  1. Oops. My bad.
  2. Too bad this lady got shot. More gun, better aim and the police wouldnt be charging the bum with anything.
  3. You missed it. To the question, are they violating anything they said they would do or would be obligated to do, the answer is no. But are they providing a level of customer service consistent with what great companies provide, companies that I would want to deal with and feel good about recommending to my customers? A resounding NO.
  4. Fortunately he's about as eligible as Waldheim.
  5. Frank, they make decent products at good prices. That's why they have been so succesful. But this customer service issue is going to get them, similar to Smith's sell-out to Clinton got them.
  6. No, not really. You can buy one as a gift for anyone who isnt prohibited. As for the OP: it implies the two are connected but they may not be. The case could have come from a different gun. Or he could have dumped all the cases and they only recovered one. Or the writer doesnt know a revolver from a ham sandwich. Take your pick.
  7. I don't care much for these two Austrian meatballs...
  8. Huh? That makes no sense either logically or rhetorically. btw, how many people died in Pintos?
  9. Gun board crap. If one design was inherently better than the others, all guns would be designed that way. Duh.
  10. It was the meatballs.
  11. Bingo! YOU prefer the H&K. Great. Others prefer the Glock. Great. Others prefer SIG. Great. But at the end of the day it boils down to personal preference. Nothing more. One is not inherently better than another.* I wish we could keep this in mind. It seems the number of times people get worked up here over something stupid is increasing. And make no mistake, casting aspersions on people's choice of guns is stupid. And pointless. And all the arguments have been made already 1000+ times before here and on other fora. Next time someone wants to dismiss someone else's choice of weapon, keep it to yourself. *Because all bottom-feeders inherently suck from design flaws when compared to the tactical efficiency of the semi-detached revolving magazine design.
  12. The prostate cancer was just a figleaf because his polling numbers were lousy prior to his quitting. As for abortion, I tend to agree. Unfortunately if you side with the Dums and see abortion as some kind of "right" then that right has to be guaranteed with gov't money. And that's where I have an issue. Thompson has made a good case for limited gov't. He unfortunately doesnt have much in the way of credentials to back that up.
  13. Then you need your glasses checked. Rudy is a Republican in name only. He lost to Hillary without even running, leaving the race when a scandal emerged over his dating his current girlfriend while still married to his wife. Maybe you should try out the retroactive abortion thing and tell us how it works. Could be a blow against global warming as well. Al Gore will preach at your funeral.
  14. Those things are certainly worth an extra $300....
  15. McCain the Insane for me. Like heck. I think he needs to be run out of the GOP on a rail for McCain-Feingold. How come I've never heard of some of these guys that keep cropping up, like Duncan Hunter? Look, we're gonna end up with Hillary, barring a miracle. Get used to it. Elect lots of GOP to the House and Senate and have 4 years of gridlock. There are lots of good candidates in the GOP but they arent ready for prime time yet. I think of Bobby Jindall for example. Four years in opposition will do wonders for the party.
  16. It was the Ham n' Mothers.....
  17. Wow, the most cogent well-worded concise thing I've seen here for a while. Absolutely correct. And while we're on the subject, maybe a push to, once again, get liberalized carry in this state. Look, Tennesseans are no dumber or more violence prone than people in Kentucky or Virginia, right? Those states allow carry in establishments selling liquor and havent had any problems. So why shouldn't we?
  18. Actually the truth is: Mars loves Glocks so much he wants to be the only one to own them.
  19. Probably because you know you'd get bitchslapped.....
  20. Honestly, just based on numbers it is a crappy, dying business. Margins are incredibly thin. I would bet most people have no idea how much of the retail price is gross dealer profit. It's about 5-10%. With the internet that makes things worse because the traditionally high margin items, scopes, holsters, etc can now be bought at a discount with no sales tax via internet. On the plus side, I love what I do and have gotten to meet some really terrific people. Since I dont depend on it to feed the family it works out OK.
  21. This is nonsense. Lots of things can lead to war but global warming isnt one of them, nor is it especially imminent, assuming it is actually happening, it is caused by human beings, it is deleterious, it can be changed, and the change will be cost effective. Far more threatening is global Muslim radicalization, that has killed thousands of people already. The only reason we have not seen many terrorist incidents is that the US, under Pres Bush, has pursued a vigorous policy of degrading their capabilities. So why isn't Pres Bush up for the Nobel Peace Prize? Oh yeah, that wouldnt be PC.
  22. Insurance claim?? WTF? Most policies have deductibles. The cost of the gun was probably $250-300, well within the deductible. Anyone buying insurance recently has noticed that companies are very reluctant to write anyone with a claim. So save your claims for the big items. Finally, I could not even get property coverage for the shop. Insurance cos will not write it. My insurance solely for liability is already $1400/yr. When the break-in occurred I lost about $4k worth of stuff. I had to eat the whole amount.
  23. Why would I enjoy hearing anti-Semitic propaganda? Do you think there's a shortage of it in the world?
  24. And as for your off-topic comments about Rafsanjani, what was the purpose of that?
  25. There's good customer service and outstanding customer service. Outstanding would be for them to replace the whole gun. Yeah, they aren't strictly speaking liable for it. But I am a dealer, I do sell their product, and I have lots fewer resources then they do. If this were a Ruger I am confident they would do just that because they've done it for others in the past. Good customer service would be to have me send it in and they'll repair/replace the barrel at some nominal cost. Lousy customer service is telling me to send it in along with a ton of documentation and maybe they'll think about fixing it if they can and will charge me all the way. Which company would you rather do business with?
