  3. I'm neither an "old timer" or extremely experienced, but a buddy and I have been doing dome rimfire ammo comparisoins with rfles, and I would say that the groups in your pictures are starting to get close to the capability of your ammo. Prob some room to improve on your side, but you may be seeing some significant ammo influence too. Hell, I think you're doing great! I'm having trouble getting those groups at 50 with a rifle and 9x scope! .
  4. My mother-in-law's wicked bloody marys...and plenty of water.
  5. 2nd the lansky system. Pretty much foolproof. I've used the same set-up for about 15 yrs.
  6. Glad I'm not the only one that fusses with the lock. Let her deal with the gate and kill two birds with one stone.
  7. I keep a some ed's red in a coffee can in the shop. Sometimes I'll drop auto barrels in it if I can't clean immediately. Seems to cut powder residue well and degrease but never really evaluated it. Like Garufa said, how hard is it to keep some Hoppe's n clp around. Key ingrediates are kerosene, atf, and mineral spirits.
  8. Bud's Gun Shop online was running XD .40SC for 399 recently. By most accounts equal with Glock in durability and accuracy. I love my 45C! Is coal creek still giving out free hugs!

    Advice on 45 carry

I carry an XD45C when packing heavy, and there's no end to great 1911 offerings...but if you really like your HK the HK45C is a nice looking/feeling weapon too. You cab split your choices in half by deciding if single or double stacked mags.
  10. Great read. Thought provoking...and makes me want a new gun. Maybe I should trick the wife into reading it.
  11. Been riding the Zyrtec train since Wed of last week. I started feeling like I might actually survive yesterday. I'm a hit or miss kinda seasonal allergy sufferer.. This year was a bullseye! Blaaaaahhh
  12. +1 for the furminator. Works great on our GSD and better on our mutt (akita, golden, sharpei ???). ...actually I'd have to give a big +1 on the dyson too.
  13. ??? New to me too. I'll have to look into this place. Just been pimp'n Bill's Outpost on a different thread. He's only had his FFL for a few weeks but is building stock. Really nice guy, staff, and great prices. He's in Midland Plaza if you haven't checked him out.
  14. That is awesome!! Both product and advertisement. I'll keep the holster in mind next time a plan a trip to a National Park.
  15. There's a new place in Maryville called Bill's Outpost. Just got his FFL recently so still building stock, but super nice guy with very good prices. Prices and customer service well worth the drive south.
  16. I haven't been there since early January. My intention is not to turn this into another bash thread but SERIOUSLY... $18/$8. So hours are cut back to where I can't go there after work through the week and they raise their prices! I hope someone from Gunny's reads this thread... and takes a look at their business model.
  17. I think you guys are missing the obvious here. Just imagine cruising into your local wally world in this beauty with your Bren Ten tucked in a Miami Vice rig under your white sport coat. That's got to be worth $50k.
  18. A couple of strong seven and 7's and some classic skynyrd.... YouTube - Tuesday's Gone 1976 LIVE Lynyrd Skynyrd
  19. Just a casual observer of this thread but want to commend everyone that stood up and wanted to make this deal right. I think we're all associating with some good folks on this forum.
  20. Welcome from Blount Co. (originally from Tri-Cities also)

  24. Welcome, from a transplanted Jonesborough feller.
  25. Beautiful piece. Let the Glock sale begin!
