  1. Thank you. It is a Trijicon RMR. More pr0n: That can is a little too promiscuous for my taste.
  2. It is possible with a standard AR lower. Magazines are not perfect, but once they work... They work. I shot everything from Wolf, Yugo surplus, Silver Bear and WWB with no failures. PMC Bronze for some reason doesn't work.
  3. Same Del-Ton barrel and Osprey Defense piston kit setup as before. I just swapped the flattop receiver with an A1 I just bought. All I need is a Frankenmag to complete the AR/AK hybrid look.
  4. Just waiting on the BATFE to approve the suppressor paperwork. 7.62x39mm Gas Piston AR-15. Quite possible my most favorite homebuild yet.
  5. To make a long story short: I was in the U.S. Army for a while. I trained on the A2. All this was during the AWB and I had limited exposure to the AR-15. When I got out around '05 I bought my first AR. It was a Carbine (16" M4 style) I made it into a 20" w/ A2 stock and then sold it for another M4 style. I spent a lot of money on accessories, furniture, Carbine, Middy etc. and after all that... I'm happy with this. Now with that out of the way, my question is: For you .mil guys do you like what you like better? Firearms like you were issued (or trained with) or unfamiliar firearms [FOR PERSONAL USE]? Which the rifle and carbine versions of the M-16/AR-15 aren't all that different. I know some older gentlemen that swear by the M-14/M1A and just don't care for the AR15.
  6. The Mosin isn't much of a bench gun. Now sandbags/range bag + prone = XTC - sore shoulder or bruised pride. If that was confusing, shoot it prone supported WITH the bayonet and sling. On the bench it is a punisher. Standing and kneeling it is tolerable. Even for my 10 year old son.

Some unsolicited advice: The flash hider makes a good thread protector. Take it off to see how good she really shoots. YMMV
  8. Posted in many, many other threads: Though I'm not totally sold on piston AR's yet: 1.) Runs Wolf 7.62x39mm hollowpoints 2.) No carrier tilt Osprey Defense OPS-416 retrofit kit
  9. Though I'm not totally sold on piston AR's yet: 1.) Runs Wolf 7.62x39mm hollowpoints 2.) No carrier tilt Osprey Defense OPS-416 retrofit kit
  10. Suppressor: 5 weeks shipped from wholesaler to dealer Form 3. 90+ days. Paperwork probably lost or not filled out right.
  11. Sorry wrong link in my post. The one you linked is for a milled kit. The Romanian is a stamped receiver kit. Correct link. https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/1819
  12. Atlantic is more expensive on everything than most online vendors. Try APEX Gun Parts. They have Romanian kits for cheap right now. Corrected link https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/1819
  13. How do you like the FDE? I put the FDE on my son's AR and it bothers the heck out of me. I want to dye it black so badly.
  14. My Egyptian/NDS build Egyptian parts kit, NDS receiver (1 US part), Romanian virgin barrel, Tapco flash hider, trigger and grip (5 US parts) It's not too hard, just teedious. The startup cost of tools and materials isn't worth it for just a one time use. I used a NoDak Spud receiver. I looked into folding a flat but the heat treating and welding wasn't worth the satisfaction of DIY vs the cost of tooling I didn't already own. ETA: Pre made recievers make it so much easier to assemble and may (or not) affect resale value.
  15. If you were an outlaw you wouldn't worry about paying and applying for stamps?
  16. I'm waiting on my Form 4 for one suppressor and my next suppressor is on a Form 3. You would think it would be faster to get a reciept (stamp) for a tax paid than to get a refund check from the U.S. government.

    AR15 Rail

I really like my JP/VTAC modular handguard. Some people don't like rails all over. You could add rail sections where you need it, including 45 degree positions. As far as drop in, you should consider KAC and Magpul MOE rifle length forends.

    Ar 15 Optics?

Some ideas... Trijicon RMR LED model. Will work on high mount pictured below. Trijicon RMR Dual Illumination. Aimpoint T-1/ADM-B2 mount with SOCOM riser. Aimpoint M2 with QRP mount. Trijicon TA50-4R ACOG with TA-60 mount. Will also work with the ADM-B2 mount under the Aimpoint T-1.
