There certainly might be more there than what we're hearing. But it sounds like another abuse of power by cops who think everyone needs to surrender immediately to their will and go unarmed. They should have been prepared for almost any reaction when they banged on the door.
-
"Officer Greene" sounds he like needs to be fired. For the good of the dept. Anyone who do something that idiotic and such an abuse of power is going to end up costing his dept money somewhere. Hassling people for engaging in legal activity is bad ju-ju. It makes me so mad I want to open carry everywhere now.

They work reliably and probably never break. Ever. And pretty inexpensive. That's the best I can say about them. Otherwise they are clunky and ugly and very bulky. The steel versions are very heavy. Ruger never could come up with a good carry gun. Part of it was Bill Ruger Sr's famous dictum: No honest man needs a gun smaller than a canned ham.

In order of cost: SKS with loaded strippers, which arent considered magazines. AK pistol Kel Tec PLR 16 AR pistol. -
Makes me want to take it to the range and shoot it. Hmm....

You can make your Kimber or other 1911 shoot both more accurately AND more reliably by trading it for a SIG P220.

Why? You've got a problem, mortal??? BWAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:devil::devil: -
Slide isnt all the way forward when it fires. A CZ-52 will do the same. Oops.

And here's the comment on it, truer words never spoken:

That's nice, Urse. Is that your new concealed carry weapon? How about this gem,
-
Guys, it's a pistol. It isn't someone's wife, girlfriend or daughter. You won't get to Heaven faster or slower if you have one or dont. It's a gun. No point name-calling or denigrating each other over it. Thats truly dumb. And anyway real guns have cylinders.....

Transporting Loaded Magazines

I always encourage my customers to go get one. I don't do the training and get no direct benefit from it. But my reasoning is that the more permit holders there are in the state the more lobbying for better laws there can be. There are already in excess of 200k permit holders in a state of 7M people. That's 200k potential voters, a politicians look at numbers like that. -

You can arrest anyone for anything. That's what makes America great. It would come down to, how close were the two items, how easily could the person access them. A loaded mag on the seat next to you is different from one in a zipped up pouch. Second, how likely are you to get stopped. If you do, how likely is it the officer will find the stuff to begin with. And that brings up the whole issue of illegal search and seizure. -
Great. Now the Dems will have a field day telling us their "Blade Control" measures are working to reduce crime. To me, Blade Control means disemboweling my target. Blades don't kill people, people kill people.

This goes to training. If you train to clear your weapon out of the sheath properly then you won't have any problems. Let's face it: the tomahawk has been out for a long time and they still haven't made any improvements on it. Sure, every brave carries one and they killed lots of white men, but I don't think the weapon is accurate past 6 feet. With a good sabre you can really reach out and touch someone. Say, 7 feet. Yes, a tomahawk inflicts a bigger hole but I'll take longer and faster any day. And a sabre can be every bit as reliable as long as you clean it regularly and check its pommel. Most problems are caused by lack of maintenance, not the weapon's inherent design.
-
I've heard those tomahawks are liable to kB at any time. It seems they have an unsupported haft and this is the cause. Besides, they were the low bidder in the Indian Wars.....
-
I always trained to pull the trigger again, turning the cylinder to align the next round. But that's just me...
-
I dunno, Urse. I hear George Bush wants a Glock when he leaves office. That makes them eeevil....

As those who know me know, last March my shop had a break in and 9 handguns were stolen. Among them was a Rock Island 1911 in .38 Super Nickel btw. So today I get a letter from Metro Property Div telling me one of my guns has been recovered and they're holding it. Its a Taurus 817 7-shot .38 snub. They discovered the gun on some guy who was charged with theft, resisting arrest, fleeing etc etc. I have no idea whether he actually stole the gun or just acquired it in some other fashion. So trial is tomorrow. Whatever happens after that is anyone's guess. If he's a felon, they might put him up on federal charges. No telling when I'll actually get the gun back.
-
Neither. You tried the Glock platform and paid to discover it wouldn't work for you, for whatever reason. You spent money and found the HK platform worked for you. Some people never find a gun that really works well for them. It has taken me probably 10 years and as many carry guns to find this Smith 19 2 1/2 in nickel that for me is ideal, compact enough to carry and conceal well and I can shoot it decently. I'd pay almost anything for that.

I thought it looked like a Hi Point. As for "innovations", ambi controls are important only if you're a lefty. Changeable back strap is nice but to me a gun fits or it doesnt. Supported chamber? OK, maybe. Is that worth however much more it is? (And I didnt see a MSRP in the article). I guess it is to those who would buy it.
-
The .45acp is a relatively low pressure cartridge. Even so there have been reported KBs because the original 1911 design had an unsupported chamber. When you go to the .40 (and even more so the .357SIG) pressures increase dramatically. So I could see a firearm designed for 9mm having troubles with .40. There were problems with hot .357mag rounds out of k-frame Smiths as well. Which is why Smith started the L-frame. Does that mean "Glocks are unreliable" or "Glocks are trash"? No, plenty of people carry them and use them daily. I personally don't find them appealing but I wouldnt feel naked carrying one either.
-
Oh, yeah. That. OK, congrats then.

I hesitate to ask, why did they initially deny your renewal?
