Blasphemer!

Some questions I have when you get a more finalized plan: How much does the class cost? Are shotguns provided? How much ammo is required?

I used Skype for a while. It's definitely not on the same level as Vonage, but it is $30 a year for unlimited outbound calls. I even bought a little gizmo that let me use my house phone with it, otherwise you use a microphone or headset. It was choppy most of the time, but it filled in the gaps when I didn't want to use my cell (like being on hold with the IRS last year). Now I have Comcast VOIP. It works really well. The sound quality is very good. I can't tell the difference from a regular land line. I would have kept using Skype and my cell, but I called Comcast to complain about raising my bill, and they hooked me up with a package deal that was cheaper than my original bill and included the VOIP. So it was like I am getting it for free.

He has a volunteer Posse - Awesome. This just proves that we don't need new illegal immigration laws, we just need to enforce the ones we already have.

This guy is just awesome! I don't understand why more Sherriffs don't take this approach. It seems to be very effective, and his constituants love him for it. I don't know any statistics, but I'd be willing to bet that his inmate return rate is lower than normal too.

Phantom6, another member of this board, has training classes in Oak Ridge. I took his Handgun Carry Permit class and was very impressed. Looking at his web page, it says that they offer "Shotgun" classes. Here's the link... http://firearmsclasses.com/

Thanks for that update, I had no idea they all were back in action. I gave them each a listen, and State Radio definitely has the same flavor as Dispatch. I'm going to have to get the album.

I got hooked on a band called Dispatch. I think they have broken up now, but they have 4 or 5 albums of great music.

Yeah, and I thought ammo was going up due to the high cost of copper. How much copper is in a 12 gauge shell?

Well, the good news is this is the Summer Olympics and curling is a Winter event. But the bad news is there are 4 days of Table Tennis coverage.

If you're at a range that allows it, or on private property, practice drawing and firing from concealed cover. I've started doing this, and it is a real eye-opener for how long it takes to actually get a shot off.

Gun vs. Club.....and why you should carry two guns.

Of course, I also blame the officer for not knowing that the first rule for going to a bat fight is to bring a bat. -

I am in the market for an unregistered, off the grid bat. If anyone has any leads, please let me know. -

Yeah, it's definitely a given. You just keep on thinking that. I promise I won't bring my concealed weapon inside. I promise. -
And you thought there wasn't an agenda behind global warming...

/begin_rant It's always something with the GW fanatics. Remeber a few years ago, it was florocarbons, or all of our aerosols. We converted over to whatever we use now, but still global warming. Before that is was freon. Gotta get rid of it all. OK we did that, at a major expense of converting cars and houses to the new stuff. Well, what do you know, we still have global warming. Remember back before that even, everyone was screaming that we were headed into an ice age. I think even Time Magazine did a big piece on it. Nobody knows for sure what's going on. It's just another excuse for the politicians to seperate us from our money. From what I read, most of the stats that they all love to quote are 10 - 20 years old, and recent studies are showing that we may be cooling again. I even saw a report that said Mars was going through a warming period. Pretty sure we didn't do that. Maybe the Sun is just a little hotter lately. I saw a big honkin' SUV driving down the road the other day with all kind of tree hugger propaganda stickers on it. It also had a sticker that said it was OK that they were driving this beast because they had purchased carbon offset credits. Now don't get me wrong, if you have a big SUV, I'm not mad at you. If you have the money to buy it and pay for the gas, I say drive on. It's the carbon offset credit thing that gets me. Mostly they pay companies bonuses for doing stuff to save the environment, but they were already doing these things anyway. Ca-ching, extra money for them. I fear that the credits may become mandatory. /end_rant Whoo, I feel better now. Think I'll go to Wendy's! -
I am really into whitewater kayaking. It's the main reason I moved to TN. I've just started backpacking, looks like that may consume some time and money. Also I enjoy photography and Geocaching.

Funny, look what happens when you compress the words "The IRS" = theirs Coincidence? I think not! Viva la Fair Tax

A few months ago, I went to the Cherokee Surplus in Fountain City that Mike mentioned. The prices were very good, in fact I was surprised. For the small ones (not sure of the size) they were about $9 for three of 'em. For the larger (.556 I think) they were about $15 for three. Don't quote me on the price, I'm going by my really bad memory, but that is a close ballpark. He had a bunch of them there, most in excellent condition. He also carries the real MRE's, but was out of them when I was there. If you go by his shop, please ask if he has any in yet, and let me know.

I'm buildin' me a Harley next weekend. If I'da know it were that easy, I'da done it a long time ago.

Another idea I had is to just call your local Police Department. I know they take ammo all the time. My grandfather had a bunch of really old ammo when he passed away, and my dad just took it all down to the PD. They were happy to take it off his hands.
-
If you have a range nearby, you could try calling them and see if they would take it from you. At my local range, any misfired rounds you have, are to be thrown into the range with the rest of the brass.

I would think the TSA would freak if they found this in your pocket at the metal detector line. Seems they may think you are attempting to smuggle a gun onboard with the assistance of others, one piece per person. Would you inform the TSA inspector that you were taking a part out of the gun?

IF I had thought of this question I would have posted it in my "Makes me wonder why" thread.
