  1. The Walther PK380 is a little big and the LCR is better in the front pocket. I would check out the Walther PPS .40S&W for a better SD gun and its smaller than the PK380.
  2. sig p238 is perfect for front pocket or cargo carry. In the Jeff Sig Holster looks just like a wallet in tight pants.
  3. I got the LCR w CT and my wife won't shoot it due to the recoil being such a light gun. I wish I could have waited for the LCR .357 for myself. I turn on the CT switch when I place it in the holster and certainly plan to use it if the need arises.
  4. Thanks guys, I have decided on the HD because if is good looking and feels more substantial in my hand. I'll give a range report as soon as I have a day off and get to the range. Very good advice from everyone!
  5. So why Nitron over Bi-tone other than the look of a black gun?
  6. I have been looking at the Sig P238 to purchase for pocket summer carry. The Bi-tone with blackwood grip is 15 oz and the Stainless HD is 20 oz. The Bi-tone would be more comfortable for EDC in a pocket holster but the HD would have less recoil and nearly indestructible. The price is more for the HD version but is it worth the extra cost and weight? I would value your opinions. Sig HD Products & Services Sig Bi tone Products & Services

I carried a M9 on active duty in Iraq and felt it was very rugged and reliable so now have a PX4 .45 that is very accurate with little recoil for civialian carry. You could do worse. I don't like 1911's cocked and lock thing.

  9. I have the .45 and love it. Be careful when you clean it because the slide release lever will just fall out and will lose the spring. It never jams. The recoil is much less than any other .45 that I shoot.
  10. I took my ruger apart to try to simulate your problem and the only thing I found was the slide stop release button sometimes sticks in the mid position so if I press it all the way down then the bolt release will pull out. I hope this helps.
  11. did you take the magazine out befor pulling out the backstrap lever? If the lower arm of the release doesnt swing free and out all the way the bolt will not pull out of the hole behind the sights. It is a tight fit but the more you fire it and repeated takedowns the more it looses up and get easier. Good luck! I love my Ruger 22/45 except that it only runs smoothly on CCI mini-mags.
  12. I ordered one 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. It was for a Taurus 605 so why the delay?

    snub 357

I just purchased a Taurus .357 605 2in and love it. Very accurate and shoot as well with it as my Ruger LCR. I use 38+P in both for EDC.
  14. For HD nothing beats a 12G pump.
  15. IMHO I would trade the Ruger LCR for a SA XDM 9mm. The reason is the snubbie 357 is far better and concealable. The LCR has terrible sights and recoil. A XDM is far better than any Glock.
  16. No wear on the backstrap since its so easy to take on and off. My PX4 .45 is for the nightstand or in a IWB holster for travel to Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis. They are very dangerous cities where I have to be.
  17. I put my Walther PPS in a safe packer in the trunk when I go to work and take the backstrap off which disables the gun and place the backstrap in my pocket. That way if my car is stolen from the parking lot the gun is disabled. After I leave work I go to the trunk and put the backstrap back on and place the gun in the vehicle next to me for the drive home. If I have to go to the store I just pull the PPS out and place it in a pocket holster for CC. It is really cool.
  18. Same thing happened with my wife shooting Walther PPS .40 S&W for her HCP class. She now shoots my XDM 9mm without complaints. I also got her a bicycle glove for range use when she shots a lot of rounds.

    Beretta PX4

I have a px4 .45 and it works flawlessly. The only problem I had was during take down I lost the slide catch spring and sent the gun back to Beretta in the case and they fixed it as a warranty repair. I love this gun! You must have a lemon.
  20. +1n on n the PPS. I have the PPS .40 and it is very accurate and reliable. Ideal for EDC. I just wish the grip was thicker like the 380 model.
  21. How do you carry your pistol that has a tactical light and laser combo mounted on the front rail? I have a PX4 and I don't see any practical holster for it. Is it that its only good as a nightstand gun or under the car seat? Any ideas?
  22. Does anyone know what MRDS has a mount to fit a Beretta PX4 .45 Cal? My eyesight is getting too bad to see the Front site well and I see several people at USPSA events with tricked out holographic sites but they don't have Beretta's.
  23. Let her pick it out. She should go to the range with her friends that shoot and try them all out first.
  24. Does it really matter? I would not want to display my military ID or DD214 on a public forum.
