1) as long as the flash hider is removable you can switch the FSB for a low pro gas block and put on any length forearm. 2) you can buy any length upper without restriction. You can put it on a pistol lower without a tax stamp.

I don't live there but out office is in rural Kingston, on Gallahar Rd. it's a nice area. As far as gun stores, Frontier is your biggest and best. The owner came on here once and made a stink so their name may not be favored by some, but they have good service and selection, and as you said an inexpensive indoor range. If you haven't yet, go eat at Handy Burger in the south part of Kingston. It's a little diner that's pretty good. Other than that it's a nice little community with a big lake. It's a great place for an outdoorsman especially if you have a boat.

Here's the website with full address an menu. http://www.chandlersstore.com/page/page/5751284.htm Pork ribs. I'm not even sure where you can buy beef ribs around here.

I love Chandlers. Good fried chicken, good rotisserie chicken, good ribs, and great sides. They also have fruit cobbler and ice cream. oh and Kool-Aid. I know some here think its just ok, but I love it!

4" at 100 yds is not necessary. Im not a deer hunting noob, but minute of paper plate will be just fine with a good expandable ammo. I've shot deer high in the vital zone, low, thru the shoulder in the neck, behind and in front if the shoulder, all died within a short jaunt. Here is a good illustration. Anything in the pink circle is deadly. Thru the heart is usually DRT Like said above most shots will be inside 75 yds.

Lance Armstrong Banned for Life and Stripped of Titles
Lumber_Jack replied to analog_kidd's topic in General Chat
This is correct. He was tested more than any other cyclist. Now I believe whole heartedly that he and others on the US Postal Team used blood transfusions (ie blood doping) during their Tour de France runs. He cheated in one of the dirtiest sports on the planet. THEY ALL DOPE! it's a game of who can cheat better to win. Until cycling becomes a clean sport this will be the reality. -
That's the truth for sure!

No need to be an a$$. It's just my opinion, kinda like the thread title. You cant possibly think I meant soldiers are supervised al the time. In battle, when faced with hard decisions, what do our soldiers rely on? Training? My point was we train them to be men physically and on the battlefield but that doesn't mean they are ready socially. Sure probably a higher number than average ARE ready. But the military is a small percentage of society. What about the other 18yo who have never had a lesson in discipline. You have to realize these laws go outside the focus group we are discussing here.
-
My opinion is based on the fact that the first part is done under strict training and supervision. The latter is done with neither.

I didn't learn to drink responsibly till probably 24, and I started at 17. I see nothing productive in being able to drink a beer. I know our young soldiers see and do some very tough things, but I don't think alcohol is any kind of reward.

Bristol Tenn. and Bristol Va. getting Bass Pro and Cabela's
Lumber_Jack replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
I think you'd be surprised at the amount of hunting gear they have in-store. Now if that's not your thing then it wouldn't be worth the drive. I've lived in Knoxville for a while and frankly if I'm gonna buy new hunting clothes or gear I'm buying online because Knoxville's selection is limited. -
Bristol Tenn. and Bristol Va. getting Bass Pro and Cabela's
Lumber_Jack replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
Exactly! It's not the town market, it's available access from rural America. If its easy to access, people will come. Like I said above Cabela's built outside Wheeling, WV which makes the Tri-cities look like a grand metropolis. -

Lumber_Jack replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
I'm not much ofa fan of BP's Redhead brand, but I have had good success with Cabela's brand. I also think BP I overpriced by a long shot. Cabela's can be the same way on some things but thats just the nature of big stores and lots of taxidermy. -
Bristol Tenn. and Bristol Va. getting Bass Pro and Cabela's
Lumber_Jack replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
I'm not at all excited about Bass Pro, but Cabelas would be really nice. They built a Cabela's about 1.5 hrs from my hometown in Wheeling WV. That place gets people to drive there from 3+hrs away. I don't doubt they can support both. Think about the distance to the next nearest BP or Cabelas from rural East Tennessee, Virginia, NC, and even Kentucky. They will be busy. I thought BP and Cabelas would not build that close to each other. I guess that was just speculation. -
Off topic: Does that 300 BLK Carbine cycle subsonic well?
-
Agreed. I like these little buggers
-
This was my assumption, that as standard length was meant to be behind the block. I think my question has been sufficiently answered. Thanks
-
Yes I understand that. With a FSB the forearm length is specifically dictated by the gas system. With a low pro block the forearm could be infinitely long. I just wanted to know if there is a standard length among manufacturers using the term carbine, mid-length, and rifle, for free float forearms.

Well I'm glad you were able to make amends and return to TGO. If someone could rewind the audio tape of my life you'd find many racial slurs be thrown about in my past. It was a product of environment. And as you said its the low hanging fruit when you loose your cool. I'm not racist and feel very strongly that my wife and I will adopt a child of a different color someday. Most of all I believe in change and forgiveness. I applaud your honesty. Remember forgiveness can e a process it take some longer than others. Time will be the judge of your sincerity, but I'll take you at your word. Welcome back.

I think he said "12in plate DEAD CENTER". The emphasis was on the dead center and less on the size of the plate.

School me on Glock reloading please
Lumber_Jack replied to tt0511's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The Lone Wolf barrels are just as accurate as factory(or more). They don't use polygonal rifling which allows the use of lead boolits with leading up the barrel. I reload 10mm in a Glock 20 and have had zero issues. You should always inspect your cases for signs of over pressure or cracking. If you use good brass you won't have any issues. -
Its a carbine length for sure. I'm assuming you have the front sight gas block. As Mac said any Carbine 2 piece replacement will fit My confusion comes with low profile gas blocks and free float forearms that cover the block.
-
Yeah, thanks, it's important to me. I'm considering a suppressor and wether or not to have the suppressor partially under the rail. For that barrel length and forearm length need to be right.
