  1. I like my Silent Thunder holsters pretty well. The only issue I've had is the HD clip on the revolver holster wants to slip off my Wilderness belt ( http://www.thewilderness.com/tactical-belts/ ) which is admittedly not as thick as my leather gun belt.
  2. I recently got this one from JGSales. It was a Corrections Dept. gun in California...looks new IMO. They still have a bunch, though all that are left are DAO. Apparently there are also currently a bunch of Smith revolvers of different flavors returned from Puerto Rico. Search the S&W forum for more info.
  3. Greetings from a former Pi chapter member....seems like yesterday.  Dieu et les Dames!
  4.   FWIW, JGSales has a bunch of police trade-in 64's right now, though all they have left are DAO.
  5.   Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for one.  In the meantime I recently soothed my desire for a half or no-lug revolver by purchasing a S&W 64-6.
  6.   This kind of garbage is infuriating.  They absolutely MUST have $100k to unnecessarily change the HCP for open carry passage....they're just trying to be accurate after all.  This from the same folks, who, when (State) Parks carry passed they made sure that none of the 'No Firearms Allowed' signs need be removed from State Park entrances.  With state legislative and administration friends like these, who needs enemies?
  7. Are these still the Greek returns like they had a few years ago?  I was at the South store in '08 or '09 and the racks of HRA Correct grades looked like they just rolled off the assembly line.

    Painting sights

I repainted this CZ-75b after the factory light-gathering glow sights had long since faded.....used some Testors model paint. I agree with others that a white coat under the color makes a big difference. Pics aren't the greatest but here ya go... The fixed sights on this S&W model 64 were just a dull gray on gray...awful IMHO. I painted the rear notch a flat black and the front neon orange.
  9. I like that they eliminated the full underlug.  That's my only quibble with the regular GP, though I understand that lots of folks like it.  It'd be nice to have the option without stepping up to 'Match' price.
  10. Great knives! I have one from before their name change. It's my go-to backpacking knife.
  11. Well, since the suspect was A.) Not armed, B.) a woman and C.) an African-American the MSM will usher this out of the limelight as quickly as possible...unless, of course, they can tie her to the Tea Party.
  12. Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest has a number of trails.  http://www.main.nc.us/graham/hiking/joycekil.html   The Piney River Gorge trail is nice...  http://www.cumberlandtrail.org/piney_river.html   I'm not certain if these are affected by the shutdown.
  13. Way to go Colorado!  Both Morse and Giron RECALLED!
  14. I find myself completely unimpressed by the Alexander ads.  First there's the fishing ad.  Is that really his crowning achievement?!  As a Tennessean I find this embarrassing, especially with all the vastly more important issues we've been facing the past few years.  Now there's his ad about Obamacare.  So he told Obama that premiums would go up.  Yeah well, he's not exactly Nostradamus.  Anyone who isn't a low info voter knew not to buy Obama's b.s. on that one.  And this leads me back to the "Nobody wants to say no to Lamar Alexander" line from the fishing ad.  If that's true, if the senior statesman holds so much sway, why did he fail so spectacularly to convince his fellow Senators to vote against Obamacare.  It is the law of the land after all.  Blech!
  15. FWIW...     http://www.grantcunningham.com/lubricants101.html
  16. I named this one Rupert, but I eventually relocated him, his sibling and their mother. The dad I never could catch but he eventually moved on.
  17. But, but, but.....He saved fishing!!!            Anybody else wanna throw something at the TV when that ad comes on?  All the hugely important issues going on right now and Lamar is crowing about saving fishing.   :puke:
  18. There are a couple of local hiking/backpacking Meetup groups I participate in and I stumbled across this group recently.  It doesn't appear to have a lot going on currently but it could be a good way to meet other shooters and introduce some to the hobby.  I'm not affiliated with it BTW.   http://www.meetup.com/Nashvilleareashootersmeetup/
  19.   Done.  I let Corker know I was embarrassed to have him represent our state.  I'm so sick of our RINOs.  And all O had to do was take him to dinner and golfing a few times.
  20. It's getting to be tough to keep up with all the scandals, they've really been coming fast and furious (ahem) this past week. First, the media at large finally pays attention to Benghazi, then the IRS is exposed for targeting conservative and pro-Israel groups, now the Justice Dept. has secretly been keeping tabs on AP reporters.  That last one might actually get the press to finally turn on Obama, and, as one article put it, if they start treating his administration like they treat Republicans, he's finished.  We can only hope.
  21. I'm giving this show a shot just 'cause Rockne O'Bannon has a hand in it and he was behind the Farscape series, which I really enjoyed.  So far it's.....okay.  I'm not hooked but not ready to shun it just yet.
  22. Just saw this from GOA...http://gunowners.org/a05082013.htm     I've been guilty of letting up in contacting them since Toomey-Manchin failed in its first attempt.....guess it's time to put on more steam!
  23. I wonder, did Holder raise a stink over Washington and Colorado legalizing marijuana in conflict with Federal law?  Nope, he's dragging his feet on the issue because this Administration could care less about enforcing those laws.     http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/attorney-general-eric-holder-feds-weighing-impact-on-children-of-pot-laws-in-colorado-wash-st     They pick and choose which laws they wish to enforce depending on whether or not it fits their ideology.
  24. Great article, spot on!   http://www.nationalreview.com/article/347263/dishonest-gun-control-debate
  25. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach responds...     http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/05/kansas-to-eric-holder-were-not-backing-down/   Hear, hear!!  If only Tennessee had shown the same backbone...ahem, cough, cough...I'm lookin' at you Kelsey!
