Going to StLouis MO, question about CC there?
andersmg replied to andersmg's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well we went on our trip and all was well! I carried in the tourist mode with a nice fanny pack and didn't have any trouble at all. We got out of there last night just in time apparently to miss the now looming ice storm! If any of you have ever thought about seeing the "TSO" live I highly recommend it! They put on a wonderful show and we really enjoyed it, we will probably go see them again. http://www.trans-siberian.com/index-main.php -
Yea, this is a great flashlight for the money! I have two of them and will probably pick up a couple more, it is very "enlightening"!

I have a ruger single six, ruger MarkII, walther P22, Ruger 10 22 rifle, and a remington speedmaster.

I am curretnly looking into the AR15 weapons. I know nothing about them so I have some reading to do... But, I will most likely have one shortly into the new year.

I hit a deer a couple years ago and when the Tenn Trooper got there he asked me if the deer was dead, I told him yes and he said good because he said if he had to shoot it he had to fill out a long report about discharging his duty weapon, he also said he was thinking about getting another weapon to keep in his car to dispatch any hit deer with to keep from filling out the report. I asked him if it was still alive if I could have finished it and he said yes, he prefered it that way again to save him the paperwork. The rule for keeping or posessing road kill is you just have to notify a LEO that you hit the deer and tell him you are going to keep it and you don't even have to legally check it in like you do if you kill one while hunting. If you have the deer processed though I am sure it will still have to have a kill tag. Having said all that I would do as dunndw said and call LE to let them know I was going to finish the deer and then make sure of your shot direction and placement and finish it off. I hate for them to have to suffer, even when I am hunting I try my best to make a clean quick kill shot.

I decided to carry a glock for the same reasons as LE do, cost, reliability, simple quick dependable operation. I look at it as the less I have to remember about how to operate my handgun if I should need to use it the better off I am. I also am not a clean freak about my guns and I like the fact that my glock will shoot under most any dirty condition I may let it get to. I am sure there are other handguns that would match the criteria of my Glock for myself but I do not have the time and funds to try all of them and I have read enough good reviews and reports on the glock to put my trust in it. I have also shot it enough now and had no jams, ftf's or nd's with it so I completely trust it for safety and reliability. I like trying out other handguns when I get the chance to and may one day carry another brand but for now I will just carry my glock and KISS...

My son in law asked me this today and my quick answer was no, am I correct? He was asking if you could keep one behind the seat in your truck for example...

Thanks for the info! -
We are going in a couple of weeks for a weekend trip to St Louis and I need to know what I can or can not do regarding carrying while we are there. Can I carry concealed there? I read on another site something about concealed carry not allowed? We are planning to go to the TSO, (Trans Siberian Orchestra) show which will be at the Scott Trade Center downtown, we are also staying dowtown. I would like to have my glock with me at all times but dont want to get put in jail if I did have to defend myself while there. I am hoping some of you may know the laws or have some good links for me to study up on... Thanks!

Yea, it is great to take a child hunting! I have taken my 10yr old grandson and my 13 yr old nephew this year although neither of them were successful, we still had a good time.

Thanks! I am pretty deadly with a rifle and a scope, the handgun is another thing though...

I hunted yesterday morning and got a small 4 point. He was chasing a couple of girls that were moving too fast for me to get a shot at but I grunted at him and he stopped, that was a fatal mistake because I was looking at him through the scope while trying to stop him. Dropped him in his tracks...
