Red Dot reccomendations for a Tacticool Shotgun...
LA_357SIG replied to bassmaster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have a Burris Fastfire on my Mossberg 535 and it works. I don't like the way the dot moves with your head unlike the ACOG. I am going to invest in a set of ghost ring sights 'cause personally I see no advantage of the RDS on a shotgun. -
Just for giggles: a 20" upper on an M4 lower.

Ever consider a midlength 16" upper and A2 stock? To tell you the truth I can't tell the difference when I shoulder this middy or from when I can remember shouldering an A2 from my Army days. more traditional look

$25 for transfer and $10 for T.I.C.S.

I don't agree with buying a complete rifle as your first. I don't see how getting a rifle assembled by a factory is any better than you doing it yourself with the right tools. I switched my Bushmaster collapsable stock with an A2 stock (with an armorers wrench) and the factory stock wasn't staked at all. No grease (just lube oil) on the reciever threads. No loctite (not sure if its really neccessary) on the pistol grip screw. Decent gas key staking, no extractor insert, and a 1:10 twist barrel (1st Remington specs). I bought a used S&W M&P15 and it had most of the small details already done from the factory. I did the same to the Bushy that I could have done myself from a virgin build. My next purchase is going to be either a BCM or LMT midlength upper, BCM BCG and bolt, and a H buffer. You can buy a seperate upper and lower and still save the 11% excise tax.

Well Obama certianly wasn't America's first incompetent president. Just the first black one. BFD

That's amazing how a child can rack the slide but most grown women (and some "men") can't.

It's alright. It wobbles some but it doesn't bother me. I got a killer deal on it from DSG. $99 for the whole shebang. DSG Arms: MAGPUL MOE Kit - Black

Too bad you missed the BDM sale. they were $499 w/ mag. ...Anyway I like it alot. It has a 1:16 barrel and shoots sub 1/2" groups @ 25 yards. I know that's not impressive but I'm doing it with iron sights and crap bulk ammo.

Do you mean "multi" as in type of firearm? I made sure they wrote down and called in "stripped AR15 lower reciever". *If it didn't come with a buttstock assembled when it left the factory you can. It also depends what your FFL called it in as. The manufacturer probably has a record of what lowers left the factory in what configuration by serial number. if it was stripped make it a pistol. *I am not in any way an authority on firearms law. My words are only from my own experience when I made my AR pistol. If you do somethimg and get busted do not tell the ATF LA_357SIG said I could.

Another "Leathal Weapon" victim no doubt. Anyway... I don't bother with the +1. I stopped probably a couple of months after I got my CHP. I feel it's not neccessary and I like the freedom of (if I ever need to) putting the gun up for storage (post office, school, prohibited places) I just unload the chamber and not have to deal with an extra round. the magazine is ready with a fresh round on top (I usually rotate the previously chambered round in the magazine) ready to rack and go when I can carry again.

Appleseed LTR's. CDD lower DPMS lpk TacSol AR22 upper Magpul MOE milspec stock, buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring, grip and handguard Bushmaster carry handle Lower parts kit installation was easier than I thought. Marlin 795 parkerized barrel and Alumahyde'd the reciever Centerpoint 3-9x scope G.I. sling

They both have advantages and dis advantages over each other. But to say the Bullpup is for range use is very ignorant.

AR15 SBR's didn't just happen overnight. The AR15 had about 40 years of evolution and production to get where it is today. Parts have been produced in the billions (existing market). When interest in the AUG platform gains momentum in America spare parts will start showing up. MSAR has spare parts available for its STG 556 right now. Steyr should be coming along with spare parts for its new A3 and for its preban imports. Give me a call when you join the club. We can be AUG buddies.

Oct 29 1992 Dear Mr. XXXXX: This refers to your letter of October 1, 1992, in which you inquire about the legality of manufacturing a handgun which utilizes a rifle type receiver. 26 U.S.C. Chapter 53 # 5845(a)(4), the National Firearms Act (NFA), defines the term "firearm" to include a weapon made from a rifle if such weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel or barrels of less than 16 inches in length. Utilizing the receiver of an existing rifle for the purposes of manufacturing a handgun would constitute the making of a firearm as defined above. Individuals desiring to make such a firearm must first submit an ATF Form 1, Application To Make And Register a Firearm and pay the applicable $200 making tax. If an individual were to obtain a rifle type receiver that had not previously been utilized in the assembly of a rifle, a handgun could be made and not be subject to the provisions of the NFA. Verification must be obtained from the manufacturer of the receiver to establish its authenticity. We trust the foregoing has been responsive to your inquiry. If we may be of any further assistance, please contact us. Sincerely your, (signed) Edward M. Owen, Jr. Chief, Firearms Technology Branch The AR15 PISTOL INFORMATION THREAD !!! - AR15.COM Doesn't have to be stripped. It can be distributed from the factory with internals, grip and NO buttstock assembly installed. Just make sure your FFL writes "pistol" or "unassembled lower AR15 type reciever" on the 4473.

Congratulations on the new Mosin and welcome to the club. There is a Mosin Nancyboy...I mean Nancy PAD club you can join too. ...Oh, and no. Mosins are not bench rest rifles. They are really fun to shoot standing and from trenches. My wife let me dig any to see though. I got mine a couple months ago and I'm already on my 2nd 440rd tin.

I got mine from Ratworx for $1050. Came with (5) 30 round magazines and side rail ($75..i think). Since I already have AR15's and "the thrill is gone" I figured why not. Sale ends @ the end of January BTW...

Just want to say that with the AUG platform you can start out with a 16" barrel and be only 2" longer than a (10.5") SBR'd AR with the stock collapsed, a 20" and be shorter than a 16" AR collapsed and get a 24" AUG barrel and be roughly the same length as a 16" AR extended. Barrel swaps are tres facile.

SBR?...Nah..just go Bullpup! (My MSAR STG 556)
