I want to think it is mandated in Tennessee that on reappraisal year, the county is not allowed to take in more revenue than the year prior, so the tax rate should be adjusted accordingly. If my area saw an increase in property values and yours did not, my bill could increase while yours decreased, but the total county wide cannot exceed last year. That is my feeble understanding of how it works.

Give your wife a big hug for us. I can’t imagine how difficult teaching would be for someone who actually cared and took pride in their job. No way I could do it! I don’t see much agenda directly from teachers. What I see is it sprinkled into the curriculum. There isn’t much a teacher can do about that one way or the other. What the world really needs is a lot more decent parents.

Basically, public schools serve as free babysitters. They are a good environment in which to learn social skills. If a parent is serious about their child’s education, they need to take a primary role in teaching them what they should know. As long as public schools are ran by .gov and there is a teacher’s union, you aren’t likely to see any improvement.

You get a host of different views on a given subject instead of the .gov endorsed AP talking points.

Phil Williams has an agenda and he’s a pekkerhead of the highest order. He does serve a purpose, however. The days of the investigative reporter are pretty much dead. I miss that. Whatever happened to Michael Turko?
