  1. Just wondering if a round would cook off in the chamber or even in a magazine if you had to leave your gun in your car for an extended period of time in the middle of summer. I know it can really get hot here in the south and didn't know at what temperature, if at all, this might happen.
  2. I have been looking at both of these and the GunVault Nano safe looks to be a stronger solution. It uses 18 gauge steel vs. the 21 gauge of the InCarSafe.
  3. I have the pro auto disks and have seen the same thing. I normally use the Lee documentation to get an idea on which disk to start with and then just go through a couple of them to see what kind of weight drops I get with each hole. Once I do this I record the weights for each hole for each powder and have it for future reference. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  4. I have carried a XDm 40 for the past year or so and it is a really good gun. I love the way it feels, grips really well but after getting hold of a Glock I don't know if I can go back to the XDm. The trigger reset is so much better on the Glock and it seems to shoot better. Of course this is just my opinion and it is worth exactly what you pay for it. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  5. I was checking on one for a G19 a month our so ago and the wait time was about 6 weeks. I ended up finding one on ebay for a little cheaper and no wait time. As for hiding a XDm I am not a small guy for what it's worth, 6'4" and around 275 but I think the Crossbreeds are great. Good luck. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  6. Here is another recommendation for the Crossbreed Supertuck. I have carried a full size XDm 40 for the past year with no issues at all and like others say I sometimes forget I am carrying anything. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  7. You could try Don's gun shop out in Collierville on Poplar. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  8. +1 to this. I started with a XDm 40 and loved it but after using a Glock 19 I can't stand my XDm trigger reset any more. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  9. Since when are 18 & 19 year olds considered youths. I bet the title of the story would not be true if they counted them as adults. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
  10. Same thing here on my EVO. I actually got the Tapatalk for my Android and it is great but would like to know why it doesn't work right now.
  11. I remember hearing about this a while back on another forum and someone posted this video. Watching this makes it look real simple but of course I don't have one...YET!
  12. I quit in May of 2002. It was about a five month process and it really was not that bad. I have never though once that I wanted another cigarette, even when I was drinking.
  13. +1 for David. I have been dealing with him for about six months now and he has always given me a great deal on anything I was looking for.
  14. FWIW, I ordered three of the 30rd PMAGS as soon as I saw this without reading any further on the thread. I had heard of the company but not anything good or bad. I got an email last night saying that my order had shipped with all 3 PMAGS and should be here Friday. Looking good so far.
  15. I personally use the lizard litter walnut for the initial cleaning and then put the brass in with some corn cob, from the pet store also, along with NuFinish car wax and that really shined up the last batch I did. I also use the dryer sheet trick to cut down on the dust. I was reading on another site recently about a corn cob blasting media from Grainger here in town. You get a 40lb bag for $27 and it is suppose to be fine enough that it will not get clogged in the primer pocket or flash hole. I plan on trying this next time I need some more cob media. Here is a link to the Grainger site with it. Blast Media, 40 Lbs, Corn Cob, 20/40 Grit - Pneumatic Blasting Media - Finishing Supplies - Power Tools & Metalworking : Grainger Industrial Supply
  16. Thanks everyone for the replies. I agree that WallyWorld is not the best place to spend my second amendment money but I have a gift certificate for around $200 and can always use a new gun. I just didn't know if they did and what they carried.
  17. where is the one at Poplar and 72?
  18. I have heard that Walmart carries long guns but I don't know if I have ever see any in any of the Walmarts I have been in. I am in Collierville and have been out here for about 8 years so I don't really have a need to go to other Walmarts. Are there any in the Memphis area that carry them and if so what kind to they normally carry. I would be looking for some kind of auto-loading 22 or a tactical type shotgun. thanks,
  19. Let us know how it shoots Appalachian. I have been looking for an entry level rifle, my first, and this is the one I think I have settled on, in .308.
  20. Not sure about that one but for a new gun I have been looking at the Marlin XL or XS series of bolt guns. They have a .308 with synthetic stock for around $310 new, these are suppose to be really good guns for the money.
  21. +1 to what kb4ns says. I recently started reloading and I purchased a Lee Classic Turret loader and it is great. I would have loved to start with a Dillon or Hornady progressive but it is just too easy to get off task, especially with kids, and either forget something or double charge a load and risk destroying a gun or worse, hurting yourself. The turret is great to start out with. Take your time and learn as much as you can, it is a great hobby.
  22. The real question is.... Which is heavier, a pound of lead or a pound of feathers?
  23. I finally got to get out and shoot my first reloads for my AR. I used a Lee Classic Turret press with Lee Pacesetter dies. I had once fired, through my AR, Federal brass, CCI 41 primers, Ramshot powder and Federal 55 grain FMJBT projectiles. I had hear how good 24.5 grains of TAC was for the AR and boy did it look that way with my groupings, see picture below. I loaded up 5 rounds each of TAC with 23.5, 24, 24.5, 25, 25.5 and 26. The 23.5 only had four hits because the first one was on a different target and so was all of the 26 grain. The 25 grain group also only has 4 hits that I can see so I am not real sure what happened there. I know that this is a 100 yard target but these were shot at 25 yards because my range only has 25 yd and 100 yd stations. I am relatively new to all this so please give any advice you can for a new reloader. Thanks
  24. Do you ever make it to the gun shows in Memphis or Southaven? Got two coming up in the next three weeks.
  25. I called AmmoDirect in Oakland and they did not carry it any more. Where is the best place to get new or once-fired .223 brass? Thanks
