  1. I got the exact same response from Hultquist, but it at least seems like he is open. Glenn
  2. I just got back from the city council meeting. While I am not hopeful that we can beat this, we sure have to try. We need to pack the workshop on the 20th and the vote on the 25th. It sounds like at least a few councilman are open minded on this. We need to email and call even though Councilwoman Pelot said please don't send me any more emails. After the delay was announced and everyone left, several people were interviewed by channel 6. Glenn
  3. The vote is scheduled for tonight 7-28 although rumor is it will be delayed. Here is the reply I got from Haslem "Thanks for your email. A council member has placed an item on the tonight's City Council agenda that "opts out" of the provisions of the new state law allowing permit holders to carry guns in local parks. While this is a city council decision and vote, I do not support any restriction on our second amendment rights that is not absolutely necessary. Thus I do not personally favor a blanket "opt out" that restricts those with permits from carrying guns in all parks and greenways. It doesn't make sense to have a situation such that a person with a permit may legally carry while walking down Market Street only to become out of compliance with the law when he or she enters Krutch Park. However, I understand the concern about the idea of folks with concealed weapons in attendance at Little League baseball games. Will report later Glenn
  4. If he believes his orders are illegal doesn't he have a duty to question them? Glenn
  5. Me too. Glenn You beat me to the mouse Hex. I agree with the OP, and you also. Glenn
  6. I am not surprised. My son's political science professor (who is amazingly not a raging liberal) told them O and Nancy Pelosey were going to try to bring back the sedition act. Glenn
  7. I guess I should have made it a little clearer that I was quoting someone else. I hope my posts are not quite that bad Glenn
  8. Check out this reply: Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on July 14, 2009 - 4:25pm. I owned a bar in another state, if it was 11am or 11pm, if some idiot gets in a fight and pulls out a gun...who gets hurt. Is this like a law to rotect children from abusive parents, the State will wait til a child is hurt, scratch their head and blame everyone else except the law that could have stopped the idiots that were made parents by mistake to have this child. Same goes for a idiot in a bar with a gun! Doesn'tbelong there and of course if you are drinking, you aren't to carry a gun! Good, tell the widow that. How many people have been pulled over should have gotten a DUI and didnt, got lket off and then...opsss a person hurt by a DUI, same one the cop pulled over a month ago. How much it will take to make the government to stop laws like this. Now TN sit back, watch the news and see how many get killed in bars..starting today. God, no wonder some people think Tennesseans are stupid Glenn
  9. WATE.com has the dumbest poll. Will the "Guns in bars" law affect where you chose to eat. Both sides of the issue would choose yes. Me because I am more likely to go to a non-posted restaurant and the sheeple because the say they won't go. Glenn
  10. It seems like the whole park carry situation is a mess. If you are not in your home town how will you ever know where you can carry. I've lived in Knoxville my whole life and I am sure there are parks that I don't know about. How would someone from out of town ever know what was a park and what wasn't. There is no way that every entrance can be posted unless the entire area is fenced. Can anyone from Knoxville tell me the exact boundary of Worlds Fair Park or Volunteer Landing Park? What about William Hastie Park? Seems like a good way to get busted. Glenn
  11. We DON'T want a constitutional convention. Don't even want to go there. We just need to enforce the constitution as it is now. Glenn
  12. I always figure if they don't want me I will spend my money somewhere else. Thanks Glenn
  13. Thanks Fallguy. I thought I had heard somewhere that you would lose your permit but I couldn't find verification. Glenn
  14. Something I have not been sure about. Say you carry in a place that is posted but you determine is not properly posted, somehow you get busted and the court finds that the sign was "substantially similar" enough, do you lose your carry permit? A $500 fine would be bad but not as bad as losing you permit. Glenn
  15. Graphics technician for a printing and large format graphics company. How did that happen. Was a carpenter for years. Glenn
  16. Don't know about that brand but many years ago I used to buy canned bacon to take camping. As I remember it was quite good. Glenn
  17. Thanks for the replies. I will go on and keep fighting. Don't have a choice. It just gets to me to think what kind of country we are leaving to our kids. I know things have been bad before but it seems when things improve it is never quite as good as it was before. Kind of like trying to walk up a muddy riverbank. 1 step forward and slide back 2. In the end you are always a little worse off. Guess I need to go to the range and shoot something. Glenn
  18. I don't know where to post this but here it goes. I have been trying not to watch so much news lately but it isn't working. I am afraid our country is doomed. The Government is taking over everything, the car business, the banks, health care. Most of the people O is appointing are just unbelievable. I just saw where one of his appointees thinks animals should have the right to sue humans. Huh? They are spending us into a hole we can never get out of. Now this cap and trade thing is going to tax everything that exists. You won't even be able to sell a house without gov. mandated "green" upgrades. Very few in Washington have the balls to stand up for anything. There is really very little difference between the parties, just a different path to the same end. A third world totalitarian government. I think I am going to ask my Dr to put me on antidepressants. Maybe then I can be like a majority of americans and quit giving a damn. Sorry. Rant over Glenn
  19. I have a Supertuck for my S&W 910 and after a week or so of adjusting the angle, location, getting a better belt, and breaking it in I love it. In fact I asked on here a while back if anyone ever forgot they had a iwb on, and now I have to say I think I could. Glenn
  20. It's even worse. He voted to end the filibuster, which guaranteed confirmation, and then voted against confirmation when he knew it was meaningless so he can claim to have voted against Koh. Lying 2 faced piece-o- He doesn't even have guts to be open about his true beliefs Glenn
  21. By then we will probably be ready for it to end. Glenn
  22. Just sent him this email: Senator, I just read with great dismay that you joined with the Democrats to confirm Harold Koh. I have voted for you every time I have had an opportunity through the years. I always believed you were a supporter of the Second Amendment, but there is no way you can spin this vote and claim to support the Second Amendment. Koh is dedicated to selling out our rights through international treaties. I am totally disgusted with the path our country is on. Spending is out of control, our rights are disappearing by the day, and our health care is about to be taken over by a government that has a very poor record of running anything well. I had hopes that you might be part of the solution but after this vote and some of your other recent votes it seems you are part of the problem. Your former supporter Glenn .............
