Not one thing. Nicely is a great person, and I like him personally, Ramsey will not pull for this to pass, and if anyone does not think he is still pulling strings, they have soft spots in their head. With Lundberg on Judiciary, does anyone expect any firearms bills to get a fair shake? Beth is the one who killed it last year, she is still in power...

Teachers denied 2nd amendment in TN
Worriedman replied to serbu50's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Tennessee is an "At Will Employment" State. that is where your employer get the ability to let you go for any or no reason. -
Knoxville Allowing Fair to Prohibit Guns in a Park
Worriedman replied to Just2Honor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is correct! The strange thing is that there were no pleadings in the case, none to dismiss, no activity whatsoever that I can find. The blurb put out by the NRA is from the wife well known Tennessee Republican campaign advisor Ward Baker. Conversely, if one were to be convicted of drug crimes in the "area", our "near Parks" laws may not apply there any more... -

They get together with whoever is in charge, and make deals to assure future access. When they go to the Legislature they stop by Beth's office first...was not that way when Daren LaSorte was our man from Virginia...I worked Employee Safe Commute with him, he was tough as nails! -

What you should have heard is they were not willing to work, and will beat their chest in the future about how they "Won" to protect our Firearms Rights... Settlement is only binding on the single individual who was named as the plaintiff...how is that for top shelf lawyering? -

NRA is the one that backed THIS suit...they accepted the settlement, think they are out of money? -

Constitutional carry for New Hampshire and Texas?
Worriedman replied to DaveTN's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
John Lundberg was placed on Senate Judiciary, you can forget anything gun related passing out of that committee... -
Eight years for $50.00 or $200.00 for lifetime once you come up for renewal.(must wait till 6 months prior to renewal if you currently have a permit) Got to live 32 more years to make that worth while...at 63 I think I will just renew at the end of the 7 years out I am.

The likes or wants of the "legislature" has nothing to do with what gets passed, or even out of committee, all boils down to leadership, Bill and Beth mainly. You put a gun bill on the floor it gets passed. Current committee chairs all remain the same, all at the desire of the Speaker, and till we change that, nothing changes. As long as the Chamber of Commerce donates the largest amount of money to campaigns, and the sitting legislators are afraid of the Sheriff's Association, Tennessee will never join West Virginia and Missouri with decent gun bills. We have a few good bills up and ready to run, and a surprise or two.

Permittless carry would allow the single mother, who works for a living and is trying to drag herself up to not have to pay the vig to enjoy a Right already hers. I am going to keep my permit as I travel it will not make much difference in the total permit numbers, and I believe the State is violating the Constitution by charging me a tax on a Right. As far as those who harp about training and driver's license, ever spent a day in traffic court, and see all those who drive without a license who get $10.00 fine and nothing else? Ever think about illegal aliens who drive without license? they are criminals and criminals do not obey the law, and criminals will carry gun without a permit.

We do have a fund specific set up for this suit, interested parties can PM me. -
I agree Dave, all the more reason to vet the candidates for State legislative office and to get involved in the campaigns. Keyboarding about Rights or what should be is one thing. Putting our money where our mouth is what needs to happen. Letting Jon Lundberg take Ramsey's senate seat is the worst thing that could happen for our shared interest. He is a puppet for the Haslam control manifest. Tony Shipley is a friend our endeavors to remove restrictions on lawful carry, and is an anti-Haslam candidate for that seat. Sending Sargent home is just as important. These races may not be in your district, but they are very important to the effort.

From the ruling and attached article: “The protection of the Second Amendment — whatever the scope of that protection may be — simply does not extend to the carrying of concealed firearms in public by members of the general public.” http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/breaking-federal-appeals-court-rules-no-constitutional-right-to-carry-a-concealed-gun/

As States Expand Gun Rights, the Police Object
Worriedman replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
No they will not have to do any such thing. (The policia are goin to ultimately have to accept the fact that "Constitutional Rights" are rights that work everywhere...) The Police State has courts and jails, they get to take your money on the side of the road for no reason other than you have it in your possession...refusing to honor their oaths and suppressing Liberty are just what the Chiefs do these days. -
Specifically Sen. Brian Kelsey and House Member Jon Lundberg, (currently running to fill Ron Ramsey's open seat in the Senate. Lundberg as a member of the House civil Justice sub committee killed more good gun bills with the assistance of Jim coley and Mike Carter than any other individuals in the General Assembly).

TN College Employee Carry Bill
Worriedman replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Can't have that, the Chamber of Commerce, Sheriff's Association, Police Chief's Association and UT would get the vapors...why allowing the permitted little people to carry just everywhere would lead to blood in the dorms and stadiums, positively unconscionable. -
Why not make Stop Signs black then if color does not matter. The Bill sponsors wanted the signs "conspicuous".
