  1. Did the cop happen to be an older grey haired fella? Kinda look like Eric Estrada?
  2. Thanks guys. This kinda helps me make up my mind. It's hard to spend that kind of money on something I've not shot. I've passed on a couple used ones that were for sale. Guess I should have jumped while I had the chance.
  3. Is the Battlecomp worth the money? Or is there one that's just as good for less money? Looking for something to help control muzzle flip.

    Your First Car!

    81 vette......Chevette that is.
  5. Nothing but a good experience for me as well.
  6. Nice! I've owned a buch of rifles, but the 700 bolt is the only one that has managed to elude me. Looks like cool paint work too.
  7. Had an itch to put together an AR. This will be the first build for me and I hope it turns out well. I picked up the lower yesterday and with some left over parts from my other AR I was able to get started.
  8. I recieved the stuff about 4 hours after the "your order has been shipped" email. Communication seems to be the root cause of most problems when dealing with people. Anyway, I recieved the stuff and all is well. Will I order from them again? Maybe. Now that I know what to expect it won't be a big deal.
  9. I'm not starting this as a bash thread. Just wanted to know if this is the norm.
  10. I placed an order last Sat. PSA sent an email thanking me for the order and telling me I would receive an email when shipped. I've never received that email. Are they just slow to ship or do they not tell ya if it's back ordered?I hate to order something only to be told weeks later it's on back order.
  11. Glad she is ok. Things like this happen all the time but it never make the news. Ya hear stories like this way too much. A family member told us a story just yesterday of a young girl taken from a WM parking lot. She was forced into a car, made to drive away, and sexually assaulted. Take the time to remind the wife and daughter(s) to fight with all they have, and do not to get into a vehicle no matter what!
  12. Looks like someone is up for the "dad of the year" award!!!!
  13. Give us a little story with the pic. How did ya call it in? The .17 could kill deer if hit right. It's just not a hunting round I'd use. I can't hold the rifle still enough to hit it between the eyes. The last one I lost was with a .22mag at 50 yards. It was all my fault too. I tried a straight on chest shot. The coyote went into the spins and rolled over the hill. I never did find him. Anyway, good shooting Brokn. Nice kill!
  14. Been snaring for the last five years. Before ya start read the laws on snares. After reading them make sure it's what ya want to do. It takes some time to check them as needed. Also think about the non target animals you could (and will) catch. Coyote, dogs, and fox will use the same travel routes. Setting snares for coyote I use a 11'' loop 11'' off the ground. This set could also catch free running dogs, but smaller animals will slip around or under the loop. On real thick areas I set the snares where the travel lanes narrow into one lane. Setting them like this reduces the number of snares I set/check. BTW the ones you are looking at are illegal. They don't look like they have deer stops. The stops keep deer from getting a leg caught in the loop. The stops can be added, but it's just as cheap to buy the correct ones. I caught this one going under a chain link fence on a semi large farm. On fences I set the snare loop a little smaller. I also set the bottom of the snare wire about 2'' off the ground. This one I caught using the 11'' loop 11'' off the ground with a double cross stake set up.

    AR lowers

This is what I've been looking for. Good thread with info that's needed.

    AR lowers

Been thinking about building an AR. I've done some research and it seems that there are a ton of lower options. A few brand names keep popping up. Is there that big of a difference between a Spikes lower, a Bravo Co lower, or a Stag lower? Or are all of them the same with just different logos? I've never been able to just pick up different lowers to compare the quality. I'm not looking to build a 2k dollar rifle, but I don't want to skimp on certain things and the lower is one of them. Done some reading on AR15.com and the guys tend to lose me. I'm not lost with the jargon, but with the attitudes that sometimes slips through.
  17. Cheering for Bama, but LSU has a way of winning the second half big. With no turnovers Bama could pull it off.
  18. I never had problems shooting the +p Speer GD. It had a little more kick than the rest, but I figured if for some reason I had to shoot it I'd never know the difference. BTW has anyone shot he wadcutters loaded backward? Been talked about, but never seen it used.
  19. The model 70 has an easy to adjust trigger. I don't remember where I found the info to adjust, but it was a simple step by step procedure. The best thing was it cost $0 to do.
  20. Sorry to hear it. I've lost 30lbs over the last seven months only to start having back trouble. Trying to take it easy and healing has all but killed my hunting season too. This is the first time in a looong time I wasn't in the woods opening day of ML or rifle season. Hang in there. Getting old isn't much fun!
