Been there and done that.....problem is he doesn't care...

My 13yo son is just dying... He has to use a 4-5 year old compaq pressario laptop. Its to old and all his friends computers are faster. He loves COD World at War for his xbox and wants to get it for the computer also. He likes playing WOW and other online games. When you look at computer ads they have 17 million different versions and options. What he needs is a computer fast enough and powerful enough to play these online games without lags. What computers should I be looking at? Specifically what kind and how fast a processor and video card should it have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bet most people don't realize that there are two types of scorpions that call Tennessee home. One is native and one was introduced. I didn't realize it till I was at Davidson County Sportsman Club and saw one crawling across the clubhouse floor. My daughter wanted to catch it and keep it as a pet.

I grew up shooting my granddads model 11. They are great guns. As long as it cycles reliably, I don't see why it wouldn't work as a good home defense gun. And if you run out of ammo you can just beat the bad guy to death with it. They are solid guns. Recoil has always been pretty stout with mine. I will have to check the bushings to make sure they are installed correctly.

What a bunch of douche bags!

Dang. Those are purty.

That sucks. There is nothing worse than buying a new gun and having to send it back. I would suggest trying it again after you get it back. I bet it will function great for you. I love my Kahr's. I understand that once you lose confidence in a gun it is hard to ever trust it again. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Why do yo think the tag system is broken. You can take up to three bucks and something like over 100 does if you get a Sportsman license. If you hunt for food, you can take just more does than you could eat in a year. I like the limit on bucks. People are more willing to let the young ones walk.

If you get drawn it's a deal.

Here is a link if anybody wants to apply for a Kentucky Elk lottery permit https://fw.ky.gov/license/olpsintro.aspx If you get drawn the non-resident tag is $360. Very reasonable considering it cost $600-$1000 for non residents out west. The application fee is $10. Tennessee is going to have their first Elk hunt Oct 19-23. There will be a total of 5 permits available. 4 will be drawn through a lottery system and 1 will be raffled off for charity. You can apply for the TN hunt starting April 1st. So who is going to try to a draw a Tn Elk Tag? (besides me)

Froggy, That is a really cool shotgun you found. I looked up some info on the Savage trench guns and I do not think he has one. His serial number doesn't match and it is supposed to have ramp sight. I would not consider the front sight a ramp sight, but I could be wrong. After looking the auction and the following info, what do you think it is? If it is not, I wonder is he is purposely misleading people with his ad or it is just a mistake. Here is what blue book says: SAVAGE MODEL 720 MILITARY SHOTGUNS - appears identical to Remington Model 11. This was mfg. by Stevens/Savage in very limited quantities, plain and engraved receivers noted with high quality commercial blue finish. Stocks are unmarked and must have ramp sights to be original. Watch for altered guns made into Riots. Serial range 69,000-90,000. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% Riot Gun N/A $2,500 $1,850 $1,250 $925 $750 $600 Long Barrel N/A $1,000 $800 $750 $500 $350 $300 STEVENS MODEL 620 MILITARY SHOTGUNS - this was the current model being sold by Stevens and has a commercial blue finish, but not of the same quality as the other companies. Trench guns are equipped with handguards that have a definite purple/reddish color to the front and dark blue vent. shroud. Model 620s are much rarer than 520s and have "U.S." and ordnance bomb on receiver, ordnance bomb on barrel and unmarked stock. Serial range 1,000-30,000. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% Trench Gun N/A $3,500 $2,800 $1,700 $1,200 $800 $600 Riot Gun N/A $900 $750 $450 $400 $350 $250 Long Barrels N/A $500 $400 $250 $200 $175 $150 STEVENS 520-30 MILITARY SHOTGUNS - this model was resurrected due to available machinery and is the most commonly found Trench gun. Riot guns in mint condition are hard to find. Same finish as Model 620, "U.S." and ordnance bomb on receiver, ordnance bomb on barrel and no proofing on stocks, except for reworks. Trench gun has same style handguard as Model 620. Serial range 30,000-70,000. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% Trench Gun N/A $3,000 $2,000 $1,500 $800 $600 $500 Riot Gun N/A $1,000 $750 $350 $300 $250 $200 Long Barrels N/A $500 $400 $225 $175 $150 $125

Nate, I stopped by Dicks in Cool Springs about an hour ago and the had quite a bit of 9mm. Some was 14.99(forgot the brand) and the UMC Remington was on sale for 11.98. Not the best price I have seen but they had it on the shelves. Academy is still out.

From Blue Book: MODEL 720 AUTOLOADER STANDARD - 12 or 16 ga., Browning A-5 style semi-auto action, 26-32 in. barrels, various chokes, checkered pistol grip stock. Mfg. 1930-49. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% $225 $180 $165 $155 $140 $120 $110 This seems a little low to me. BB is not always correct. Also, 16 ga's usually command a premium.

After looking at the pics and going thru Blue book, my best guess is your Rossi is a MODEL 68. MODEL 68 - .38 Spl. cal., 5 shot, 2 or 3 in. barrel, blue or nickel (3 in. barrel only), choice of wood or rubber grips with 2 in. barrel. Disc. 1998. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% $165 $135 $100 $90 $80 $70 $65
