1. Im normally extremely situationally aware and somehow I missed this today? I'm slacking
2. 4weeks is average if you mail it in a little less if you drop off in person. They also do prepaid reservations the makes it 10-14 days I believe.
3. 115 is nothing to shake a stick at -- however my dads first cousin has over 300 including 3 all original Henry Rifles.........
4. Im going to watch this tonight -- I know TC has his critics -- but to be honest I have never seen a movie he was in I didnt like -- I didnt watch Vanilla Sky though -- other than that i think i have seen all of his movies but this one.....

My New SR1911

i red somewhere that was in the works -- their commander is very nice -- if you can find one     Mahoney's in JC keeps Commanders fairly regular along with the governments for the same price 699.00
7. Actually he could have done the lettering but i asked it to be all black ---for a gun made in 2000 it was not beat up at all had some very minor wear on it but this finish is actually stronger than their hostile environment finish. This is a Variant 3 so there is no safety so to speak or white line. I have the detent plate which takes about 2 minutes to change it over to a varient 1 which is what my USP 40 is so it can be carried cocked and locked. However having this gun in double action half cocked to me is better than cocked and locked so no safety to fumble with and the trigger pull at half cock is around 6 lbs. After that shot it goes to single action of course. I do have a couple of pic before but it doesnt tell much about the gun -- lighting was bad This was only a slide refinish-- he has my USP 40 now which im having the slde and takedown lever done in house black again and having the barrel done in with their plating service -- i will post pics when i get it back -- im more excited about that one than this one Only before pics i have as you can see gun only had very minor holster wear before --

My New SR1911

Mine shot anything out of the box -- FMJ JHP didnt matter -- only 1911 i have ever owned that shot ANY ammo I shoved down its throat.
9. I make sure I have my tactical drop down holster when I carry my HK 45 with my surefire x300. I always wear my generic Swat shirt and tiger striped pants. Then I top it off with my ultra cool conceal carry badge. Noone says anything to me. But I think the key is wearing your baseball cap backwards while following the steps above.
10. I met Tom in Arkansas a few moons ago -- such a great guy .......
11. Why are thy buying 1.6 billion rounds if they have over run. Heh. Nice deal too bad I have no 40's anymore.
12. Go through an FFL Basically your taking a chance every time you buy a gun from a stranger. Deal with reputable people but there is always still a chance. You don't know how many times that firearm has changed hands. There is no car fax for guns if that is what you mean. Even a FFL can only tell you of the gun was REPORTED stolen. Doesn't mean it won't be 4 months from now. At least it's not you in hot water if the gun was already reported stolen or is reported stolen down the road. You will more than likely be out the money though if you buy it and its reported stolen later. Mr po po will be paying you a visit.
13. I have a troy built i bought two years ago -- not a single hiccup -- starts on the third pull every time -- guess its hit or miss.  before that i had a weed eater brand i bought at walmart i gave away when i moved to arkansas -- it worked fine for 8 years not a hiccup.
14.     38 special good luck.... If you stalk the colonial heights walmart and i mean you have to get there @ 1700 for the truck and wait you can score 9mm pretty regularly.....100 round boxes but its a hit and miss waiting game
15. I cant help it -- everything i have has to be in "like new" condition -- carry or not ..........minus family heirlooms.  Its like that noise in my Jeep -- it drives me nutz.
16.     If you decide to use them (which you cant go wrong i promise) make sure you set up an appt -- prepay and then send your gun in when they tell you to. Turnaround time is much better then just sending it in.  usually will have it back in a week or two if you do it that way---   you can look them up they do work for a lot of people across the country and their work is second to none......their communication is a bit slow but its only the two of them.
17. I lost one of my 2 GSD's last month -- the thing that sucks about dogs is you love them more than humans and when they die it sucks twice as bad RIP in Burton
18.         i guess the question is better asked with the heat of the pan to "melt" any of the frame if it touches it -- i know boiling wont melt it -- i should have rephrased the question
19. Call ccr in Greenville. Brad and Mary do great work.
20. And I take it everything turned out fine ?
21. Going to try something this week and wanted some input..  Going to use the rit dye method to dye a polymer handgun black ...   Now my question is i see advice from 150-190 degrees to boil the polymer in a pan for a few hours --- how hot is too hot to make sure I dont screw the polymer up?   I would think 190 wouldnt even come close to messing up say a glock but just wanted to check and see if there any "experts" here to chime in?     Thanks again       of course the "lower" so to speak will be stripped free of all metals
