1. Didn't think that at all. Was just stating some of the things that we stress to new gun owners. You are very correct that we have an opportunity and I think an obligation to teach new gun owners safety. There are a lot of guns being bought by people that have never handled a firearm.
2. We always like to stress to new gun owners 2 major gun safety rules. Finger out of the trigger unless you are ready to fire, and muzzle disipline.   We also try to teach new gun owners about their purchase. I don't know how many times we have field stripped guns and helped customers do it properly so they can maintain their new firearm.
3. He is going to be on O'reilly tonight and explain his comment. Should be interesting.
4. We don't have on in stock for that gun, however, the crossbreed for a Taurus PT111 fits a HK P2000SK very well. And we do have that one in stock.
5. M&P 15-22 gets my vote. However, for a SHTF .22 for small game that can be easily carried, broken down into a small package, what about the Henry Survival Rifle? It even floats!!!
6. Wanted to give everyone a heads up on a site we got involved with. As you know Google and Bing screwed the gun industry by not allowing guns or gun related items on their shopping feeds. These guys set this up for just this reason and have a bunch of online retailers set up on it. www.gunspec.com Take a look at it and I hope it makes it a little easier for you to search for prices and compare items.
7. My $.02 ..... Crossbreed Supertuck. I carry a Sig 226 or a Commander size 1911 every day for 12-13 hours a day. Very comfortable almost to the point you forget your carrying. (And we have them in stock)... just saying.
8.
$15 more in Cook County ain't exactly off the scale different from TN. Kali charges $25, too. All are of course additional "infringements". - OS
The $25 is on top of the TICS charge that IL charges. And IL has a FOID (Firearms owner ID) card. which is another $10 and has to be renewed every 10 years. And they have a cool down period of 3 days for long guns and 7 days for handguns (never understood that one). Just that many more reasons not to move to IL.
9. I have spoken to a couple of gun shops that are in Cook County on FB. They are pissed and are planning on moving their operations out of Cook County. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see this "tax/fee" what ever they want to call it, become levied on the rest of Illinois and not just Cook County in the near future. Most people don't realize that Chicago runs Illinois, not the capital Springfield. One of the biggest problems that IL has is that they have some of the highest state income taxes, highest property taxes, and highest business taxes in the country, then they add an this extra "fee" and they wonder why they can't attract new people or businesses to IL. No state income tax, moderate property taxes is part of the reason why I came to TN when I retired from the Navy. A $10 fee for TICS on a firearms transaction I can deal with.
10. Very glad no one was hurt. I hate to see anyone lose their business like this. Thoughts go out to everyone at Guns and Leather and hope they recover from this quickly.
11. I'm glad we could help you out. And Congrats to the new CHIEF!!!
12. On Tuesday we hit our 2 year Anniversary!!! We couldn't have done it without you!!! I wanted to thank you all for your patronage and the great compliments that you have given us over the past 2 years. And we look forward to meeting more of you in the future. Thanks Again!!!
13. I used a Timney drop in trigger group. Very simple to put in. If using the SlideFire Stock on the 15-22 sometimes the trigger mod isn't necessary. I have seen posts on other forums that said they had no problem with the stock trigger, but others have said that it wouldn't work without a lighter trigger. Mine didn't work stock.... so the Timney was needed. Nothing like unloading a 25 round magazine in less than 3 seconds.
14. Great gun!!! I took mine and put a Slidefire Stock on it. The factory trigger was to heavy so swapped it out for a Timney 3lb. Unfortunately, firing rounds as fast as it was it rattled out the trigger pins. Now adding KNS pins to fix that issue. Overall a fun gun to shoot.
15. A friend of mine has a Savage TRR-SR that I have shot and it is AWESOME!! Easily gets sub-MOA groups out of it. I liked it so much, I ordered one for myself. I have other .22LR's but none are bolt action..... until I get this one.
16. I'm glad we could help and we look forward in seeing you again.
17. Its not a huge amount, but its the principle and the fact that they are shutting down another avenue of business for small gun stores and gun enthusiests.
18. This is from an email we received from Google. We put our online inventory on google shopping, but will not be allowed anymore as of 1 July according to them. We spoke with Google reps on the phone to verify this policy change and there is no way around it. I wouldn't put it out there if it wasn't true. Especially something that affects my business they way this does.
19. IT IS OFFICIAL..WE JUST RECEIVED NOTICE FROM GOOGLE...THEY WILL NO LONGER ALLOW GOOGLE SHOPPING (PRODUCT SEARCH) TO CONTAIN GUNS, WEAPONS OF ANY TYPE OR ANY RELATED PRODUCTS. GOOGLE POLICY CHANGE NOTICE:(PER GOOGLE) Based on a review of the products you're currently submitting, it appears that some of the content in your Merchant Center account, D and T ARMS, will be affected by these policy changes. In particular we found that your products may violate the following policies: Weapons When we make this change, Google will disapprove all of the products identified as being in violation of policies. We ask that you make any necessary changes to your feeds and/or site to comply, so that your products can continue to appear on Google Shopping. Weapons As highlighted on our new policy page, in order to comply with the Google Shopping policies you need to comply first with the AdWords policies. 20. Yeah, my daughter was with me. A friend of mine and his son were there with us. Had a great time shooting. It was the first time I had been to CHMR. Charlie is a nice guy and the range is set up well. Sorry about the brass down your back.
21. It was at CHMR. I spoke with Charlie prior to shooting it to make sure. He told me that other shooters had them on .223 AR's and they weren't controlling them. When I showed him that it was on a .22, he let me have at it. Always good to ask before using it on someone else's range.
22. The movie Grand Torino on DVD and spent the day with my daughter, a good friend, and his son at the range shooting. It was a great day!!
23. Took my S&W M&P 15-22 with Slide Fire Stock out the the range yesterday. It worked great!!!! Here is a quick video of it in action. http://youtu.be/NTWSAf1DOs4
