That's the first sporterized mosin I've seen that I like. I really like the way that stock looks, and I'm glad you kept the wood instead of going synthetic.

That's good news. I know before it flooded the "thug" crowd was getting pretty heavy over near the movie theatre entrance. IIRC there was even a gang related shooting there a few years ago.

As always, it's easier to blame an inanimate object instead of the person. After all, it's harder for an object to defend itself. With that said, I'm sure there are some who let the power on carrying a gun go to their head. Luckily that seems to be a self-correcting problem most of the time.

Glad it's working out for you. I moved just over the state line into Ky about a year ago. I've enjoyed it so far as well. Ky even has a few perks over Tn, such as open carry and car carry without a permit.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/facebook-page-of-tulsa-shooting-suspect-my-dad-was-shot-by-a-f-king-n-r/ This looks like an even bigger tragedy the the Martin/Zimmerman thing. Some interesting things in the comments of this article.

Don't think this is how the "stand your ground law" works

No worries. That situation does seem to be pretty straight forward. Hopefully that event wasn't a result of the Zimmerman case. And I really hope it isn't a sign of things to come. I find it interesting that the news is reporting both shooters as white, the younger guy seems to have some native American or something in him. -

Tulsa, Oklahoma IIRC. Unless we are thinking of two different things. -

I think Mark may have been talking to me with that post. I'm glad you clarified your position. I have a bias against mall ninjas as well. If Zimmerman was simply trying to protect his neighborhood then I have no issues with him. However, if he was out looking for a fight then he gets whatever comes to him. The term witch hunt was no more dramatic then the ones claiming Zimmerman was "stalking" Martin. I'm tired of hearing terms like that and I thought your pursue/confront comment was more of the same. It seems like I was mistaken, and I apologize for that. -

Where are you getting this? Everything I've read said that followed Martin and called the police, just like neighborhood watch is supposed to do. He didn't chase him down the street or anything. Any it looks like Martin approached Zimmerman, not the other way around. But don't let that interrupt your witch hunt. Cheers! -
You ain't kidding, that is a beast of a barrel! I'm sure that will shoot awesome with some handloads.

And there it is. Straight from the playbook. If you are loosing the discussion, simply accuse everyone who disagrees with you of being racist. -

Looks like they almost made it out over the ocean. -
Looks good! Are you planning the next one yet?

Not really surprised about these so called experts. IIRC Martin's own father said that it wasn't him screaming for help. I assume he would know better then some guys who've never even heard TM's voice. -
I've been out of town and just got caught up last night. I can't wait for next season now!!

I went to one of the owl hollow shoots, I think back in '08 or so. Had an awesome time! MCSC would be quite a bit closer, but I would try to make either one for sure.

Those are some pretty good thumpers, it's not really a surprise she's not all that excited about shooting them. My wife is nowhere near ready for anything like that yet. We need to have a Clarksville area TGO shoot at Montgomery county shooting complex or somewhere.

I'm still working with her on the AR. The stoutest thing she's fired so far is a .22MAG. She asked to go get some more targets and ammo today, said she wants to work on her accuracy with the lever action some more.
-
I just get them at Wally world.

I recently bought .22 rifles for the wife and myself. A henry lever-action for her and a Marlin model 60 for me. Got out to the range today and got to put some rounds downrange. Had a great time and just had to brag on her a little. She struggled with the sights for a little while, but she got it figured out and started shooting great. Her last group was her best, using my model 60. That's a 8" target at about 10 meters. I'm stoked with that!

Those are some good looking AK's! Here is my lonely tantal, I'm sure it will have some friends before long.

http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=16011674 "But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney's office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn't enough evidence to lead to a conviction, the sources told ABC News." -
Ha, you would be surprised how long it took me to spell it like that. Damn autocorrect.
