    Batman & Guns

I know there are some other comic book fans out there! I found this article interesting - and it has lots of potential avatar images. Silver Age Comics: Batman And Guns
  2. Chattanooga Choo Choo used to have some nice package deals available - incl a decent dinner/breakfast (in their restaurant) and admission to the aquarium for a pretty low price. (It was a big hit with my kids, don't know if it would be with your fiancee....)

    S.R.P

That is a good looking pistol - well worth the wait, eh?
  4. Wow.
  5. Toooo funny!
  6. Me too. (I filed the edges down on my HCP badge and keep it handy in my pocket for when I need a throwing star.)
  7. My vote was for OC vs CC - Someone may one day actually change their mind about the others (except maybe about Kwik..) but NO ONE will likely change their opinion about this topic!
  8. Welcome aboard Marco - Salud!

    Glock Modifications

Probably better than Punisher grips on a 1911...
  10. "Should guns be allowed in areas where alcohol is served?" Wouldn't it be nice if it read 'Should legal carry permit holders be allowed to carry their guns in areas where alcohol is served?" Might get a different response..

    1911 Killer

Nice. May have to add one of those to my wish list. I really like the wood grips. I make my own for my 1911s, but I can't say they turn out looking like those.

    Glock Modifications

C'mon guys - I like it! (Flames yes, clip no.)
  13. I've fired all of the ones on your list, and agree with the statement above. I didn't much like the Beretta - it was nice to shoot, but harder to conceal than the others. The Walther is easy to conceal, but I find that the thin frame makes it really uncomfortable to shoot. I think the Glock is probably your best choice, based on price, reliability, and comfort.
  14. I go to the Stones River range a lot, and think some of you guys need to cut the RSO's a little slack. Yes - I've been growled at once or twice for perhaps insignificant things, but I understand how difficult it must be to handle some of the people I've seen shooting there, and their lack of knowledge or disregard of common safety practices. I've been there when the safety inspection reveals guns that would be dangerous to shoot or people who don't have the first clue about how to handle a weapon. I don't mind at all putting up with the RSO's and the range rules - it's a safe, inexpensive place to shoot. By the way - Friday is a great day to go, especially if you're there in the morning when they open. I haven't tried Sunday, but Saturdays can be packed.
  15. I get Guns & Ammo and American Rifleman - both are ok, but always leave me wanting more...
  16. +1 Me too - this is great!
  17. Not to mention all the hot alien babes.
  18. Go with the night sights. I recently purchased a CT laser for my G26, and removed it after a couple of weeks because the grip was no longer comfortable for me (one of the reasons I like my Glock in the first place!). It was also much harder to conceal the gun due to the laser's 'bump' on the right side - that little piece seems to stick out a mile for me. I haven't decided if I'm going to sell the CT or keep it in case I get a non-carry Glock, but I'll carry my G26 without it. (I have night sights on it, and really like them.)
  19. I've recently made a couple of 'ST-type' holsters, and was able to get good retention with most if not all of the contact with the gun being at the trigger guard. Time will tell if they wear more than my leather ones. I found that Kydex is pretty easy to work with - the holsters turn out pretty nice, and they don't take me near as long to make.
  20. Me too. 9mm wouldn't be bad either - nice affordable ammo.

    ooh pwetty....

Good call! My sons used to be happy shooting their .22s - now they want to shoot my .45s, and they make me look bad when they do. It's all good!

Cool! If she's like my boys, it won't be too long before she will out-shoot you..!
  23. These look interesting.. Web site says late fall 2009 - anyone have an idea when they'll really be available? I also still want to see one of the Chiappa Rhino revolvers..

    My New Colt

Man, is that pretty! Great idea to display in a coffee table - will you leave them there all the time, or just put them out for special occasions?
  25. Welcome aboard - bet you'll enjoy the AR!
