  1. I am having a leather iwb holster made by kramer leather for my 638 j-frame. It should be in in about a week or two. I will let you know how I like it. http://www.kramerleather.com/
  2. I have not been to Hero Gear yet but I know I saw a 308 DPMS at Rabbi's shop, Eastside Gun Shop. Check with him. He could probably get you what you are looking for.

    .45-70 rifle

Boomhower, I have a Marlin in 45-70 that I deer hunt with. It is a great round and very accurate. The nice thing about 45-70 is there are so many different loadings for it. Like glockster was saying you can get lite loads and very heavy loads depending on what rifle you are shooting. I shoot the 325 gr LeveRevolution from Horandy. Here is a pic of my Marlin 1895.
  4. Mike, You are not going to find any "hunting" rifles with 10 rd mags. EasilyObessed got it right with the AR-10 if you want 10 rd or greater mags. I have a bushmaster in 308 that I target shoot with and hunt with. DPMS has a 308 that starts out about 900 I believe. You may want to try and find a used one to get down in the 500-800 range. Good luck!

    GO TITANS

Now I am a big Chargers fan except when they are playing the Titans. Go Titans!!! I am a charger fan because LT went to my alma mater, TCU. GO FROGS!!!!
  6. Great story! Some of my favorite time is spent shooting cans with the kids.
  7. Let us know if you find out why he was arrested.
  8. You can check on TWRAs website for regulations on posting property. I think the sign you posted above in overkill. All you need is the generic no hunting/trespassing sign with your name on them. They have to be posted every x number of yards. I know of several landowners that if they catch somebody illegally hunting on their property they take their picture, politely ask them to leave and let them know if they are caught on their property again they will turn them over to the police.
  9. That sounds really good. My sister in law makes a similar recipe except she uses blue cheese instead of ranch. i think the ranch would better. Will have to try out soon. Thanks.
  10. Bkelm, As you can tell by my name, I am a fan of Kahrs. I started with the P9, then moved to the PM9 and now carry the P45. All have been very reliable and accurate. They are very slim, easy to carry and fit my hand great. I have fondled the PM45 and like it as well. The Rabbi finally talked me into getting a SW 638. It is a great little carry gun. I switch up between that and the P45. The J Frame is actually more comfortable to carry than the P45 when I use a IWB. Although I like the 45acp for self defense, i do not feel underpowered when I carry the 38 with +p ammo.
  11. Surely you don't mean the movie Airplane...Why yes I do, and don't call me Shirley. I guess i picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue...
  12. If you like to camp, check out Cheatham WMA. http://www.state.tn.us/twra/wildlife.html You can download a pdf of the rules and regs book that info on Cheatham WMA. There are a few other wma's in middle tn. The rukes and regs book has a map that shows you were they all are. Hope this helps.
  13. No Bling, Go to Eastside Gun Shop in Nashville and ask for "The Rabbi" He can take care of that for you....
  14. Congrats! Kahrs are great guns!!!
  15. Hey tungsten, my cousin did that once. He was tired of his car getting broken into. He had a couple of guns stolen. He took an old revolver and plugged the barrel and left it in his car. After that revolver got stolen, his car wasn't broken into anymore. Not exactly what I would have done, but it seemed to be effective.
  16. The Hasslers are good people. Brian is the main guy with his dad, Jerry and brother mike. I have bought a lot of guns from them. Brian is fun to deal with. He is a tough negociater. As long as you know your prices, good deals can be had. It is a good place to spend your lunch hour looking at all the guns and watching all the deals being made.
  17. The Kahr PM9 is a great carry gun. I started with the P9 then went to the PM9 and now carry a P45. It was reliable and accurate at self defense ranges. It was a great pocket gun. I carried it in my pocket when wearing loose fitting pants like dockers or dress slacks and in a iwb when wearing jeans. The only reason I got rid of mine was to fund the P45 purchase. :)
  18. I agree with Rabbi. Save up a few more dollars and get either a Ruger Mk II or III. I have one of each and they are great guns. IMHO No matter what you get, you and your kids will have a lot of fun with a .22 pistol.

    Do you .22?

I have 2 .22 pistols: Ruger MKII with a Tactical Solutions barrel and a supressor and a Ruger MkIII and 3 rifles: Marlin Mod 60, TC R-55 All Weather and a Henry Lever Action. You can never have to many .22's:D
