You also have to take into account that many working age teenagers do not work in the percentages that they did in the 80's and before. The min wage only affect a very small portion of the population and it raises the price on all good for everybody. The last time it was raised it had a smaller affect than usual but the low end jobs started going to illegal aliens who would work under the table rather than to teens who's parents made sure they worked above board.

Post pictures of your: wifes/girlfriends carry gun
fury2neon replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Show and Tell
This is my wife's "carry" piece. She said that if they are coming in they will have to break glass out of windows or doors and whatever gets stuck through gets lopped off... Also something about an elegant weapon with a more civilized aim... OK so we watch too much Star Wars. OK, I figured out how to get the photo and not the thumbnail... -
Yep, that is what consistently happens every time the min wage is raised. Every time the government sets a price it causes shortages, like the gas lines in the 70's or every product in the old USSR.

Slushee question for July: Shotguns: Pump or Auto?
fury2neon replied to dcloudy777's topic in Long Guns
I agree, that racking sound is a major plus for the pump shotty. -
I do think it's funny that they want to secede to form a more socialist government. Socialism has only killed 100 million people and enslaved billions more let's give it another try! Why is it that "liberals", "progressives" or whatever the socialist are calling themselves now hate anything that allows free choice. There was a time when liberal meant liberating people from governments control now it seems to mean liberating government form the peoples control.

Packing in a hotel that has a bar?
fury2neon replied to Marswolf's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
TRA is a waste of money for us because they only support issues restaurants in the big cities are pushing for. And usually that means making it harder on us as a businesses in a small town. If we get something like the Fair Tax past it will mean more and more powers can be returned to the states and taken out Federal control. Tennessee has come a long way for gun rights in a very short period of time and there are lawmakers that want to expand carry rights. Gun carry rights are on the forefront for the GOP and the Dems in Tennessee because the gun vote carries the state. The problem is that a lot of politicians have no idea what it takes to run a small business with limited funds when all they see is how they can spend all of our money anyway they want. We need a lot fewer laws and agencies and lot more of the free market. -
Packing in a hotel that has a bar?

Speaking for one restaurant there are too many other things to worry about than whether someone else can legally carry in said restaurant. (And I do carry in the restaurant on a regular basis but then its also my home.) With all the other issues involved in running a business and all the stupid hoops you have to jump through to open a business and all the bureaucrats who walk through wanting a fee for for some new regulation they just thought of it is no wonder that restaurant owners do not fight this one regulation. With all the fees and taxes I am surprised we can stay in business. Not to mention the trouble hiring staff that wont run off all the customers or worse rob you blind. Yes, you have one issue with the restaurants that you can't legally carry where alcohol is served. The restaurant owner is just trying to keep the doors open and pay the bills and the government (local and state) are doing their best to try stop said restaurant from operating. Personally, I think there are too many more important battles to fight, like getting the Fair Tax passed so we do away with the IRS. -

Yeah, keep up the good fight and ask them why they quit carring any books worth reading that I don't already own... The last three books I tried to buy there would not be delived to the Tullahoma store until they had been on the market for 3 months. And of course I wanted them the day they were released, silly me. So I use online stores or just drive to Chattanooga. But it would be worth going back just to see the clerks face when several gentlemen and ladies show up legally armed. -
Unfortunately most members of the House and Senate today seem to think that Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military should be given a raise and told how wonderful they are... Where are the Washington's, Jefferson's, Payne's, etc...? I have heard it said that today no respectable person would ever want to run for office.

I have been stuck using various IBM/Lenovo junk at the office for years. We have a saying around the office that IBM is twice the cost and half capability. We are finally get out of the bad deal we had with IBM (most because we can't buy machines made in China due to contract restrictions) and are buying some Dell's. At home I have used HP, private party buildups and Dells. The Dells always came with less crap on them and they had fewer problems. The biggest problem with the HP & IBM stuff used to be that all components are proprietary so you have to replace it with HP or IBM parts and those parts usually cost more than a whole new machine from another company. I believe both of those companies have moved to using many third party parts because the third parties make better stuff that last longer and are more compatible with the various software products that are available.

It will anyway, so why fight it.
