  1. The Stoeger is a Beretta clone, and considered very high quality. The Ruger P95 is a solid dependable gun. As you say, the Ruger is less expensive, and resale value will be higher with the Stoeger. The Stoeger may shoot a little straighter. Take down and re-assembly will be a bit odd with the Stoeger, because it features a rotating barrel. Personally, I think you should buy the Ruger and use the left over $70 for ammo.
  2. A good solid AK is still worth $500. No doubt in my mind.
  3. My understanding is that if you shoot a light bullet in .243, you have a fine varmint rifle. Heavier bullets for deer. Kind of an all purpose round. I have not seen this particular rifle in .223, but there ARE other makes of varmint rifles in .223.
  4. Lots of RWS 9mm in Hixson WalMart, too. It's priced high, BUT it's available. That's the important thing. It looks as if shooting is going to become a wealthy man's sport, except for 22lr.
  5. I'm hoping it's been bore-sighted at least, but I'm not counting on it. And it's almost $1 a pop to fine tune it.
  6. Yes it has the PAD, and the accutrigger. I bought it this afternoon. There was only the display model left, and I took it, even though it was missing the lens covers for the scope. The stock is el cheapo synthetic. The magazine is strictly interior (no trap door) and must be loaded one at a time from the top. But if it shoots straight, I'll be happy. Price was $384 plus tax and TBI check up. I picked up six boxes of .243 ammo (100 grain) too. So I'm good to go, and plan to do some sighting in asap. Here's a photo of the rifle....
  7. I was told by the clerk (who went in the back to check) that they had all the models in stock. This was last week. Let's both get one!
  8. I shouldn't tell you, or you might go buy the one I'm eyeing! But yes, that's the Hixson Walmart on 153.
  9. They stock 243, 270, 308 and 30-06 in this model. I'll be getting the .243 sometime this week, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.
  10. I presume you are kidding, right!?
  11. Thanks for your advice everyone. I'll be 63 this year, and my shoulders are getting bony, so I prefer a lower recoil. I think I will pass on the .308, and get a .243. Just in case anyone ever asks me to go along deer hunting with them, I believe .223 might be just a tad too light. So I will opt for the .243. I noticed today at my local WalMart, too, that they are well-stocked in .243, moreso than the other calibers. Also, I'm sure the 700 is super excellent, but it's a few hundred dollars above my budget, especially by the time I paid for a scope.
  12. Well, but I hate recoil. I won't be reloading. Is the ots 308 more accurate than the ots 243?
  13. I'm looking at the rifle primarily as a target shooting, develop my marksmanship, rifle. If it shoots well, I can see getting a better scope some day. I'm not interested in ever shooting beyond 200 yards. LB, I can't find much about the 10FXP in the internet, but that's what it is. I think it is a 110 package specially for WalMart.
  14. WalMart is selling the Savage 10FXP for $384. It has a black synthetic stock, a scope, and can be had in 243, 308, 270 or 30-06. I'm thinking of plunking down the dollars for a 243 model, since I hate recoil. What do you think? Is it a good deal?
  15. The new gun is based on the Grendel, but hardly the same.
  16. The original MAK-90 trigger is considered to be one of the better AK triggers.
  17. Silvers Prices are VERY good. I've bought three handguns and a Kel-Tec sub2000 from him. His place is a little hard to find, but worth it.
  18. He's been there for years. Nice place to buy guns. He works out of his garage/gun store.
  19. I have none for sale, but if you live in the Chattanooga area, Silvers Firearms has a lot of these little guns. His place is near Cleveland...scroll on down this web page... Silvers Firearms
  20. Get a few more magazines. Number them all so you can tell which are which. I'm betting you have some bad magazines. Find out which they are and toss.

    Taurus Pt-92

I've always admired that gun, and would like to get one some day. I would like it to be highly polished chrome with pearl grips. And yes I know what Patton said.

    Kel Tec PMR-30

I want one too, but I want to wait for a year after they come out. I'm positive there will be bugs and glitches.
  23. Das ist gut! Haben sie einen guten Tag! Ich bin ein Schuler der Duetsch. Aber nicht sehr gut, Heute.
  24. Nice translation, Threeshot! No Jagermeister for me. I've tried lots of different alcoholic drinks, and they all taste bitter to me. I'd rather have coffee or a Coke.
  25. This is an old German poem for all you hunters...Or you may have seen it on a Jagermester bottle... Das ist des Jägers Ehrenschild,Daß er beschützt und hegt sein Wild,Waidmännisch jagt, wie sich’s gehört,Den Schöpfer im Geschöpfe ehrt.
