  1. Yeah, I bought a good camera not to long ago. With the kids getting older I plan on taking a ton of pictures over the next few years. I enjoy taking pics as much as shooting my guns.
  2. If you ever call one in you'll get it. It's like see a big buck during deer season, the heat starts pumping, the breathing picks up, etc. For me it's much more fun than deer hunting (just my 2cents). I also do some trapping for farmers that have sheep and goats. They can take a toll on farm animals and calling/trapping them can help make new friends (the farmer). Killing a few kiyotes can also help you pick up some deer hunting land!
  3. I have a few other that were given to me to clean up and put away and I know nothing about them. I might take pics of them and post them too.
  4. I was going to change that this morning but figured nobody would notice. lol I was wrong.
  5. MARKED ON TOP OF BARREL: J STEVENS AT&T CO. CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS PAT. SEPT. 16, 1864 SIDE OF THE BARREL: 32 37856 0 (I think it's an 0) This rifle has been in the family for many years and we just want to find out what it's worth. Not looking to sell just wanted some info.
  6. The wife shooting the XD and SW
  7. that just tans hides? All I'm talking about is fleshing and tanning. I've done some ADC work and sometimes I catch a rare color of what ever animal and would like to tan them but most taxidermists will not tan, they want to do the entire animal. Anyone?
  8. I was in the market for a new AR and found a fella in middle Tennessee that cut me a heck of a deal on one. He dosen't advertise except by word of mouth. If you looking to buy a new rifle or handgun give him a call. The name of the place is Stacey's Outdoor World in Red Boiling Springs.
  9. I talke to the Royal Blue officer last year and he said "you can use T shot while goose season is in". A good 12ga with T shot with a good choke can put them down. If ya partner up with someone, use a 12 ga and 22mag. I've killed them with both.
  10. It's hard to not be jacked up about hunting. I wait all year for the weather to cool off and the deer to start growing horns, and after deer season it's time to hunt coyote. whoo hoo lets go now.

    Scents??

I think scent control is a good thing, but cover scents are way over done by most people. I do believe that a Tinks #69 scent works well at the right time of year, but in the right set up. Opening day I don't use anything other than a scent eliminator. If you have done your homework, finding food source, trails, ect. you do just fine.
  12. Shooting a coyote that is attacking your dog is one thing, but shooting a skunk with night vision might not be the best thing to try. I've never had a coyote run at me, other than in a trap. I think you have a higher chance of another domestic dog jumping your pets than a coon, kiyot, or skunk. If ya have problems with those animals try trapping them out.
  13. I'm not real big on ground blinds. I have used them but only after they set in the woods for awhile and the deer became use to them. I don't mind them so much during a rifle/ML season but not during bow season. That's just my 02 cents.
  14. That's a healthy looking group of deer, keep em coming.
  15. is that a yote??!!![/HTML] Ya that's a yote, it was one of the bigger males I've taken.
  16. A few pics A coyote I called this year
  17. Hunting is not for everyone, before buying all the stuff that goes along with it, find someone willing to let ya tag along. You will know within the first few hunts if it's something you like to do. Hunting is more than setting in a treestand and waiting on deer to pass by. You will see many things that most people will never see. A few years ago a buddy asked me to play golf with him. I never thought I would enjoy it, but I did. Take the time to try it and see what happens.
  18. I gotta say I've checked this site out a few times and decided to join in. I'm not real big into computers but I like to hunt and shoot. I belong to a couple of other boards that are for deer/kiyote hunters and have a good time with them, I hope you fellas are as much fun. Mike
