What drunken redneck are you talking about? From what I read it seems like the guy with a gun was the sober one. I'm glad you are confident in your abilities, but as the saying goes there is always someone better and faster. If this had taken place at my house it would have looked like this; Guy with gun shows up and asks me to turn the music down. I say "no problem sir, have a nice night" Then he goes home. I go inside, turn the music down and call the police, crack another beer and watch the show as the Leo's arrest said neighbor. After all, if I'm drinking my guns are locked up so I wouldn't be able to draw it anyway. Edit: No capitulating, no begging, and nobody dies. Ymmv

Actually the guy didn't wait, him and his buddies decided to physically assault the guy and got themselves shot for their efforts. There is a good chance if they hadn't escalated the situation they would still be alive and the neighbor would have been charged with brandishing. If a guy shows up on your property and already has his gun out, all your likely to accomplish by trying to pull your own is to get yourself shot. I think your kids would rather having you breathing then watch you be shot to death. But at the end of the day, it's your choice to make. I pray that if you ever find yourself in that situation you are faster then the other guy.

Seems like a self correcting situation to me. Idiot who confronts and taunts neighbor while brandishing goes to jail. Other idiot who decides to physically attack someone who is armed is dead. If someone shows up on my property while armed and starts making a scene I'm calling the police, I'm not going to start a firefight in my front yard unless it's the last resort.

Did you run into any problems installing that MI rail on the tantal? I know the tantal handguards are not interchangeable with most ak handguards.

Some people don't know when to cut their losses. They are the ones that walk away empty handed instead having something to show for their efforts.

My handguns have a minimum of five magazines. If you like milsurp make sure you buy as many mags as you can fast, in case they dry up. I have about twenty AR mags laying around, you can never have too many of those. Right now I'm struggling to find enough Ak74 magazines to feed my tantal. I got into the 5.45 game late and the milsurp mags have pretty much all dried up. Mags that cost 10-15 bucks a year or two ago are selling for 25-40 or more now.

My wife likes the Ruger. And I agree on the ak, that thing is sweet. Very nice work.
