  1. I've killed deer with my 10mm Kimber. The longest shot was 63 yds. It's a lot like a loud semiauto bow.
  2. I was wondering when that was going to come up.
  3. Rimfire Suppressors ????????
  4. I've had two forms in since 2-26-10. They went pending 4-5-10. I have the slowest examiner They’re saying it will take 4 months from pending to approval, but a new examiner was just hired this week.
  5. The K31 Swiss is the most accurate military surplus rifle I have ever shot and it’s $199 at JG sales.
  6. Sealed suppressors can be re-cored. Some manufactures will “clean†them for a price. Liberty will convert them to a user serviceable suppressor. Buying a user serviceable suppressor to begin with will save you money and time in the long run. Just remember to clean it often or it will be a sealed can within a few hundred rounds. 15. Winchester Super-X Ammunition Subsonic 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain Lead Truncated Cone Hollow Point Box of 50 - MidwayUSA This in a rifle. In a handgun it depends on the barrel length. 3" use the HV stuff, It will be subsonic out of the short barrel. If you go longer than that you will need to play around with different loads to keep it subsonic. My MK II likes this...Winchester Super-X Ammunition 22 Long Rifle 37 Grain Plated Lead Hollow Point Box of 500 (10 Boxes of 50) - MidwayUSA
  16. When you say Target, do you mean a human silhouette at 200 yds or do you mean a 1" dot at 200 yds? If it's the later you need to look into a free floated barrel. 1 in 9 = up to 69 gr 1 in 8 = up to 77 gr 1 in 7 = up to 80 gr There are some 1 in 6.5s out there for the 90 gr bullets. Velocity plays a roll as well. Higher velocity rounds need a little less twist to stabilize the same bullet. For instance a 24 inch 1 in 8 barrel will stabilize a 77 gr bullet all day long, but cut the barrel back to 10 inches and you will need to go to 1 in 7 or faster. Or drop bullet weight. Most all the heavy bullets are for guns used for out to 600 yds or extra energy to reliably knock a BG on his ass.
  17. Not on the .338 Spectre, but I do have a 458 Socom and it does BAD THINGS to deer. http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43158
  18. Yellow will make black targets contrast against a green background.
  19. Silencer Talk Ask in the AAC section and you will be talking to the people that run AAC. You could talk to the Major he is also in the know. MAJOR MALFUNCTION - Class 3 III NFA dealer - suppressor / silencer sales
  20. This only applies to pre sample guns. All post sample guns must go.
  21. I worked with a small bullet manufacturer testing their bullets. He specializes in subsonic expanding bullets. The gun is outstanding in the field. I killed several deer last season testing and got golf ball size exit holes with subsonics. It's surprising how hard such a little gun hits. Marty is a hell of a good guy and some of his toys are being tested in the sandbox.
  22. This
  23. It's mainly for hunting with 530gr subsonics suppressed. I always wanted a 458 and a SBR, but Marty at Teppo Jutsu had his house destroyed by a hurricane and was a year behind. I was looking for 8" barrel. Conventional wisdom says anything shorter than 7 1/2 will have problems. He was not even taking orders for a year, but he did have a 7" upper that he experimented with that he said he would sell. So that's how it came to be. The form 4 for the suppressor should be back in about 6 weeks. With it on the gun It will be the same length as an AR with a 16 1/2 barrel. I have added the 3 position gas block.
  24. Of coarse it depends on your caliber as well. A 7" 308 would be bad. A 7" AR cambered in 9mm would be perfectly acceptable with a 9mm suppressor. It's all about muzzle pressure. I would shoot an 8" 300 whisper suppressed all day long. I would not let a voided warranty stop me if it is what I wanted. A faster twist barrel and a brake will fix most issues. A piston gun will also be louder and does require some dwell time.
