I hunted behind the house today in Hickman. My brother killed a 140" deer out of my stand behind my dads in West Tennessee this morning as well.. He's done tagged out and never sat in HIS stand the first time this year.

My 336 Dad gave me when i was 10. My son is turning 10 next year and will get it. Ole 30-30 has killed about all my adopted brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews first deer, not to mention mine as welll

It was a DIY hunt, however, I have an old family friend that lives there and had camp and trail cam photos so it seemed more like an outfitter hunt.

I was in 34. That elk was killed about 300 yards from the Res Fence! Small world

I agree completely. Thats just what Royal Range was selling it for. I dont have a 9mm so i could care less how high the price gets. I sold my last partial box of ammo to a fellow TGO'er and gave him a great deal. I am good to go with a few (lol) boxes of all my remaining calibers. Only thing I would be short would be 5.56 but my wife isnt going to shoot hers anytime soon and i think its a puny cartridge.

Still waiting on my tan stock set to come in but shes turned out the way i hoped. Sopmod stock is the most comfortable AR stock I have handled.

Seem to be headed in the right direction? Anybody else excited about their start? USC was a decent team, however, i thought the Missouri game was a complete game played by TN.

Ive tracked down some magazines (7 and 10 rounders) that have the big bore followers on them. I will see how they work before i buy some more or put new followers in some. Found a guy that will sell ammo for $1 per round so im going to take the 300 he has if i can get to him before he sells them. Decided on a 16" forged barrel with a 15" MLOK. Will be a tan furniture build on black assemblies i think. My mind changes day to day. What about optics? Is the recoil heavy enough to demo basic scope options? Im thinking maybe up to a 6 power but worried about the recoil destroying it about the time i get the scope set.

Insaw a Bushmaster upper with the carry handle on gunbroker not long ago but it was a 16". Could probably find and build for around 750 or so.

Anybody have reviews/experience on shooting and/or hunting with the 450 Bushmaster? Debating on building one (for whatever reason) and wanted to get some of ya'lls ideas on the cartridge beforehand. Its not one of those "do i need its"... its more of the coolness factor probably.

Everything is for sale for the right price lol. Ive sort of come to the conclusion that Im going to build a 300 BlackOut. Something about building guns that keeps me sane/ calms me down.

One of them high tech countoured grips that improves accuracy... Honestly I don't know what brand but ours comfortable. I'll sell this one to ya. (The gun)

Who needs sights when you have 20 rounds? ..... Still a tad undecided what i will top it with.. Probably a BDC scope from Nikon or comparable.. DPMS lower with a 20" Upper from KM Tactical out of Missouri. (Highly Recommend these guys if you are in the market for parts... Fast turn around with quality parts.. 3rd build ive gotten materials from them)

Finished up my AR10 build tonight. Although I originally wanted a 308, had to settle with a 6.5 Creed chambering. I like how it turned out . Shes a heavy heifer but the 20" pipe should produce a decent accuracy.

Glenfield 25 bolt action... nothing fancy but decent little gun for $60 Had a Savage Stainless BullBarrel 22Mag bolt action... why i got rid of it, i will never know.. was an absolute tank.

Got it figured out with the help of an old friend. Its a 22-250. Thanks for the thoughts and help. Not the 280 i had planned for but a fun round nonetheless. And cheaper to shoot! Will probably let the wife and kids take it over .

Anybody yall would recommend in the Dickson area that would/could do it reasonably? I am going to chamber a 243 empty tonight and see how we turn out. I think the 30-06 is probably going to extend too long and will based on a 308 casing rather than the -06. I may be wrong, as i have before, but just seems like the -06 parent case will be too long for my chamber. Originally they were a a 7x57 Mauser and many were converted to 308, so hopefully its a popular offshoot of it. 243 would be ideal, but with my luck, its a 22 caliber Bubba designed in his back room.

Correct.. build on a 1893/1916 Spanish Oviedo Mauser.. Only lettering on the barrel is SHIP 5 79 on the bottom side... no other hints

Did some trading for what was supposed to be a 280. I noticed the small caliber when meeting with the guy but just thought maybe my eyes were playing with me. Got it home and a .223 sticks in the end of it and my boresighter (30-06) slides into the chamber so seems to be a .473. Base. How to tell? I assume its a 220 Swift or a 22-250, but should I count out the 243 yet? Anyway to be sure aside from taking to a gun Smith and chambering these rounds?

I have some 8mm Mauser ammo - 6 rounds of Winchester SP 5 rounds of .25 ACP 10 rounds of .45 ACP 1 Ruger .40cal P91 magazine. some rust but spring is still good. Located in Hickman County if anybody needs this.

I love it when cheap ammo comes through for the win I will report back with better pictures after i officially acquire this piece.
