He falls back out of the car dead. His brother comes up behind and my customer gets out. The brother threatens my customer, who shoots him in the eye, killing him too. All probably with a Colt Junior or something. I have a Colt Model N or whatever it is called from about 1914 and I love that little gun. I wouldn't necessarily carry it exclusively for protection but I'd take it over a sharp rock any day.

Actually your views suggest more than nationalism. National socialism perhaps. If you dont like what I write use the ignore feature. I wont mind a bit.
