  1. I had a Ruger SR9, and was sorry after I traded it away.. I like the looks of this new model.
  2. Nice pics!
  3. I've tried 1200 grit sandpaper (NOT on my guns) and it makes it worse.. I'm going to try a buffing wheel and jeweler's polish to see if that works.
  4. I'd like to know how you guys get light scratches off stainless too..
  5. That is way cool! Any ideas as to where will it probably lurk?

    People of walmart?

Great website - I'm always looking for anyone doing the Wal-Mart strut.
  7. From the website: "The phosphors are Alkaline Earth Metal Compounds doped with Europium" Sounds just like me in college..

    22-250

I picked up a cheap single-shot 22-250 rifle at Dick's that I could use to teach my boys to shoot, instead of just putting quick holes in a target. I think it's been a pretty good choice - they have to take their time and focus, but are getting more and more accurate at higher distances. (Better than me sometimes....)
  9. I figure the only time this will be out of the holster (Bianchi Carry-lok) is when I'm putting it in the safe for the night or when I need to shoot someone. Hopefully I won't drop it in either of those circumstances.

  11. I tried it yesterday with and without the pinky extension, and I like shooting it more with it on there. I may keep one mag stock for carry - I'll see how much it sticks out. I also tried a slip-on grip, but took that off - I like the feel better without it.
  12. Congratulations Arko - looks like a nice gat, especially for the price! (And you WILL love 1911s - no doubt!)
  13. OK - I took the new G26 to the range (G&L) today, put 150 rounds through it, loaded it with Gold Dots, and carried it for the rest of the day. Still have my arse. It shot almost perfectly, a shade to the left at 15 yards, right on the money at 25. (Just my getting used to it, probably?) No failures of any kind, very little felt recoil, no problems whatsoever, except I ran out of ammo too fast. When I got home, my 11 year old field stripped it so I could clean it. Doesn't get any better than that. It's a keeper.
  14. I saw this at IMAX (in 3d) as a Christmas treat with my kids, and thought it was the best money we've spent in a long time. (Trust me - I hate paying theater prices for almost any movie!) Bush, Cheney, Obama, etc.? I didn't see any overt references to much of anything other than it's 'green' theme. I'm always amazed at how people dissect movies for hidden meanings - I just go to enjoy a good flick.
  15. Thanks guys - I'm looking forward to trying it out. The TWRA range is closed this week and next - I may have to wait a bit to put some ammo through it. I'll look into the slip-on grips - that sounds like good advice.
  16. I avoided it as long as I could.. Finally gave in and bought my first Glock. I've been looking for a 9mm that I can shoot at the range and carry occasionally - picked up this G26 brick at Guns & Leather today. It fits perfectly in a holster I made for my PT145. Now I'll have to sell a couple of things to get back my gun fund.
  17. If I tried to buy my pretty wife an appliance for a Christmas gift I'd be wearing it as a new hat. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/67479/wrong_gift/
  18. I have a Bond Snake Slayer IV and one of their Driving Holsters. Probably not the most practical carry weapon, but it has a definite 'cool factor'. The quality and workmanship on both the pistol and the holster are excellent.
  19. Man, you guys are in trouble if your wives ever read this forum...! Make sure the password protection is working.
  20. Krakauer does a good job in all his books of bringing detail to light - whether people want him to or not. Good review - I'm going to pick up a copy.

    My new 1911...

    Wow - very nice! Congrats.

    What are you doing?

Am I the only one working? (It's ok - TGO is allowed during 'down-time'.)
  23. I carry the Critical Defense in my 380s too - because it cycles through them just fine, and I bought into Hornady's sales pitch. Worrying too much about what goes into my BUG makes my head hurt.

    Dual Wielding

    Wow - those are B.E.A.utiful!
