I shall try this in my Gold Cup.

It was a convertible. I’m thinking 15k-20k were it really slick.

The paint was fading and the body prep work was less than desirable, so I left it there. It is a shame, as everything was there and in good working condition. No rust. Didn’t appear to have been wrecked. Thanks for all the advice and information!

How do you propose we do it, Mac? -
Big Ed's. They also have one in Red Boiling Springs unless it has closed recently.
-
That should be fun, and you didn't have to drill into a classic.

That's sad. Rick Scott was supposedly a rock rib conservative. -

It happened in Nashville. I feel like my country is squeezing folks like me out, little by little. -
I’m supposed to go look at it tomorrow evening. Don’t know about the engine yet. It should have a 1600, right?

Increased velocity and/or lighter projectiles generally make the bullet impact lower in a handgun. This is backward from a rifle. I believe the reduced dwell time the bullet has in the barrel means it exists before the muzzle has a chance to rise as much as it does with a slower projectile with more dwell time. This doesn't seem to be a big factor in rifles. I'm not sure if it's because a rifle bullet has a lower dwell time, or a rifle has less muzzle rise. I suspect the latter is the bigger factor.

Did ya spend more time pushing them or driving them?

So is anyone pre-panic buying yet?

Then knock yourself out there captain! -
It was a good one. Over 300, and I think closer to 400 entries.

Just a friendly reminder: Personal attacks are frowned upon on this forum. If I enjoyed participating here, I'd edit the last two posts you made in this thread were I you. -
I'd like to drive it occasionally, and get her more proficient with a manual transmission. Probably sell it in a few years when the kids get grown and buy a bike. Hopefully, she'd drive it some and discover that she likes old cars? Probably not.

Dad's car.

I've no interest in a Jeep, but thanks for the suggestion.

My father has an MGB, which is similar to a Midget. He built it all himself and has a shelf full of car show trophies it won. It has an aluminum Range Rover v8, Chevy 5 speed manual transmission, and a Dana 44 rear end. It also has 4 wheel disc brakes. It is a fun car.

Perfect vehicle for a snuff dipper.

You know what? I have thought about one of those.

I got to sleep indoors.

One of my very first memories is of riding in my parents' VW Beetle in the back seat. I though it was really cool because I could look down in the floorboard and see the road. I always loved this commercial.

I was second high bidder on a very nice 67 Cobra replica at an auction back in the spring. I have eclectic tastes I suppose. It sold well worth the money.

No, man! I'm open for suggestions. I just want a toy, but the wife also has to agree to it. I've always valued your opinion. If you think it's a bad idea, I wanted to hear it. Better now than after the fact. It's $8950. While that seems like a lot in a way, I haven't seen any nice ones in that price range. I thought I could probably part with it next spring and come out all right if I didn't like it.

How can a bright red convertible Bug not be fun? I'm all ears. Whatdda ya got? I'd love to have another 67 Chevy II 2 door hardtop like I had in high school, but my wife is a tightazz. I also saw a 65 Belvedere and a Model T Ford for sale at a local car show that momentarily piqued my interest this past weekend, so I am open for suggestions. She's out on a motorcycle until the kids are old enough to be independent.
