That stuff on stripper clips, that 50's era, isn't it? How does she shoot? Maybe a pic of the bolt face and crown, if you get bored. Thanks. Jay -
I will take this if not yet claimed. Thanks. Jay

A picture of the barrel shank with the arsenal stamp would be helpful. Thanks. Jay

Just finished looking this over on craigslist and thought I'd drop by for a thread bump. What kind of "fuel economy" have you been getting from this land yacht? Jay

A few questions, please. Any idea of manufacture date? Have you shot it? if so, how does it perform? Thanks. Jay

I haven't seen these available for a while. Both J&G Sales and AIMSurplus have them posted for about $550. Jay

My car, my bike and my lawn mower are Honda. If they made a toaster, I'd buy it! Jay

In addition to the 2 Valkyries, I have a Yamaha Zuma 125. It's a lot of fun to ride. I can jump on it and go to the corner store and back before one of the Valkyries even gets fully warmed up. Saves a lot of wear on the big bikes. BTW, my hunt for an 80's UJM is over, as I sealed the deal today on this 1983 Suzuki GS 850L. It has about 16k miles on it and meets 3 of my 4 preferred criteria. (disk brakes, yes, shaft drive, yes, cast wheels, yes and water cooled, no) Water cooled would be less negotiable if this was a daily commuter or if I was still in Texas. Once I go through it, I can unload one of the Valkyries. Until then my garage space is NIL. #firstworldproblems Jay

I've not found any other 80's UJM's to consider, so Sunday I'm going to look at a BMW R1150RTP, ex CHP police bike. I don't know squat about BMW's, but have learned through watching videos for the past few days that BMW stands for Bring More Wallet! Wish me luck, haha!

Well, I was coming here to piss and moan about not getting the XS650 after all, but I defer any remaining piss and moan time to @OldIronFan! Glad you are here in one piece to share that with us. As for the XS, the seller and I had divergent opinions on condition and value, so I will continue searching. Just messaged a local KLR650 seller.....

About to pick up a very minty 1980 XS650. Will probably trade off one of the Valkyries once the XS passes muster. Jay

Drive by bump for a great fellow to do business with.

You just reminded me. When we were training in the swamps of Georgia (Fort Stewart) We'd have our M16 with the blank adapter on it. When patrolling at night, we'd hear wild boars running around. In a futile attempt to feel able to defend ourselves, we'd remove the blank adapter and drop a section of cleaning rod down the bore . None that I knew ever had to deploy the "swamp harpoon", so I have no idea how or if it would have actually worked.

Took a short road trip last night to pick up this fine relic. Been watching a few YT videos to educate myself. Ordered a firing pin and rollers made of modern, improved material for eventual range time. Please share your experiences with this model if you have any. Thanks. Jay

I jut picked up a '69 Govt Model from another forum member' else I'd be all over this. Free bump from an admirer! Jay -
I just scored a '69 Colt Government Model from @AuEagle, also the same age as me. We may have to get all of these 1969 models together for a range session! Congrats on your score. Eagerly awaiting pics! Jay

At first glance, I don't see any blemishes. Much nicer finish than the CZ82 I just got from Centerfire. Import mark on the side of the frame kinda sucks, but at least it's small and almost "blends in". I have to go do my homework to learn disassembly and assembly, manual of arms, etc. Maybe by the spring thaw, I'll have it ready for a test run....
